Daintree Crocodylus is set in a stunning rainforest, with cabins and communal areas thoughtfully integrated into the surroundings, preserving the forest’s natural beauty. Each cabin is surrounded by enough lush vegetation to provide a sense of privacy that really enhances the feeling of being immersed in these ancient woods. Inside the cabin was cozy and relaxing, though it could benefit from more hooks and a surface to set things on, like a table or shelf.
Before arriving, I received several reminders about the camp's rules and policies. I arrived near sunset during a heavy rainstorm, tired and eager to settle in, but was instead sat down at a picnic table, soaking wet, for a lengthy review of the rules—something I felt was unnecessary after already being well-informed. For safety, I suggest Crocodylus consider leaving some lights on in the bathrooms overnight. Navigating the large public bathrooms in the dark, with slick, muddy floors (it’s the rainforest!), can be a challenge, especially when half-asleep. While I understand it’s part of the natural environment, a few lights in the bathrooms would greatly improve safety.

What an outstanding place! This is a must stay spot for those who wish to blend with the Daintree forest/jungle and most importantly, prefer stay in more pristine nature. We also had a magic feeling when swimming at night in their wonderful pool with rainforest leaves above it and gazing at well visible stars. You hear so much around (especially at night) and may also see some lovely rainforest creatures that otherwise you would not spot. It was a dry period then, so we did not experience any mosquitos. They also serve wonderful food and the staff is fantastic. But this place may be not for those who prefer tiled/glassed/cushioned ambience or music/noise- better go elsewhere so not to spoil the tranquillity of this spot. We would definitely stay there again as it was one of most memorable stays during our full month trip in Australia.

Hotel is located in the middle of the Daintree rainforest and is one of the most unique hotels we have stayed in. It is built to blend in into jungle environment and is surrounded by jungle from all sides. The hosts created very special vibe for hotel guests - from warm greeting (aka check-in), shared board games, their own “jungle walk” in the hotel territory, food and drinks available for breakfast and dinner (and self-catering shared kitchen and BBQ), to goodbye (aka check-out). Take a note that this hotel is quite different – there is no power outlets inside cabins (you can use power outlets in main shared area) and the power is cut at night and during the midday (to save energy and to allow to better feel and hear the jungle). For us it was really nice to hear all the jungle sounds during the night. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.

It is a very relaxed environment and we love being in the 'open air' type setting. The family rooms without bathrooms are actually 2 seperate rooms which our 6 and 9yo did not like the idea of - we were kindly offered an upgrade to a room we could all be in together and as a bonus it also had a bathroom. The food was DELICIOUS and was the best food we bought all holidays! There is also a shared kitchen where you can make your own breakfast/lunch/dinner. The room we were in did feel like it wasn't as clean as expected, however that may have been because it hadn't been prepared for us to arrive. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area again!

How to describe this adventure? You're in the middle of the rainforest, in a big tent with only a bed inside your room. You can't lock the door, and the journey starts after sunset. It's dark outside, no electricity, the rainforest wakes up. You hear strange noises, you hear the rain, you hear howls, you hear everything. Little rodents and bugs enter your room. You start a long, long, long night... You think it's scary? Yes it is. You think it's crazy? Yes it is. But damn hell, you'll never forget about this! Don't think, just do it, it's a memorable experience :)

Loved the vibe and the staff, as they clearly wrote it's for those who want to connect with nature, disconnect with technology, be surrounded by the rainforest etc., and are comfortable with a the basics (bedroom, fan, toilet block etc.). If you're not comfortable with the basics, it's certainly not for you! The meals offered in the evening were plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced which we appreciated a lot as they could charge an arm and a leg as there aren't exactly many options. Would definitely recommend to friends/family :)
Not "didn't like" per se, but having a set of wooden drawers in the bedroom would have been lovely! It wouldn't take away from anything, and would allow for a little organisation :)

Amazing jungle setting. hosts Sally and Steve were friendly, informative and made our stay very enjoyable. Recommend doing the night jungle walk with Odin and look out for the Cassawary in the morning! The pool is refreshing on a hot day. Highly recommend this, it’s a hidden gem! Cafe food was lovely home cooked food. Lovely sticky date pudding!
This isn’t for everyone because it is immersed in the jungle but we enjoyed the creatures and noises and feeling one with nature.

Our cabin was perfect, with so much space, minimalist but rustic and wide. There were small bugs, but there are anti-bug nets on the beds to keep em away. The surroundings were exotic and super beautiful, the perfect rural experience. The common areas were fully supplied and handy, and the owner was super helpful, kind and friendly. She even relocated us to a cabin separated from a school trip , so we could relax properly, and she also recommended us some cool places to visit nearby, the schedules of the tides for some beaches, and lookout peaks. And, the dog was so lovely! We totally recommend it and would definitely repeat the visit!
Maybe, to update the anti-bug nets, as they were a bit damaged with some small holes, but apart from that, It was neat!

It's a really wild place, the kind of spot where you go to connect with nature and disconnect with the rest. Very valuable experience. I liked the location and the pool that helped me survive the heat, we also had a pizza cooked there. Shockingly, there was a wifi, strong enough to send a text message ;)
Humidity haha but that's nothing to do with the hotel (fan in the room to help you survive). Watch out for spiders and other insects, have a spray on you. The breakfast wasn't open, you can use the kitchen, so prepare yourself upfront, because all the shops require comeback via ferry ($47 return)

Sally and Steve, the owners, welcomed us warmly! They made sure we had all the information on the best spots and sites for our few days up in the daintree and the meals - breakfast and dinner - were delicious! Monty, the dog, is a total (chill) sweetheart to make sure you’re extra enjoying the rainforest. Do the night walk with the young guide! We saw so many cool things and learned a lot.
Nothing! It’s wonderful!
