Everything about the hotel is splendid! Favourite things was the beautiful sunsets while having great cocktails made by a mixologist! Every dish I had here was delicious, I ended up having lots of meals at the hotel because the quality was superb and fair prices for everything considering it’s a hotel. However what made the stay exceptional is the customer service experience that compares to no other place I’ve stayed (and I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels all over Thailand!). Tak at reception and Meaw at the restaurant were fabulous! Thank you so much for making my stay so memorable

Loved everything

Our stay was honestly amazing. The staff were lovely and welcoming at all times, they were always smiling and polite and ready to help whenever necessary. We could easily book tours etc through the front desk and even pre book our included breakfast the day before. The included breakfast was so delicious and had a range of things from continental options made to order and traditional Thai dishes and a range of fruit. Our room was HUGE and the view was to die for and so was the pool. We barely left the hotel because it was so beautiful. Thank you so much to the houben team for an unforgettable experience.

Wonderful location on top of a cliff next to a small village. Top notch accommodation with spacious room, great bed etc. Excellent service, very helpful and kind staff. Great restaurant down-stairs, the Stir-fried Soft-shell crab with thai spices is a must-try, it was so good I had it twice in a row. If you want a peaceful stay away from the crowds and noise of the villages further north, this is the perfect accommodation for a couple. A monk from a nearby monastery even came to hold a meditation session one morning.

Nothing, it was all perfect. AC was maybe a little noisy but it didn’t bother us at all.

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Starting with the exceptional staff - everyone was incredibly kind and nice, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, and the breakfast was by far the best we had during our entire trip to Thailand. We truly enjoyed the morning yoga session, the clean and inviting swimming pool, and the unforgettable private fine dining experience at sunset - it was simply magical! A heartfelt thank you to Erik and the entire team for making our stay so wonderful. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Located on the top of a cliff in the quieter southern part of Ko Lanta, with fantastic sea view and beautiful sunsets, this hotel offers you everything you need to relax and to enjoy your holiday - and more. Nice, spacious rooms with very comfortable, large beds, each room with a balcony with sea view, all rooms with sufficient privacy (soundproof walls). The garden with the pool is nice for relaxing at any time of the day, the pool is long enough to also swim in (+ whirlpool part). But all this would only be half as good without the great staff, who really make the stay in this beautiful hotel perfect and a special experience, all fantastic nice people individually and as a team. From the first contact via emails we could feel the attention and care, and it only gets better, you find the best hospitality you could wish for in every little detail. The delicious and generous breakfasts were by far the best ones we have eaten in 4 weeks in Thailand, and the restaurant also offers a great menu for dinner. After our arrival we immediately booked 2 additional nights to the originally booked 4 nights. We are grateful to you all, dear Eric, Pitchy, Auf, Yii, Meow, In, Van (and also all other colleagues whose names I unfortunately didn't learn), we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this perfect stay! (For German visitors: Pitchy not only speaks German but also Bayerisch :) )

Everything was incredible about our stay, I am currently writing this from our transfer to Krabi, arranged for us by the hotel. From the moment we landed on the island, we knew we had made the right choice. We were collected from the ferry by the team, and then arrived to a welcome drink and incredible hospitality, with our bags being taken to our room. Our seaview balcony was just so peaceful, and the whole place had the most relaxed feel. Not only were the rooms and facilities amazing, but the staff were the best I have ever encountered. Nothing was too much of an ask, they helped us book excursions and even helped plan our days out. We went the the elephant sanctuary round the corner and it was amazing, highly recommend. We also rented a scooter and it was the highlight of our trip to thailand and the island is best seen by scooter! The breakfast was the best part of my day every day, fresh and served by delightful staff. When I tell you I wish be gushing over this hotel to anyone i meet, it was just a delight. Incredible location, incredible hotel, and THE BEST staff. Thank you for making our stay so lovely, and take this as your sign to book here!!! We will be back 🫶🏼🩷

The Houben is an exceptional Hotel and we would be very happy to come back. We did have a room with a beautiful sea view, with the terrace directly overlooking the ocean. The hotel, restaurant, garden and rooms could not be maintained any better. For me it is always very important that hotel rooms are clean. The room we had was truly spotless, the team is doing a most amazing job! The room was modern, yet cozy and everything was thought of e.g. the cover of the couch was not only washable but also freshly washed and there was even a small sewing kit which I could use to fix one of my shirts. The breakfast at the Houben was great, and the best breakfast we had on our two week trip. What makes this hotel truly outstanding is not only the state of the hotel and the wonderful management of it, but the staff. We have both been amazed at how welcomed we felt and how kind and helpful everybody was. They did help us to organise the pick up and our further journey and a trip in the kindest way possible. The attentiveness is outstanding, e.g. once we have been in the pool pretty late at night and somebody from the restaurant came out and turned on the whirlpool part of it again. The staff is doing an extraordinary job! The Houben is a great place to stay and surely deserves a 10/10 rating. Due to the staff, they would deserve 100/10, which is sadly not possible. We can highly recommend it!!!

The Houben is a small boutique hotel with 15 rooms - so it has very personal feel and the staff are incredibly courteous and attentive. The setting is idyllic - set in the side of the cliffs, overlooking a completely quiet and unspoilt section of the ocean, with a lovely infinity pool and fabulous views all round. The bedroom was spacious, beautifully designed and very clean and the air conditioning was a god-send in the heat. We also enjoyed a romantic 5 course special sunset dinner for two on the night of our arrival - the setting was just magical and the food was exceptionally good quality! Breakfast is included and has a generous selection of cooked and cold options, with both western and Thai options available.

This really is a fantastic hotel, so I am being very picky when I mention these things:- There is no task-lighting in the bathroom, so it is difficult to apply makeup successfully or to shave accurately. The fitness centre has very limited equipment and the air conditioning doesn't work very well - which makes it hard to work out in the heat. The Houben is in a small village, which means dining and going out options in the area are limited - this was a bonus for us, as we wanted to chill and relax, but worth knowing before you go.

The best sunsets you’ll ever see. Well positioned for a (very) quiet holiday. Lovely and helpful staff. Very friendly. I have never slept as well as I did here.

Although there was a variety of choice for breakfast I would have liked to see something a bit more Thai on the menu, rather than bacon and eggs. The property was a little tired. We had paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi on the veranda but found a hole in its base and so couldn’t use it. The staff were extremely apologetic and made up for the issue, which didn’t end up to be a huge problem as there is a jacuzzi section in the pool.

The Houben exceeded our expectations in every way possible. From seamlessly coordinated day trips to flawless pier and door-to-door hotel transfers, every detail was thoughtfully arranged. The culinary experience was exceptional, with a highlight being the unforgettable romantic sunset dinner, ranking among our top 5 meals ever. The attentive staff consistently greeted us warmly and ensured our every need was met. The breathtaking views, refreshing pool, and serene, clean rooms provided the perfect retreat after adventurous days exploring. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the Saladan pier and is conveniently situated within walking distance of restaurants, bars, spas, and even a 7-11. We wholeheartedly recommend The Houben for an unforgettable getaway.
