1. The most amazing location with fantastic views on to the forrest and a mountain. 2. Matt is the kindest host, who has heaps of recommendations if you're unsure about your itinerary! Matt has created a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the house; you get to meet everyone else who's staying at the house and chat together during breakfasts. 3. Delicious exotic fruit platter, and homemade jams for breakfast every morning.

Nothing not to like. I would like to mention, however (just for people to know), that IF you are a traveler who prefers to keep to themselves, then I'd recommend you to book a cottage, rather than a room.

This place was incredible!! The house and the garden are truly magical, and Matt is an amazing host! Our two-day stay here definitely made our whole trip to Cape Trib. Unfortunately we had to leave, because we already booked our next stay. My advise if you are still planning your trip: stay as long as you have in this place, and just make a (couple) trips to Cape Trib, it's very close. If you are looking for that truly off-grid Daintree experience, this place is all you need!

Everything about the B&B was amazing! Only thing about Cape Trib itself is that quite a lot was closed because of the damage from the cyclone in December.

Epiphyte BnB is in a stunning location; it has a great atmosphere and real character; an amazing host - Matt really wants you to have the best stay possible. Super value for money. And I tried more tropical fruits in one breakfast than in the rest of my life!

It's not a problem with the BnB but I do think people try to cram too much into a day or two's trip from Cairns. You end up rushing around and missing the beach walks, or skipping a national park boardwalk, or deciding to skip Ocean Safaris snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef. This is a hard to reach destination and worth a proper stay.

Epiphyte was the most beautiful place I have stayed at, in the middle of the rainforest. Was lucky to see a huge cassowary in the forest behind the cottage! Matt was warm and very helpful and we had some good time over board games in the evening. The fruit platter was the best possible breakfast I could hope for! I would definitely want to go back and spend more time at the B&B, to relax and enjoy the nature.

Everything! It is situated right by the National Forest in a beautiful peaceful setting. The room was clean and bright with a large terrace looking directly at the forest. The birdsong in the morning was special. Matt is an excellent host, who gave insights into the local area and spent quality time with his guests. His breakfast fruit plates are really as good as all the other reviews have mentioned.

The phone connection north of the ferry is spotty. There is nothing any of the property owners can do about this.

Fantastic place in the middle of the rainforest, great host who gives great advice on walks, tours etc and who is so passionate about nature around him. Truly a great stay here, waking up with the sound of birds, enjoying a great terrace view, tasting exotic fruits at breakfast... we just loved it ! Paradise on earth for us !

So many things are amazing about this place but the best has to be the location! Nestled literally in the Daintree Rainforest, the sights and sounds of the wildlife are spectacular 24hrs a day, which we immersively experienced with our outdoor bedroom! Matt is a fantastic host and local guide with strong recommendations, suited to what you're hoping to experience during your stay. The entire property is off grid but without a lack of comfort. The harvested rainwater and solar produced electricity provide all the needs of Epiphyte's guests - drinking water, hot showers and wall socket charging. 10/10 - easily the best property we've stayed in and will certainly be returning if we find ourselves in this part of the world again.

Nothing.

Epiphyte B&B is an amazing and peaceful place with a friendly atmosphere. It is a beautiful location away from the busy tourist spots that are all within an easy drive. A fantastic place to relax and soak up nature. The host was very generous and shared excellent knowledge of the area and things to do.

My room was not lockable. This wasn't a problem as I felt very safe there. But just something to be aware of in case you are not comfortable with it.

Extremely warm reception by the owner Matt. We had a lovely stay at the Hibiscus cottage. Matt provided very helpful informations, was just a great person and caring manager of our stay. We had a wonderful breakfast every day with lots of fresh fruit. We will come back for an unforgettable stay at the Epiphyte. Highly recommended, best rating!

there was nothing that we didn't like

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Matt’s cabin. He welcomed us with a big heart and everything we needed at our stay were there. We also enjoyed chatting with other guests at night and breakfast time. As there is not many houses around, walking back from the nearby backpacker after dinner on the starry night was one of the highlights. We would love to stay longer next time and chat more with Matt, probably over a vino or two!

NOTHING AT ALL!
