The place is beautiful. The attention to detail is second to none. The staff are amazing. The food is exceptional, fab portions and great variety, from afternoon tea, to sandwich snacks and homemade chips to full on amazing dinner. The breakfast had the best local farmhouse sausages ever tasted and the omelette is huge! Now the room ... Dream Alliance - beautiful, all the mod cons, inc air con, dyson fan, bose tv and speaker, inner wardrobe lighting, under floor bathroom heating , Noble Isle toiletries - just wow. The cocktail bar is lovely - maybe a little too hot, the terrace was closed due to the weather but looks lovely.

I arrived looking forward to my two for one cocktail which I enjoyed last time we stayed , to be told it wasn’t available on Sundays which puzzled me as we stayed last time on a Sunday , then later in the bar at 6.10 I saw on the menu that the offer was on On Sundays but was told it was now too late!!! Thankfully I told the bar lady who also said she thought it wasn’t on offer on Sundays, , and when she checked said yes I was right the offer was on, but I was too late ! I did challenge this because the first time I had asked was at check in at 4.00pm ! Thankfully she allowed me to have the two for one, but it woukd have been better if staff had been familiar with the offer which clearly is advertised as available Sun-Thursday !

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold options. The food, especially the desserts, was excellent with a good selection of vegan options, and is reasonably priced. The cocktail list is really varied, with some lovely dessert cocktails if you can’t manage to actually eat a dessert, and the cocktail lounge is a wonderful place to drink them. There are dog friendly areas. The hotel is small and beautiful with wonderful attention to detail in the rooms. The staff are friendly without being overbearing and Dani is a lovely, friendly host. We’ll definitely visit again.

Having read previous reviews, we had high hopes for our overnight stay at The Farrier. We were not disappointed, From arrival to departure, everything was perfect. We had drinks in the very lively cocktail bar and the service was outstanding! Our dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service once more. Our room, Sea Biscuit, had in it everything you could possibly want or need in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in when away from home. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and one more, service was great. There is absolutely nothing we would have wanted that wasn’t provided, and the attention to all details throughout The Farrier was just impressive! Every aspect of our stay was a pleasure, and the staff were wonderful, providing efficient service with friendliness and a smile. Should we ever return to the area for a stay, The Farrier will definitely be our number one choice. We absolutely loved it! Thank you 😊

This was our 2nd stay after seeing on Four in a bed. Didn't disappoint at all. Food was amazing, the décor is beautiful and it's nice to see Dani mucking in with all the staff which we've seen on both trips. A lot of places you don't see this. And the extra little touches in the rooms are very thoughtful. We will be back!!! We love it!!!!!!! :)

The only downside. We stayed in the Black Beauty room and found that the office next you cold hear most everything. Talking, doors and drawers being opened and closed. We was just dosing off to sleep around 11pm I think it was and was woken but a female yelp and then male and female chatting. That won't put us off staying again, we just won't choose to stay in that room.

About 10 minutes drive from Scarborough, the hotel was easy to find, with a small car park to the far side of it. There was clearly a busy restaurant ongoing but the staff were friendly and very courteous showing us to our room which was a nice touch. The room itself was fabulous, overlooking the small courtyard to the front where people were outside drinking but the noise levels were ok. The room provided a coffee machine as well as general tea/ coffee making facilities and fresh milk in the fridge was nice compared to the small tubs you often get in hotels. The bed was large and very comfortable although the pillows were a bit too soft for us but we've always been fussy over pillows. Robes were provided as were disposable slippers. We ate in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious with good portion sizes and on a par with good restaurants price wise. The staff were always friendly and chatty and we had a drink in the bar before dinner. I get the feeling, The Farrier is frequented by locals which is always a good sign. We had breakfast in the morning and that was good too - I sadly couldn't eat it all though!

The ensuite bathroom seemed to have underfloor heating which we didn't realise and in the morning we found it too hot. Not unbearable though and just meant we needed to wear slippers.

Facilities and decor were amazing! Evening meal was fantastic and had wine pearing with each course. Breakfast was good. Nice little touches in the room with free tea/coffee and toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and to a high standard!

The pillows were uncomfortable and there was a green light on the bedroom ceiling which flashed during the night. There was a boiler in our room which was noisy. Ear plugs and eye masks were provided but the eye mask was too small for my husband.

Everything. I really have no words to describe the perfection of the Old Stables room (loft? Mini-apartment?) I would happily live there forever. The room was huge, beautifully decorated in a fabulous equestrian motif (the Farrier is at the original blacksmith shop), sparkling clean, and too many amenities to list. The food is delicious and plentiful. We had the full English breakfast and it set us up for the whole day! Everyone on staff were really lovely and so kind. I wish we could’ve stayed for more than one night!

There was nothing not to love!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Farrier. The friendly Yorkshire welcome and the continued friendly, accommodating service from owner Dani and her lovely staff was second to none - nothing was too much trouble. The Farrier is beautifully decorated from the public areas to the bedrooms and comfort and cleanliness is exceptional. The Breakfast and Evening meals were to die for - we had every intention of trying other restaurants however always returned to the Farrier for our evening meal which certainly did not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return soon.

Nothing

Had lunch and breakfast there which was excellent. The room and facilities were brilliant and they just go that extra mile and cater for all you need before even having to ask for it. Outside area with a cocktail excellent. Definitely going again but for more than one night as it is so good.

Check out time at 10.30 made us a bit rushed as went to breakfast at 9.00. Was no problem waiting for the brilliant full english which was freshly cooked and as good as anything I've had, but didn't finish until 10.15.
