Extremely happy with our stay. Great location: there’s a small playground right in front of the hotel and another just 100 meters away. We were welcomed by an employee who directed us to additional parking under the hotel. Our room had a separate bedroom and a balcony with a lovely view. The staff were very friendly and helped us warm up food for our little daughter. All the guidance and support we received during check-in and throughout our stay made us feel genuinely welcome. This was especially helpful after a full day of driving, when we arrived tired and low on energy. We’ll definitely choose this hotel again for our next stay in the area.

You can tell this hotel is older but still in good shape. 10 minute-ish uphill with bags from the train station, which was doable for us. Meiringen is completely walk-able if you have the ability but there are some elevation changes. We enjoyed the decor and theme of the hotel as we were there for a Sherlock Holmes interest based visit. The staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful, I speak basic bones Swiss German and French and was prepared to muddle through but everyone that we spoke to spoke way better English than I can speak Swiss. We could tell that the hotel was still reasonably busy with guests but we never heard anything in our room and slept like babies after hiking and wandering the town all day. Traveling with a vegetarian, so Indian cuisine being served in the hotel restaurant was fantastic. The breakfast had a good variety that everyone could eat. This hotel is friendly toward the hiking traveler, there was a clothesline over the bath that we made use of for drying laundry and it was much appreciated. The town isn't large so we walked everywhere, it was a 10 minute walk to the funicular for Reichenbach Falls from this hotel, no need to wait for the bus, less than 10 minutes around the whole town, so it wasn't onerous to pop back to the hotel for something if we forgot it. We enjoyed our two night stay and we would stay there again.

WiFi unexpectedly not working later in the evening but came back on after a short period. Don't know if it was a daily reset but it happened both days we stayed.

I loved the location. Problem checking in because no staff on hand st check in. The maintenance guy finally showed up and checked us in. They checked me into the wrong room at first ... but no one around to remedy the situation. Put me in a standard room when I had a deluxe room with a balcony. The shower in my deluxe room was bigger than the bathroom in the wrong room they booked me into at first. Not pleased 😕 but there was nothing I could do about it since there was no staff.

Got look after very well, hotel is in need of an update but has character. Staff were very kind and sincere upgraded our rooms foc, let us park our motorcycles under cover. Only food available was Indian cuisine, which was excellent.

Breakfast was disappointing. There was a kettle in the room but I couldn't find any tea, coffee or cups. Good things far outweighed any poor parts. I would happily return.

A pleasant balcony with a great view. A good and plentiful breakfast, including fresh fruit salad, quickly replenished after a large group had eaten.

The approach of the staff was variable. One of us is allergic to chilli, and the restaurant serves Indian food. The initial response to asking for an alternative was negative, but when they involved the chef he was immediately helpful and responsive. It would have made a difference if they had been positive to start with. Other staff members went out of their way to be helpful.

I have to highlight the kindness from Kumar, the staff late night who stayed for us till very late to check in, as we were stuck up the mountains by car. He guided us directions on the phone and helped us reach to the hotel. Not many hotels were available for a decent price and Das Sherlock Holmes made us feel at ease. Location was excellent and truly grateful for the late night staff. Thank you kindly.

Location for Reichenbach falls and the Sherlock Holmes museum was perfect. View of the mountains from the balconies was beautiful. WiFi was fast and easy to connect.

Rooms were a bit basic and no tea bags or coffee provided in the room, although you could take from the breakfast bar. Minor points only.

Clean and warm room with comfy beds and good shower. Breakfastbuffet was more than sufficient! We had a good deal but when we checked to stay on other days, prices seems to high (even for Switzerland)

Rooms are a bit dated. The lobby and breakfastroom are a bit sterile. Otherwise everything fine.

Wonderful location near town but quieter with great mountain views and a nearby stream with a walking path. Close to everything in town but slightly apart with a more residential setting. I loved the sound of running water with the windows open, otherwise, the soundproofing worked well. Helpful staff and facilities as advertised. The elevator and parking worked well for my stay.

We just stayed for a night to go hiking and had a perfect evening and night. The breakfast was very good. Room was quiet. It is walking distance to the center. The staff was really nice.

The bathroom was looking a bit old but functional and clean- nothing to complain about
