Simple, contactless , check-in process, and a great online 'pack' provided giving all sorts of useful local information. Excellent communal facilities - free hot drinks and porridge available, very well stocked, some other kitchen facilities available, and large dining area, games, books etc. provided. Nice, big, bright and open feeling space. Limited contact with staff due to the contactless check in and out, but when we did see them they were polite and friendly. Comfortable bed, good size fridge in the room and spacious bathroom with lots of storage space and a great shower (husband is a 'shower Goldilocks' and rated this shower the best of our entire Canadian roadtrip). Plenty of free parking. Convenient location for access on and off the highway.

Rooms are a little small in terms of floor space - the bed does take up the majority of the space - but they've laid out the room well to work around this, with benches etc. where luggage can be tucked away. We were in an accessible room, so possibly this isn't the case for all rooms - our bathroom was very spacious so possibly that had a knock on effect to the bedroom size? In any case, communal areas would be good for lounging if you felt the room to small to spend much time.

The location is brilliant. View at window. Across the road from the river which has a wide trail. You can walk to ol' town where there are a number of pubs & restaurants & shops. The open lobby-lounge area is bright and comfortable with a 24/7 coffee/tea station. There is an open back deck and picnic tables on the grass behind the lodge away from the street. The whole facility is very clean. Bed comfy. Good for a single.

Room 101 very small and a bit dark for my taste. No table. Tight for two people. On the ground floor, facing the street. The noise was minimal and traffic light in the evening. Common wall not well insulated and easy to hear the TV from the next room. Quiet time is 10pm; so, that helped. Would stay again... on an upper floor.

We had such a great time! The lodge itself is really cozy with an awesome common area and seating! Big summer camp vibes in the best way. It is a 20 min walk to downtown Golden where there are tons of great restaurants and shops, not to mention the kicking horse river which is right outside! The water is so blue and we had such a great time walking both sides of the river to and from downtown every night. We didn’t use the back deck, but it would be a really great place to come with a group and all use separate rooms. We would absolutely visit again!

The loft bed was a little creaky

The layout of the room was interesting, and made use of the ceiling height. My son loved the stairs. The room did require some fix ups or reno but otherwise I liked the coziness of the cottage home feel. The staff were friendly and knew a lot about the area and gave good recommendations on hikjng trails and things to do. Room was very clean and tidy. Bed mattress and pillows were comfortable.

The shower head with an option of a handheld would be nice. The location of the outlets for device charge could be better thought out.

I felt like home at Basecamp Lodge because of the cozy and comfy atmosphere in the common area and the kitchen. Staff were helpful, guiding us to find attractions in Golden. Also, you could get discounts on some of the tours with their promo code! This place is one hour away from Lake Louise, and the drive would be on a scenic road.

Noises from the upper floor, which was expected because the whole building is made of wood. Ear plugs were available in the bathroom, just in case!

We loved our stay at Basecamp Lodge. The self check in was simple and it was handy having a room code so we didn't have to share a key. The room was clean, the beds were really comfortable with good pillows and the bathroom was clean with a good hot shower. The shared lounge and kitchen area were great with free hot drinks 24/7, an ice machine and various appliances to use. We used this area to prepare our packed lunch each day. We didn't see many staff but those we did see were helpful and friendly. It is on the outskirts of town but 5-10 minute walk along the river to downtown where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Also plenty of parking

The walls are a bit thin and there was a lot of noise from the room next door to ours on the first night. After this we didn't hear anyone (we stayed 3 nights) There are ear plugs provided in the bathroom

We were a little worried prior to our stay about noise having read a few of the more recent reviews, but we weren’t troubled in the night by anything. You can hear footsteps above but this didn’t happen for too long (also nothing different to what you might get in any other hotel/property). The room itself was clean and comfortable and it provided us an easy base for our one night stay in Golden. The views from the window were lovely to wake up to!

Check in was very easy. Staff were excellent, but not always available. Room was clean, but small, just big enough for all of the beds. The common area was big and allowed for groups to meet, allowing privacy. Also there were picnic tables outside on the deck offered other options to visit.

We left early but there was no one to check us out. I didn’t notice that we could have done this by text or email until it was well past the time for check out.

Lovely log cabin type building with large entrance area and lots of parking. Across the street from the river. The breakfast area (I cant recall if the room included breakfast or if this was an added bonus) has porridge, coffee and teas available (no cost) and an area for heating food and hot water as well (which was nice).

Room was quite tight. Not much room getting around the bed. And bathroom was quite tight as well with not much room for your toiletries. Hotel was a few blocks from the main strip (10 minute walk) and in an industrial area (was quiet though).

The place is beautiful with a cozy common area. It was very easy to check in and check out. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Even though they don’t provide breakfast, they had instant oats that were enough for us as a breakfast. They also have an area with a microwave and a coffee machine. Great stay overall!

The only bad thing about this place is the noise - you can hear a lot of what is happening in the other rooms. Sometimes it even feels like neighbours are in your room :D but I think hotel is aware of this problem, so they provide you with the earplugs to use during the night time - it solves the problem.
