Super friendly owners who were extremely accommodating - had our room ready for us earlier as we were going to a wedding locally. The bedroom and en-suite were immaculate and an excellent size. The tea/coffee making supplies were fully stocked with a fridge to keep the milk cold. The toiletries in the bathroom smelled gorgeous. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view from the view was lovely and secluded. Our stay was topped off by the most sumptuous breakfast - everything from freshly prepared fruit salad, overnight oats (recipe provided by host), cereal, toast to beautifully cooked breakfasts from local produce. (Some discussion on the correct viscosity of eggs was had - appears I like my eggs like bullets :-) )We would definitely stay again.

The farmhouse was beautifully situated overlooking open fields and rolling hills on all sides. Stayed as we were attending a wedding at Dumfries House. The suite was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. Nicola and Gerry went out of their way (literally) to help us with transport and last minute information, and are very welcoming to dogs big and small, having their own. Breakfast was exceptional, and regardless of whether or not you have a cooked breakfast (recommended), do not miss trying their home-made jam and marmalade. Superb!

Nothing. Very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend. Parking on site. Worth having your own transport or arranging in advance if you’re keen to explore further afield but Ayr, Prestwick Airport and Dumfries House are all a short drive away.

Excellent location, great room, superb breakfast. Very difficult to find much wrong here, as the owners strive for perfection and are very close to this with this set up. Its a nice quiet location, but close to the major areas locally. The hosts could not have been more helpful, and its by far the best B and B we have used this year (usually use about 5 or 6 for short UK breaks in the year)

Only one concern which we raised with the owners and its the extractor fan in the bathroom, which doesn't switch off for about 15 mins...which is not good at night.

Easily the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Nicola and Gerry were the most amazing hosts. They are very warm and welcoming and have put so much care and attention into every detail of their home. The property is spotless, our bedroom was a good size with a huge bed which was so comfortable. The bedroom had a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries were also supplied. Breakfast was amazing with choices galore with delicious home made jams and eggs from their hens. Great parking at the property which is situated in a lovely rural area and close to a few small towns handy for evening meal. A great choice to stopover and handy for the ferries. We will return!

Crofthead Farm House was superb! The location is lovely - secluded and picturesque, exactly what we were looking for. The room was furnished to a high standard, with an extremely comfortable bed and a great bathroom. You also have tea, coffee and bottled water among other options available in your room with fresh milk. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, more than happy to help with any questions or requests you have. Breakfast is another highlight when you stay here, with fresh ingredients, great options and the opportunity to sit with other guests and chat to the hosts. We found the experience to be exceptional from start to finish!

Stunning experience, we loved everything from the start to the end. The bb is nestled jn a lovely rural area, with plenty of space to walk with your dog. Besides, it’s pet friendly and we even had the chance to have our breakfast together with our furry baby in the dining room. He was offered a sausage by the amazing owners of Crofthead. The room was spacious and spotless and the bed… oh, the bed: so comfy and we slept so well. Will be dreaming of it. The house smells good everywhere. And in the morning we had one of the most sumptuous breakfasts ever. Everything is fresh and homemade. My brioche with poached eggs and bacon was stupendous: fresh eggs were amazing. And then the jams, fresh fruit, cross buns , etc. Most of all we loved Nicola and Jerry: a fantastic couple of people we loved to chat with and had even some fun telling each other stories about our country. Can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you so much, Nicola and Gerry, for having made our holiday bellissima!!!

Great food. Some banter over breakfast. Garden suite, which we were in, gave us space to be comfortable . Helpful hints about places to visit were given by Gerry. We loved the dogs, too.

I wanted to walk from b and B but was not sure where to go. The house is on a busy, rural road. Some pointers from the host would have been good. I suppose I could have asked.

We received a very friendly welcome. There was a little fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the shower, when we got it working, was good and powerful. No evening meal available at the farmhouse, but our hostess gave us plenty of recommendations as a result of which we ended up at a good Italian place in Prestwick (Vito's). Breakfast was very good, including excellent home-made jam and marmalade.

We did have a problem starting the shower and had to call for help. To be fair to us, it was not straightforward and other guests are advised to ask for instructions to avoid a morning panic.

What didn't we like!! The location was great, so conveniently placed yet also out in the middle of no where so it was quiet and peaceful. The Owners were super friendly, giving recommendations for doggy friendly pubs and the best walks. The delicious breakfast came with a comedy act from Jerry, and we even got to know some of the other guests! The bed must have been made from clouds, it was so comfortable. The bathroom was huge it could've been another bedroom and it was pristine clean!

Quiet location. The property was inviting, clean & our room was clean with ample room for us & our dog. Nicola & her husband were very welcoming & helpful. The breakfast was excellent & the home made chocolate & orange cake was perfect. The bed & pillows were the comfiest we have had in a B&B, our sleep was uninterrupted & we both slept very well
