The hotel is beautiful, the staff are lovely and helpful and the facilities and location are second to none, highly recommend.

Be aware there is a recent change where you now need to provide a £50 deposit at check in on top of the rate for this premium hotel. This has been upped from the previous £1.01 hold. I have stayed here multiple times and as excellent as the hotel is, having to pay a deposit which will be kept from you for 2 weeks after checkout is a joke. Now there is no difference in outlay between this hotel and the many apartments available in close proximity with much more space and amenities such as jacuzzis, balconies etc

Great location

We arrived before check in and our room was ready but they wanted to charge £10 per hour to check in early. Not really acceptable if the room was ready anyway. We could have hung our clothes etc rather than have to do it at the end of the day

All was as one would expect of a 4* hotel. All the staff, whatever their roles, were extremely helpful and friendly. There was one issue (see below). HOWEVER when the issue was raised when we checked out we were immediately offered a 15% discount as compensation. All dealt with very well and appropriately and in a friendly way.

It was a heatwave week when we stayed and the Air Con in the bedrooms was inoperative, and being a very tall building there were no opening widows. Although the issue could not be resolved, we were given a discount on our stay - see above.

The room we had was a standard room and had everything we required for a night's stay. It was clean and comfortable and was well placed for our visit to Birmingham. Views of the canal and beyond from our room window were breathtaking. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

There wasn't anything not to like except perhaps to say our room could have done with a little updating but was more than adequate for our needs. The air conditioning wasn't working during our stay but we had already been made aware of this before our arrival and we were given the chance of cancelling the room with a full refund if we had wished. There was a good fan provided in our room which kept the room cool during the night. It should be highlighted that the key card for the room operates the lift as a security measure to access the hotel floors. It is waved over a pad in the lift to start the lift.

Breakfast a huge disaster and disappointment... .. they should of refunded our money

To be honest I was apprehensive as I booked then saw some bad reviews. But actually, easy check in and friendly staff, room on 23rd floor was immaculate, clean, smart contemporary decor. Air con just the right temperature, comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, great view with a tasty breakfast on top floor Marco Pierre white restaurant. Just what I would expect from a modern city hotel in a great location near restaurants, bars and 10mins from Grand Central.

If im going to be picky, the hallway carpet had some spillage stains, and we popped to the bar after our evening out, not long after 10pm and it was closed, although it was a monday night, so no big deal, everything else was spot on!

The breakfast looked small but was actually very filling. It was really nice and hot and was served really quickly. The room was huge and the bed was extremely comfortable i didnt want to get up. Would come back definitely. I don't know what was the bad reviews about the heating being to hot, as the heat in our room was fine.

The only thing I'd have to complain about was that when I booked the room the pictures of the balcony advertised sun loungers which was not on the balcony, which I wasnt fussed about in the end as the weather wasnt the best.

Hotel room was excellent. Very spacious, and airy. We loved the panoramic views of the city. Gigantic bed and very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. We would definitely choose to stay again.

Unfortunately the room was missing the complimentary necessities such as milk for tea or coffee. Also no soap of any description in the bathroom to wash your hands. We had an empty box of what I can presume would have been bathroom items like soap. When we have stayed in their sister hotels in Cardiff and Exeter they have had lots of little items to enhance your stay. This room didn’t have any.

The location was convenient and loved the balcony and room set up. I liked how the security by the lifts were checking if everyone was a guest at the hotel, it was nice to know not anyone could just walk in. The breakfast was amazing and the restaurant staff were great. It was nice to eat breakfast with a view of Birmingham.

We were staying in a room with a balcony. We had no outdoor furniture, no ash tray or even a little table. We could see below us lots of outdoor furniture. When I rang reception to ask if we should have some furniture outside, we were told not necessarily. They said no one would bring any up, and if we wanted to sit outside we should use the chairs inside. I wouldn’t mind if there was a valid reason but there wasn’t, or if there was it wasn’t explained to me. There was a sign on the door to the balcony saying please use the ash tray and something else, how can we use what we don’t have? The reception staff member were not very helpful. The bed was very squeaky and creaky on the one side. The room could have done with a long mirror, so you can check outfits when getting ready

The hotel location was great as very close to train station, shops and casino. Hotel suite on 24th floor had great views over the city and the large king bed was very comfy, also the walk in shower had plenty of room and was the best shower in a hotel I've ever had. The restaurant on 25th floor also had amazing panoramic views, the breakfast was very good and restaurant staff very friendly.

Only minor things, the carpets in my suite and in the corridor were very dirty and stained so could do with being replaced. Also would of liked a properly staffed reception desk as 3 times had to wait for staff to come from back room as desk is on camera, and once had to wait 10 mins as receptionist was upstairs in restaurant getting her food, but when she arrived was very friendly and helpful.
