My room was small as was the bed but it was just for me so it was fine. Bed was very comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The towels in the bathroom were lovely, big and luxurious. The bathroom was basic looking but the water was lovely and hot so and also the pressure in the shower was very good. It was a peaceful stay overall and I slept well. It has everything you need for a basic stay. The housekeeping was brilliant with a lovely clean room every day - much appreciated 😀 I also loved that the corridors and stairs had a lovely subtle smell that was really pleasant and fresh It was such good value for money. I visit Ilkley very regularly and this was my first stay at Craiglands. I will definitely return

I didn’t try any food so can’t comment and I didn’t try any communal areas.

The room was spacious, quiet and clean with a comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the bacon was perfect (for me) and my wife was able to order porridge without paying any extra. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A huge bonus was free parking as outside the hotel street parking has to be paid for. Nice terrace just outside reception to enjoy a drink and look at the mature trees. Great location just a 10 minute walk to town and a short drive or 20 minute walk to the Cow and Calf Rocks... then on to Ilkley Moor. We look forward to returning in the future.

Everything was fine but the shower was a bit unpredictable so could be improved, but this is just a minor comment.

Lovely and impressive 19th century spa hotel. My room had been recently refurbished to a high standard...especially fine and spacious bathroom. Both courses for the evening meal were memorable. Breakfast was generous and well prepared even if a little expensive at £15

Magnetic room key had to be reprogrammed more than once..... External.signage urgently needs to be reviewed. Being screened from road by trees and as the post code took me well past the entrance, I had trouble even noticing the entrance. Once through the entrance barrier the signage to.the newly resurfaced car park needs to be improved...suggest asking someone from outside the Ilkley area be asked to drive through checking where better signage could be placed.

When we arrived we were asked if we had stayed before. As we had, back in March, we were offered a free upgrade to two huge rooms. They were beautiful with a great bathroom too. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. We paid extra for breakfast which was plentiful and very tasty. Lots of variety to suit all tastes. We enjoyed drinks in the bar particularly the generous wine offer available 5pm to 7 pm. Our dog was very welcome. The car park feels secure. The location is great, just a ten minute stroll to the town centre.

All was good.

We were in room 211 which was spacious, had 3 comfortable chairs and a small table plus a wardrobe and dressing table with drawers. No problems for a comfortable stay in a stylish hotel. Tv, hairdryer, good heater, kettle etc. Even an iron and ironing board. What we did like was the superb surroundings including the garden and nearby Ilkley tarn just 10 minutes walk away plus you can reach the cow and calf rock nearby. No need for a car, folks! Train, bus station, shops about 10 minutes walk away....and we are in our 70's. Lovely historical building with modern appliances. Restaurant looked cosy, but we did our own thing! We paid under £50 for a lovely room with a view and it was quiet. You can't beat that. A couple of areas inside and out to sit in. All in all a good stay. Thanks.

After our booking via booking.com, we received an e mail to check in on line. This we tried to do online, but it would not accept our information which we keyed in exactly as the confirmation. We therefore phoned the hotel to be told that the online check in does not work. They said just check in as usual when you arrive. Therefore, could the hotel management please do something to stop this message about on line checking in appearing as it caused us a bit of concern and time trying to complete the information.

Location and staff friendliness

Saniflow toilet which kicked in during our last night and woke us up twice . Had we been staying a further night we would have requested another room.

We arrived with our daughter & 3 grandchildren. Their room had ample space & 2 sofa single beds for the kids. There were very happy with their room. Our room was a small double but we found it very roomy, very clean, lovely crisp fresh white bedding & the bed was huge. Bathroom was spotless. Shower was lovely. Staff were lovely. Food was delicious but I thought a bit over priced. We would, without a doubt, stay again.

I think my only complaint was the mattress was too soft but thats down to personal preference

My room was large & bright

Looking out of the window was a ledge that was covered in rubbish, old wooden crates & plastic that looked like it had been there a long time. This should be removed & some plants in pots out there instead to replace the eyesore that is there now. There was no one at reception at approx 17.30 last Fri. There was a small note to say to press a button but nothing obvious anywhere near the note I was later told the button was on what looked like a phone charger on the desk, however the button was not marked. I was told not to press it as it made a loud noise. What kind of reception is this? It should be manned continuously. Dinner menu was not very appealing & the bistro had no atmosphere, so 5 of us who were guests at the hotel ate elsewhere

Good parking. Easy walk into the centre of Ilkley. Disabled parking outside main door. Only there to sleep so food not tested. Restaurant finishes by 8pm I think. Good late checkout on weekends, 11am, so no rushing. Superior twin room booked. Lovely and roomy. Very light, fresh decor. New bathroom with excellent shower over bath. Temperature in room good with thermostat control, and not stuffy. Bed really comfy. Dressing gowns and slippers provided. Iron and board, hair dryer, toiletries. Safe available too. Was offered breakfast at £12 if booked the night before, normally £15. Kettle, tea, coffee etc provided. All in all a very good place. Will come again.

Hard to get through on the phone. I tried several times before I booked as I wanted some information. Tried at various times over a couple of days. Also I got email asking to check in, which I did. When my plans changed and I was running later than expected, I tried to email to let them know I was still coming but would be later, and the mail would not deliver.

Good location as we were visiting family in the area. Has disability room which was available for my 97 year old mother. Hotel also has a lift.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed that evening so we went to a local Wetherspoons for food. This wasnt told to us before booking. Did have breakfast in the morning which at £17.50 pp was expensive for self service. The bedroom wardrobes were tired & smelt musty. Bed was comfortable & room clean. No facility for controlling temperature in room.
