Very clean and fresh bedding, and a well made bed, and it was very comfy, almost too comfy as we almost slept in! Lovely area next to the castle, we felt very safe to walk around at night. Good location as we were close to the city centre but it wasn't too loud either. Room was a good size and tidy, check out was easy and I got my deposit back same day.

The shower pressure/temperature was really poor, and it didn't even book onto the wall. I was asked to confirm my arrival time at least 4 times and I still had to wait outside and knock 3 times. And the emergency number that was outside didn't work when I tried to ring, it just rejected straight away

The staff albeit they hate internet banks like starling, monzo etc were nice enough. Very clean room and comfy too. The location is fantastic and everywhere I wanted to go was within a ten minutes walk. The staff were amiable to help out with the security deposit situation and let me pay in cash had it back in just over a day.

The security deposit thing seems strange to me and makes one night very expensive and it's just not worth that much money. If you are internet banking like me with starling I suggest you do what I did and pay in cash and ask them to put it back on your card later or you could be in for a long wait to get it back.

The location is great. It's a 10 minute walk from Theatre Royal and the main town centre, 15 minutes from the train station, perfect for short visits if you just need a place to crash. The room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable - I also liked that they were generous with the milk sachets for tea and coffee. The host/owner was pleasant, responded promptly to my messages and I appreciated he was upfront and honest about the refundable deposit and what I needed to be wary of to ensure i got it back.

Not the fault of the business or the staff, but with it being in town and close to student accommodation, I was woken up at 4.23am by shouting outside which I can only assume was an intoxicated person. You also have to be careful not to mix up the door keys as it's an old building that locks up easily - again, not anyone's fault but you will lose the deposit if you make a mistake.

The hotel is more of a maisonette, with rooms on the first and second floor. My room was nice and spacious, facing the street and equipped with desk/chair and clothes rail. It's located on a small hill near the castle.

I read about the requirements to pay a deposit on arrival and necessary pre-notification of arrival time in other reviews, so this didn't come as a surprise and were acceptable. The hotel's toilet system is called saniflow and doesn't allow for any items to be flushed, making it quite noisy when it needs to repeat the suction, especially at night when my neighbour used their bathroom.

Room was clean and tidy and very close to everything you needed. You're given a key to get in and out of the building as the reception isn't manned.

I did book parking but when we got there the member of staff that checked us in informed us that the car park was closed. It isn't owned by the hotel so we were told they do close the car park without giving the hotel notice which in all fairness, isn't the hotels fault. There is an NCP (St James) right by the hotel though, but we did find a cheaper NCP a short walk away which was more than half the price for 24 hours (NCP Maid Marian Way)

Quick and easy and affordable. The manager was accommodating with arrival time and was able to explain everything clearly before giving the keys and confirmed a few days before.

I didn't think about this before booking but maybe a place to leave the luggage after check out for a couple of hours but this would mean that a receptionist needs to be present at expected luggage collection.

The booking.com detailsfor this accommodation states parking available. This is true but it costs £20 per night by card or £15 per night for cash. (I do not understand why there's a difference).Anyway I made alternative arrangements. The details are misleading

The property is at the top of a hill, and then stairs up to second floor. May be not suitable for some people with physical difficulties.

It's a fair walk to the Arena unless you are quite used to walking. Their is a NCP for parking round the corner for 400 cars. The room was very clean and a Lovely ORANGE for SHEFFIELD STEELER Fans. The room was £80 for one night only and you can only register between 3pm - 9pm. There is deposit of £50 which is only taken from your account if there are any damages so take a photo before you leave.

Having to walk all the way back to register because the Ice Hockey tournament finished after 9pm

Super cosy and comfortable room, it has an iron kettle and en-suite bathroom along with a sofa and tv with all the channels. It’s super close. To everything and there’s a Tesco on your doorstep! Roberto was so helpful on the day of arrival and the price we paid was an absolute bargain

The check out time is abit early .. especially when you are suffering from a hangover
