My partner and I came to stay for a few days and had the most amazing time. The view from our room was stunning, the staff were so lovely and it was nice that you can choose how sociable you want to be with an optional group breakfast or eat on the terrace area by your room. Just a 4 minute drive away from São Vicente with the most perfect sunset spots and a little supermarket. We also went down to the beach to rent Surf boards and have a private lesson at Madeira surf centre and it was hands down the best surf lesson I’ve had. Will definitely be returning frequently. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My room had a wonderful view of the trees and mountains and it was very comfortable. The decor of the room and bathroom were a perfect blend of rustic and modern. The room was also exceptionally clean - Filipa does a wonderful job of keeping the house clean and tidy and is also so lovely and caring! Ruben was also very responsive to any questions or concerns. Will definitely stay again!

The kitchen could do with some updates. I know most people probably eat dinner in the village, but for travellers wanting to cook whilst at the guesthouse the kitchen facilities could be improved.

Everything at this venue is designed to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The breakfasts are amazing and I loved the shared table. The sofa area with a wood fire is so lovely area at the end of the day. I often ended up taking about walking routes and other activities. The bedroom and bathroom were super clean and carefully detailed. Every interaction with Reuben and the Surf Lodge Family was lovely. As a solo female traveller I felt safe and cared for.

We stayed 4 nights in São Vicente and absolutely loved it! The location is surrounded by lush greenery, colorful flowers, and beautiful views of the hills and nature all around. We had a double room with a spacious bathroom and shared a kitchen with another couple. The breakfast was varied and could be enjoyed on the terrace as well. Everything was perfect and we truly appreciated our stay. A big thank you to our lovely hosts – until next time!

Everything was great - especially the vibe and possibly to meet and discuss the planned trails with other super friendly people who came for hiking. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished with comfy beds and very nice bathroom with all facilities. Breakfast was amazing, you for sure won't start your day hungry. Sitting at the chimney in the evening to dry off the clothes after a hike was a great addition. The owners and staff were always ready to help. Really great place for solo travellers!

The house and location is beautiful. Incredible views over the mountains and to the sea. The gardens of the property are wonderful. It felt like a little bit of paradise. The room was really nice and comfortable, the bathroom clean. We organised a surf lesson with the owner which was easy and very fun. Breakfast was good, help yourself with lots of options. We had a great stay here.

The room could have benefited from more surfaces to place belongings on. For example, a shelf in the bathroom and a bench in the bedroom, and hooks to hang towels on to dry. There was a minor issue with ants. Walls are a little thin in the main house so you can hear the next room but wasn't a huge issue for us.

Scenic, beautiful, clean, easy to check in etc, amazing breakfast

If you stay in the house, be prepared for no lie ins. The walls are very thin to the extent I heard the room next door snoring and heard the staff arriving in the morning to prepare breakfast. When messaging for assistance before arriving the staff were quite unresponsive and came across quite rude.

I loved the breakfasts - super varied. Lots of pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs, bread and cheese. The staff were lovely and accommodating The location was great, only a 10/15 min walk to the seafront and restaurants (and supermarket) The room was clean and comfortable! A great shower! I enjoyed the terrace where I could read in peace and look at the mountains A cute cat visited the garden every evening

The accommodation was a hidden unique place with a beautiful garden and view of mountains, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. This space was truly remarkable and good for nature lovers and slow travelers. The location is perfect, offering easy access to Sao Vicente downtown while maintaining a peaceful and quiet environment.

Nothing like this, all location, accommodation, and breakfast were more than I expected. Truly recommended for those who love nature and peace.
