Wonderful location in a beautiful and typically Devon village, nearby to Dartmouth and Torbay towns, ideal for our purposes. Hosts and bar regulars all friendly and helpful. Excellent food and service, from dinner to breakfast. Bar / eating area, offered a typical country pub atmosphere, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable time. Rooms comfortable, with good amenities, beds and hot water. Great to have a full fridge and fresh milk in the room. Good value for money considering the area and being a weekend visit in Summer. We were blessed with exceptional weather which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Over all very good, however, the twin room was a tad too small for our friends. They managed but would have preferred more space. We felt the pub could do with a refresh - the rooms need a little TLC, paint work, grouting etc. Outside similarly could do with a sweep and spruce up. Be aware that access to Cornworthy is down several typically narrow Devon roads, with passing places, which were a challenge in a large car, especially in the dark!

Tucked away in the narrow lanes between Totnes and Dartmouth you'll find the quintessential village pub in the quintessential South Devon village. Working hard to ensure that this welcoming hostelry is the heart of a community that clearly enjoys it as much as we did. The bar was rammed on the Friday evening. Sue and Graham are welcoming and outgoing hosts ensuring that our two night stay was comfortable and sociable. We dined in both evenings on delicious homemade food, perfectly cooked, locally sourced, fresh, tasty and good value. Washed down with well kept beer and decent wine. The thoughtful little touches made this stay something special. Beautiful fresh flowers on the bar, plenty of clothes hangers in the room, a box of chocolate coated shortbread biscuits next to the tea tray, fresh milk in the room fridge, Radox for the super-sized bath. All very clean and tidy. We felt well looked after. Breakfast was all we could wish for - full English on day one and smoked Haddock with poached egg on day two. Freshly made Espresso coffees to perk us up for the day of exploring delightful Devon.

Access to Cornworthy down the narrow Devon lanes can be challenging, but delightful. Drivers need to be patient, courteous and skilled at reversing. It's worth the effort.

Sue and Graham were extremely friendly and hospitable. The food was excellent, tasty and fresh, and the room had everything we needed without all the useless frippery you often find! The small kitchen was a bonus for washing up picnic things and there was also a sitting area with books and magazines to read.

The only downside was the steep steps and sill up into the bedroom area from the garden; a grab handle would be useful. There's a steep walk down from the car park but the pub is built on the side of a hill, so nothing to be done about that except maybe warn anyone who is not fully mobile. It wouldn't stop us staying there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of our holiday to England and really enjoyed it. Upon arrival Grahame gave us a quick introduction to the Inn and showed us to our room --- and despite us having arrived later than we said (bcs our sat nav got us very lost), and we had arrived unprepared for the remoteness of the area, he very kindly agreed to feed us in the Pub - and what an incredible meal! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the little treats in our room were so thoughtful and appreciated. The ensuite was bright and spacious and had a very large tub as well as a separate shower. The breakfast served at this Inn is outstanding! Sue is an amazing chef and serves a varied selection of cold and cooked to order choices. My husband said the coffee made by Grahame was one of the best he's ever had. Breakfast was wholesome and plentiful and we couldn't have asked for more. This Inn is centrally located to visit Totnes, Dartmoor National Park, and Dartmouth by car - and the Park and Ride in Dartmouth is reasonable and worth using. An added bonus for us was the ease of car parking here, at the back of the property. The Inn's hosts Grahame and Sue are friendly and helpful and the food served at this Inn and Pub really deserves a special mention.

Things could have been cleaner in the bathroom.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 day stay at Hunters Lodge Inn. The welcome is warm and genuine. Sue, Graham and Sam were kind, helpful and entertaining hosts. We mixed with the locals who clearly care greatly about their village pub. We ate there each evening - the menu was varied and the quality of the food was excellent. We occupied the “Queen” room which was comfortable and well appointed. The situation is close to Totnes and Dartmouth and convenient for exploring that part of Devon. The frequent train service from Totnes to Plymouth and Exeter is good.

Nothing. The lanes in Devon require care in negotiating.

Exceptional food, clean towels every day, Suger, tea and coffee replenished every day. Graham advised us that the twin room was small and that 4 nights may be to much, this happened before our stay. The room was a little small but certainly not the smallest we have stayed in. Our hosts, Graham and Sue, were very friendly and ablging.

We found the sink in the bathroom a little small.

Large room and large bathroom with huge bath. The breakfast's are very nice and plenty to choose from. Nice busy bar, we stayed Fri and Sat. Big car park at the rear. Park and ride near for Dartmouth. Great round Robin trip from Dartmouth, cruise to Totnes and bus to Paignton and train back to Dartmouth. Graham and Sue great Hosts. Unbelievably they are from where we live in Huddersfield and had pubs there too.

The shower is too small, you can't move when you're in it and we are small people.

We had a lovely comfortable 4 night stay, Graham and Sue were very welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious and the evening menu was varied and equally as good. We recommend the monkfish and king prawn Thai yellow curry which was amazing! The location was great for Paignton and Totnes and we would definitely book again if in the area.

Beautifully located in a very quiet location. The Hunters Lodge Inn is a proper village pub which the locals enjoy, nicely kept ales and superb food, the breakfasts are especially good…brace yourself for the full English! Rooms are clean and comfortable with an excellent shower. The host Grahame and Sue are very welcoming and great company.

Personal service to a professional standard. Graham and Sue made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Very comfortable, recently refurbished and well appointed room. Fresh milk in the fridge. Quality biscuits. Guidebooks for the area. Public bar well stocked. Restaurant food and service very good. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Attractive local walks with lovely views and the only noise is bird song. Easy access to Dartmouth.

Accessing Cornworthy village is via narrow lanes.
