We enjoyed a terrific four night stay in bungalow 2. The bungalows are spotlessly clean, cosy and well equipped. We appreciated the tea/coffee/milk sugar etc and were grateful for the the other thoughtful gifts in the fridge. Our hosts ensured prior to arrival that we were advised to bring food supplies with us. The bungalow had everything we needed to prepare meals for ourselves and it was terrific to have our own sheltered bbq outside. We both enjoyed chilling out on the verandah and having a drink whilst listening to the birds and the sound of the waves from the beach directly across the road. It made us smile seeing beautiful butterflies (including the vibrant Ulysses butterfly) in the lovely gardens surrounding the property. The bed was comfy and the bungalow has great ventilation with screened louvre windows and it was nice to have the option of having the ceiling fan as well. Other thoughtful touches include having a powerful torch, large umbrellas, personal insect repellent if needed (we didn't need it) Our host Dean was very welcoming and knowledgeable and obviously takes great pride and care of this wonderful accommodation.

There was nothing we didn't like about this fab bungalow. The location in the forest and directly opposite Thornton Beach and Thornton's Cafe was ideal. Terrific being able to park directly outside our bungalow. Highly recommend this clean, simple, cosy accommodation in the heart of the rainforest and we were very impressed with the friendly organised host.

Dean and Joadi are indeed wonderful hosts, very kind and considerate. They provide excellent information about the area, and are always very helpful. The bungalow I rented had all the essentials for a ideal stay in the Daintree National Park, I particularly appreciated the details such as; the torch, the umbrellas, and the beach chairs! The barbecue area is also most definitely a highlight. The location is ideal since the property is equidistant from the entry of the park, and Cape Tribulation, the main attractions are easily reachable by car, and literally 50 meters away from Thorthon beach. So if you are looking to explore this wonderful place of the world enjoying a simple yet well organised accommodation without draining your budget this is most definitely the best place to choose! The location was fantastic. There was a cafe across the road (Thornton cafe, limited opening hours, great chips) and a lovely beach. The boardwalks in the vicinity were fantastic, and we saw a cassowary mum & chick on the road near Noah Beach, so who could want for more. Expect a few bugs, but you are in the rainforest, so you should expect this. It is very hot in summer (December), and there is no air conditioning, though the ceiling fan made it bearable. There aren't many places to eat out at night and there are no cooking facilities at the bungalows, so come prepared, or eat out at somewhere like Tides restaurant (very quirky - try it and you'll see what I mean) in Cape Tribulation, but remember that places close early (8pm)

If you go in summer, but need good air con, you may get a little warm here...

Me and my partner loved our 5 night stay here! The bungalows are located in an excellent area and were very clean when we arrived. The shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. The bungalows have a really nice porch area which we sat on quite a lot! They’re really cosy little places to stay in the rainforest. The owners Dean and Jodie are really friendly and helpful and Dean was very informative on things to do in the area! Definitely recommend!

We stayed in the big bungalow and what an absolute gem of a find! There is everything you need and more in the kitchen. The house is kitted out and decorated beautifully. A lovely front veranda to sit out - or sit in the lush garden around the side/back. Would definitely recommend and return.

Nothing not to like. Some reviews have said that it’s on the road so you hear the cars, but we did not find this an issue at all. (The big bungalow is set back) it’s great being that close to the beach that you can hear the waves at night.

Perfect location. Beautiful.

Would have like but more light to cook at. Fumbled down steps at one point. Suggest owners make sure visitors know there are hardly any restaurants open after bad summer of rain and cyclone. I found out accidentally that we had to bring food. Other 4 guests did not know either. Fed 4people with bread and Jam and gave them milk for a cuppa. Important info like no food places available should be shared well in advance.

A beautifully furnished bungalow, looking into a lovely garden fringed with rainforest and with a glimpse of the sea at beautiful Thornton Beach.. Big blue Ulysses butterflies fluttered amongst the flowers, a cassowary visited at breakfast time. A wonderful bathroom! Friendly owners with great tips for our Daintree sojourn; they even organised wildlife activities.

The road reconstruction trucks were noisy and too fast; as the cyclone damage is repaired these trucks should disappear.

This place in truly amazing! We loved staying here for 2 nights and regretted that we could not stay longer. Although the whole area is off the grid (relying on solar power) it has everything we needed, even a washing machine (cold only) what we didn't expect. Be aware however that due to the humid conditions, it takes very long to dry the clothes (no tumbler available of course). The lack of A/C was no problem at all as the whole building has ventilation blinds that can be opened and there are remote controlled fans everywhere so you can have a nice breeze during the night. Be sure to bring everything you need to the Daintree forest as there are not many shopping opportunities. The kitchen is large and together with the BBQ grill we could cook a delicious meal. The owner took much time to show us around and explained us everything. She was super friendly!

The bungalows are set just across the road from Thornton Breach, which is absolutely stunning. They are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The little extras such as the tea and coffee facilities were great and there was a lovely balcony with table and chairs along with a private bbq area. Our host, Dean was amazing. Very friendly and so kind to us when our car didn’t start. He did all he could to get it working, but to no avail and when we had to wait for 4 hours for a mechanic he let us to stay at the property and kept us company while we waited, telling us stories and interesting facts about the area. We would DEFINITELY recommend Thornton Beach Bungalows and would love to stay there again one day.

Outdoor sitting and bbq area. Bed was comfortable. Straight across the road to lovely Thornton beach and the good cafe with a view of the beach. Central for sights which is good if you're staying 2 nights and you can revisit favourite walks. Hint: Crocodile express Daintree River cruise was v good and you can use the ticket more than once.

Bit of traffic noise late afternoon but generally quiet. Room is small but we knew that and it was big enough. Cafe isn't open till about 10am and only for lunch except does Saturday fish and chip night. This might change but bring some supplies with you.
