Great location in the centre of Godalming. Room was really well decorated and roomy. Bathroom was large and stocked with lovely toiletries. We stayed in a twin bedded room. Plenty of space. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choices. Nice bar area. Afternoon tea, although not sampled, looked delicious. Children’s version available which looked lovely. All in all, very good.
Parking is tight and difficult to secure a spot, as very few spaces available for hotel guests. Could be a challenge if mobility is an issue. Same goes for accessing the bedrooms as there is no lift, so again, if you have mobility issues, the stairs may be a challenge for some.

Absolutely charming historic inn right on the main street in Godalming. When we arrived it was quiet and no one was at the front desk, but going into the bar/restaurant area we were greeted with a cozy scene with a bartender and a few patrons at tables. The bartender ended up being the manager who we checked in with and he helped us get situated in the room. We stayed in the Henry the VIII suite, which was spacious and had a lot of history around it with oil paintings and a nice sitting area separate from the beds. The bathroom as also recently re-done, and much nicer than the one we had in our hotel in London. Since we were traveling with younger children, they setup two cots before we arrived which included cookies on the pillows. The manager also helped me park the car, since all spaces in the lot behind the hotel were full but he pointed out two very faint spots in the middle. Since it was Sunday we ate the at inns restaurant, having Sunday Roast which was fantastic. We had a full English breakfast at the inn the next morning, which also included a cereal, juice and fruit bar. We were planning to walk around Godalming that day and the staff also recommended driving to the village of Shere nearby since we had a car. We only stayed one night, but our experience was one that we'll remember from our trip to England. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations and would book again next time we find ourselves in Surrey.

The staff were the stand out for me! They treated us like friends and went above and beyond to be helpful and make our stay lovely! The food was excellent, the decor very classic and cool and the village is gorgeous, with the hotel in prime location, with the train station 5 minutes walk away. We had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended. The Italian restaurant because door was a bonus!
The bed was a little uncomfortable but that might just be me because I have a load of mattress toppers at home! We had the double room and I'd say the bed would have been too small for anyone other than 2 small humans! My daughter and I are 5ft 2 and about 10 stone and it was a squish so I'd recommend an upgrade for anyone bigger, but still worth a stay, don't miss out!

Exquisitely furnished and VERY spacious room, cleverly split into living/bedroom areas, with comfortable and characterful period/antique furniture/décor and historic portraits (+ coat of arms) all over the walls. Fascinating historical details in the communal parts as well. Spotlessly clean, too! If they can fix the ventilation/temperature issue [see below], then 5* throughout, a really splendid place to stay!
However - a big BUT - the windows in this room (no.110) (newly refurbished as air-tight) do not open at all. So in warm weather (and the room does get the afternoon sun), this can be a really uncomfortable room to stay in. Yes, there is ONE air conditioning unit, but even having this on full blast I couldn't get the interior temperature down below 22.4 degrees C, even overnight. Outside weather temperature was pleasant at the time I stayed, but in the height of summer, this room would be horribly stifling.

Clean, comfortable and quality customer service
It’s an old building with many hidden steps which could cause an accident so more prominent signage of the steps would be beneficial. We stayed in room 109 and there was a quite deep step down when you opened the door so a clear prominent sign on the door would help and just outside the door there was a 3inch ? Step going nowhere but covered in the same pattern carpet as the floor around it, it would help if it was highlighted in some way

Beautiful hotel very nicely decorated. Food was delicious, a good cooked breakfast selection. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
No parking was available (all spaces taken) so we had to park in a council carpark a short distance away which worked fine and was free overnight but you had to pay from 8 am. The app wasn't working, nor the card machine which left us looking around for change. In the end we could street park for free but this meant having to move the car again. Weather was very very hot no air con in rooms. Although it was cooler outside at night because of the very heavy drapes and only one window available to open, we did bake over night. One small fan was appreciated didn't make much difference unfortunately. Could blinds be put up for privacy which would perhaps improve the air flow?

Comfy bed. Liked Nespresso machine ( as well as kettle). Bar/ Restaurant nice decor. On High Street which had a nice buzz.
Limite parking at hotel. However was large public car park close by which free on Sunday. Room very hot. Turned heating in room off and opened window but couldn’t control the towel rail which was ultra hot.

My room was cosy, had all the tea and coffee making facilities plus biscuits. The radio was on one of the bedside tables and was easy to operate as was the TV. The bed was very comfortable and the room cleaned to a high standard, well aired, warm without being overly hot. The bathroom had a lovely shower, was spotlessly clean too and even had shampoo conditioner plus handwash + shower gel. I loved the little book about Godalming too, nice personal touch! As for other things the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful right from first contact. The coffee at breakfast was superb, I understand it is the Hotel's own brand. Delicious! Excellent value for money + well above the standard chain offerings. I'm coming back!

The history of this building alone is so interesting. It is beautifully maintained. I loved my single room, so carefully curated in decor and design. Staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant/bar, also exquisitely decorated, is busy and the was very good. Loved the chime which told staff an order was up. Sunday roast was spectacular!
Would have liked 2 wash clothes, face and bath.

Lovely old coaching inn. Rooms were clean and comfortable with nice touches such as coffee machine, toiletries and tea and biscuits. Great location on the main high street. Bar and dining areas were nicely decorated and welcoming and provided a great selection of room of food and drinks. The staff were welcoming and very helpful going the extra mile to get us some nibbles even though the kitchen had closed.
