Our night at The Pig Inn was only meant to be a stop off on my way to Scotland with my daughter, and it ended up being the most beautiful hotel we stayed in and the other places that followed couldn’t beat it! The room we had was incredible, with a little living room and separate bedroom. The view out over the sheep in the field was so lovely. Great facilities, and a really relaxing and comfortable bath. The staff were all so friendly and warm, and were so nice to my toddler. I wish I’d taken all their names to thank them properly and I’d definitely love to come back

Nothing, it was perfect

We were in room 7, which was great. Very comfortable, and on the ground floor, so we had a door onto the garden and private seating. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden with a drink to finish the night. Finding a fan in the wardrobe was very welcome, as it was the hottest night of the year! Lots of options for breakfast, and it was really tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We have already booked the same room for next year!!

It could do with a hook in the bathroom to hang clothes up when having a shower.

The friendliness of all the staff was exceptional! They were like old friends even though we had only just met them. The cleanliness is of the highest standard that you don't always find in 5* star accommodation! There was a wedding on when we stayed but this certainly did not affect our enjoyment. The location is fabulous and boy did we sleep well 😴 Would certainly recommend staying here and we'll be returning for a longer stay next time. Thank you everyone at The Pig Inn.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was cosy and nicely decorated with tartan finishings and was very warm, nice touches with the toiletries and biscuits. Breakfast was delicious, bacon and sausages were especially tasty, the veggie black pudding was also really tasty, toast made from proper doorstep bread, coffee was also very tasty. The renovated barn building was lovely to eat in for breakfast and bright, airy and well-lit. Room and breakfast combo deal was especially good value for money and staff were smiley and helpful.

Breakfast was lovely (especially the bacon and proper doorstep bread toast) but served on plates that were just a bit too small for all the delicious grub on them. Butter could have been warmed up a bit too before being served.

Very welcoming & cheerful staff who did everything to make us feel comfortable. Beds & pillows very comfortable. Good shower. Great restaurant with good menu & generous portion sizes. Peaceful location looking out over fields.

Need better signage outside…was half covered by trees & The Pig Inn wasn’t mentioned just the Peppered Pig so bit confused. Nice terrace outside but maybe just tidy it up a bit/cushions on seats..

The breakfast (and the evening meal) was excellent. Freshly made with good quality products. The room was clean and fresh and the whole venue had a lovely decor and feel about it. The staff were helpful and very friendly.

There was no air conditioning in the room and we were on the third floor. The room remained quite warm even with the skylight open. I can see it would get quite hot in the height of Summer. It would also have been helpful to have a hand towel in addition to the bath towels that were left.

Lovely room. Very comfortable and cosy. We liked the variety of cushions, pillows and blankets. The room had everything we needed, such as a hairdryer, iron, wardrobe with hangers, etc. Bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. The highlight was the breakfast in the beautiful barn room.

Other than one big cobweb in one corner of the room, absolutely perfect...and I can't really blame any spiders for wanting to stay haha!

My wife would highly recommend The Pig Inn! She stayed for one night due to a work conference the next day. The staff were all lovely and helpful with her room ready early. Lunch was great as was dinner, really big portions and piping hot. The room was clean and warm and had plenty of amenities. All in all a great stay.

You could hear a little of the traffic but nothing that disturbed sleep. It is a busy road to come out of.

Maddie greeted us straight away and was so warming. She was fabulous showing us to our room and on hand if we needed anything. She was a pure delight. Nothing was too much trouble for her

To be nit-picky, there wasn't a plug not near a mirror for doing our hair. But that was easy to resolve by moving the mirror. Lol

If I could give the whole experience of staying at the Pig Inn more than five stars, I would! We were traveling down from Edinburgh and were going to be arriving late, so I called up to ask whether we might be able to eat at the restaurant. Eileen, (a gem of a person and member of staff - so much so, that my husband and I thought she owned the place!) said that, as the kitchen would be closing at 8.30pm, she could take our orders and the food would be waiting for us once we got there. She actually stayed on the phone with me and read out the whole menu for us to choose what we would like to eat! I couldn't believe it. The food was ready for us when we got there, and was absolutely delicious! Eileen made sure we were happy and comfortable and really couldn't do enough for us. She really made our stay so much more special and memorable. Thank you, Eileen! The premises themselves are immaculate and spotlessly clean and very very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to stay at. I hope we return to the area because if we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here. Bravo to all at the Pig Inn! A complete gem of a place.
