Loved the hotel - beautiful styling, great facilities. Room gorgeous, clean and well presented, very comfy huge bed, spectacular view. Great to have a mini bar and coffee machine. Bathroom spotless, shower was powerful and hot.

There was a persistent thrumming noise, couldn't tell if it was coming from inside or outside the room. Very disturbing at night, almost like a loud vibrating sound. Switched off the aircon but it continued - possibly an AC unit from an adjoining room? Also, for a 4* hotel, the quality of the toilet paper is very poor! Thin and scratchy - please improve this!

This is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The staff were so professional and helpful. Lucia looked after us so well in the restaurant. She was so polite, kind and helpful. We really appreciated her professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and served generously. The choice of the decor is modern and the ambience delightful. Parking facilities are excellent and access is easy. The location of the hotel is superb as it is only a short walking distance to the city centre. We really look forward to another stay in this hotel.

From the second u walk in the door, u know staying in this hotel is a great choice. We loved everything…the decor, the handy parking, the bus stop to city centre only outside the hotel door, the lobby area, the dining hall, the bedroom…. The food was amazing…..this hotel definitely should win an award for most extensive breakfast in the world…..the open kitchen with ur pancakes made in front of you…..but we think the super ingredient this hotel has is it’s brilliant staff, all so friendly/happy/ efficient/nothing is a problem. We have stayed in a lot of hotels. We are not the easiest to manage with two teens, one with severe autism. Also we were there during heatwave- lovely air con, lovely pillows in beds, we booked this hotel when we saw a “superb” rating but if there is a higher rating it is deserved for this hotel. We would go again anytime. Amazing views from our floor to ceiling windows in our bedroom

Nice modern hotel. Very good breakfast. Nice cafeteria. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room large and comfy. Very clean. Bathroom huge. Great underground parking although expensive at 18 euros. Overall fit for purpose. Reasonably easy to find and only 20 minutes from the ferry ⛴️

Being bombarded 4 days running with a request to check in on line. I am old fashioned enough to prefer a face to face. Sound proofing is not good. My night was disturbed by a barking dog and 6 girls having a party in the next room at 2.00am. Not conducive with an early start to catch a ferry. Dinner menu somewhat limited for choice whereas breakfast was excellent. Lovely bathroom spoiled by a shower OVER the bath. Certainly geared towards the younger generation.

Hotel Gran Bilbao is spacious and things function well. People at the reception are quick and helpful. Thanks also for upgrading me to a big room with a wide view to the hills and mountains surrounding Bilbao. Really appreciated <3 The bed was comfy and the room seemed pretty silent so I slept well. The air-con functioned well. I also loved the filtered water automat in the corridor, just behind my hotel room door (btw. water in Bilbao is tasty everywhere!) Breakfast is big and super nice. I stayed for 4 nights and ate so much every morning that I could easily stroll around the city until late in the afternoon. For the evening, there's also a restaurant and bar at the hotel but I had no time to try them this time. Next time, then!

The visual look of the bathroom could be uplifted a bit: the bathroom is neat and tidy but quite bland. Also, this hotel is located a bit further from the most central quartiers of Bilbao (but there's a bus stop just in front of the hotel - though I preferred walking up the hill to the hotel). But: if you plan to tour the Basque Country by car, this location is perfect for getting smoothly out of the city. I'll definitely book a room at Hotel Gran Bilbao for my next touring trip! But if you're staying only in Bilbao, you may want to find accommodation from a more central spot... but most of them seem quite pricey (unless it's truly off-season going on).

Flavoured water at reception very nice adn welcome in hot weather. Free apples too. Room was very large with a lovely big bathroom. Very clean. Public transport to old town and other sights in Bilbao was excellent -right outside our hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Would have liked the two single beds to be together as a double, in a triple/family room. Instructions on how to log in to netflix and using the TV generally wasn't clear. Cost of eat-in breakfast was very high. Evening meal salad needed a nice dressing -I had a caesar salad and it didn't have much taste which was a shame considering how much I paid for it.

Breakfast was good, but we did not need a buffet. Would have preferred ala carte as we don’t eat much for breakfast

Basoa was a disappointment. Food was good, not great, and our waiter ignored us after our food was brought out. Didn’t bring bread as promised, didn’t ask if we wanted dessert and we had to get up from our table to get him to bring our check. Also, when we checked in, our room was SO hot and it took 24 hours to cool it just a bit. The front desk staff were very helpful but it was always so busy that we always waited 10 or 15 minutes for any assistance and could never get the phone answered at the desk if we tried to call from our room.

Very modern and spacious room. The espresso machine and the pods were an excellent touch for coffee addicts like us.

Wifi was very bad and the locación is about 20 min walk from the centre. The parking costs 17 eur per night

Nice, clean rooms. Personnel was really friendly and helpful. Walking distance from center of Bilbao and Guggenheim. Restaurant is a bit basic, but overall the hotel is really good value for money. Wheelchair accessible rooms are available (shower was not roll-in though). we were impressed with cleaning crew - they cleaned the room and arranged our belongings just as they found it. We also got cheerful and warm goodbyes when we left. We had a family room that could house at least 4 people and was still spacious.

Hotel was bright and airy with a very young, vibrant and modern feel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bed in our King room was huge, with fab pillows. Nice to have a walk in shower and the only hotel I have stayed in where hairdryer in bathroom doesn’t need you to hold button to keep power on ! Ten minute down hill walk to the edge of town, but centre is fairly spread out, so considerably further to Guggenheim area. Choice of food at breakfast superb, and lovely lady called Mihaella even came for a chat to see everything was ok. Great service , and complimentary chocolate ! Secure parking available for €15, and within a 20 minute drive to Bilbao port. A8 that takes you to port is right by hotel. Although close to motorway, we found the ring road tricky to navigate on way to hotel.

An outdoor area to relax in would have made hotel perfect , but it was still an excellent place to stay on route to Bilbao Port.
