A lovely, historic building, set high on the cliff above Shanklin, giving great views out to sea. Within easy walking distance of the old town, chine and beaches (for a fairly fit middle aged couple). Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Ample parking. Good breakfast.

Although clean and comfortable, much of the hotel would benefit from a facelift/redecoration as it did look tired, especially in communal areas. No lift. We didn’t use the pool. Pillows were hard and need renewing.

My husband and I booked a standard room for 2 nights, as we were attending a wedding being held at the hotel. From start to finish the staff were attentive, professional and friendly. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and was newly refurbished with lovely new bedroom furniture. The queen sized bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in and the sheets were good quality. I found the hotel to be clean and nicely presented, with comfy sofas in the drawing room and tasteful decor in the bar area. In my opinion as good as The George Hotel in Yarmouth, but at a fraction of the cost and better service.

Within walking distance of Shanklin old town Free parking (hotel arranged reserved parking for us as there was a wedding taking place when we were there). Outdoor pool - lots of games/accessories/pool toys to use. Space for sunbathing, including seats and sun loungers. Great staff- very friendly and very accommodating Linked rooms which enabled us to put the kids to bed and then watch tv in peace

Slightly hilly location but the walk back from the old town was good for us!!

The staff, especially Tom - so helpful. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. We had a suite which was beautiful paid for an upgrade when we got there. Breakfast was good and so accommodating for gluten and lactose intolerance. Comfortable rooms to sit and relax in and grounds nice to sit or stretch your legs in.

Very steep walk getting back and forth to hotel. Ok if you’re doing it once but not if you need to go to town 2-3 times. Breakfast cereals needed for gluten free - oats - then everybody could enjoy with their milk and fruit. Swimming pool had a charge which I feel should come in the cost if you are staying.

The staff where amazing so friendly and accommodating as we had elderly parents with us they couldn’t have done anymore to help us I would give this accommodation 5⭐️

If they had a stair lift that would be amazing for the elderly and I personally prefer Breakfast being served to the table for the same reason elderly parents I would say if you are fit and mobile the perfect place to stay however if you have any mobility issues this is not a place you could walk to the centre however for us it was perfect and we would definitely visit again thank you so much Calum Manager of Hotel and all your staff’s

Staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was ever too much for them. Like other visitors reviews, Tom and all the staff, owners very friendly. Breakfast really well organised, lots of choices. Had evening meal a couple of nights and can honestly say, really lovely home cooked food. If we return to the Isle of Wight in the future, I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel. Highly recommend! 😀

The staff were truly lovely and personable, going out of their way to provide a first class service. They even arranged flowers and a card for my mum's birthday and their anniversary. The breakfast, lunch and evening meals throughout the week were superb. Waiter/waitress service first class.

I am aware that the current owners only took over a little while ago and upgrading the decor in some places of the hotel is a job in hand.

A hotel run by a family, it's welcoming and friendly. The swimming pool was fantastic in the hot weather while we were there. Great sea views. Comfy lounge. Quiet as it was away from the town, but fairly easy to walk for the able bodied.

Bit of a steep climb back from Shanklin. Shanklin wasn't our favourite place, but Ventnor nearby was super.

All the staff were so nice to us, we had some issues with our room but they sorted it and gave us a better room to make up for it. Breakfast was lovely every day as well.

Hill on the walk home from the pub? Not really the hotels fault, can’t have a view out all the way to sandown without being on a hill.

Breakfast was excellant, plenty of choice, just need to ask for ANYTHING at all , if the hotel have it . plenty of extra tea/coffee supplies for in room. The staff here are fantastic, we requested holding freash sandwitches in the refriderater for us overnight, for an early departure.

The general layout of the room was poor! Hairdryer below the television? (altough we "found" another hairdryer when vacating the room)! only two power points available, The bathroom being peticually poor for storage space (shelving)/ robe hooks etc..The shower control would benifit a set of instructions ?? The room would benifit from the main llighting control being located nearer the bedding, (the lighting switch being near the entrance door) although to be fair there were additional lighting each side of the beds BUT you have to fish the push buttons out , as stated the lighting would benifit being centrally located near to the bed`s?? BUT hay how old is the building?
