Room was very big with separate sitting area Spotless clean very well decorated comfortable superking bed excellent views was easy parking on hotel grounds host at reception desk he was very friendly helpful altogether a very enjoyable experience would highly recommend this hotel

Hotel was very central , the room size was excellent lots of space , clean ,great facilities and staff were excellent

We had the stateroom with 2 double 4 poster beds, a 3 piece suite and coffee table, plus a table and 4 chairs, and you could still have had room to hold a dance! 12 almost floor length windows, a great view over the north harbour and sea, it was fabulous! We didn't know that this was going to be the room we were allocated, it was about 40ft long and 25ft wide and amazing! I've stayed at the hotel before, it's an ideal location in the centre of the town, breakfast is great, plenty of choice, plenty of food and good quality. We will be back.

Not sure anything could have been better for us to be honest, we were very happy with everything provided.

Great location in the heart of Oban. Reception staff exceptionally professional and friendly. Good price. Someone had charge breakfast to our room but staff were quick to deal with the error.

Bed wasn't very comfortable. Place is quite dated but it's reflected in the reasonable price. Cleaning staff really rude. We got a late check out. Cleaning staff tried to enter our room at 8 so I was happy I had the key chain on door. No apology. Cleaning staff tried again to enter room at the normal check out time. We opened the door and she was gone only for her to come back a few minutes later storming into the room by letting herself straight into our room without knocking. She was very aggressive. Obviously we explained we had a late check out and she stormed back out of the room slaming the door. Not very nice. Suppose everyone is allowed to have a bad day. It wouldn't stop me going back.

The hotel is located in an excellent position, at the bay pier in the city center, just a few hundred meters away from the circular monument of the ancient Roman Colosseum in the back mountain. The lovely and chubby young female staff at the hotel front desk provided very enthusiastic service, and the reception process was very professional and friendly! The other staff at the hotel front desk are also very friendly. Recommended check-in.

The TV signal source in the room is unstable, and the problem lies in the damaged coaxial cable interface between the TV and the wall, which leads to cable contact issues. Hotel engineers should check and maintain the TV signal at all times to ensure normal operation.

Lovely man at reception gave me a wonderful room at the top of this historic hotel, with a little seating area in a nook inside one of the turrets and a terrific view overlooking the harbour. The room was large and well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The Columba has a fantastic location, central to the charming town of Oban and just steps from a wide selection of shops and restaurants as well as the local distillery. The big bowl of candies at the front desk also is a friendly touch.

The lift. I can appreciate that it has its charms for nostalgia buffs, but it is very old and very complicated, with an iron gate to pull shut followed by a stiff wooden door. After the first go (and help from the man at the desk), I was literally afraid to use it and walked three flights of stairs instead. The hotel in general is faded, though it still retains a trace of what probably was past glory.

Very nice hotel with tradition and style. Exceptional location in harbour surrounded with ships and seagulls. You can drink a beer and observe ferries heading to isle of Mull. I want highlight very nice and helpful staff. Room was comfortable with nice view on Battery Hill. We enjoyed romantic walks in harbour and trips to near natural areas.

Price for extraordinary location in harbour is lack of parking lots. Hotel has own parking places, which were always full. You can use public parking next to hotel, but you must count with few minutes to find a spot.

The property has a super location, close to shops and restaurants and sits right on the harbour. Our room looked onto the little island of Kerrera, it was spacious and pristine. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very good. The receptionist, Jukita, was fabulous, she couldn’t have been more helpful, very friendly and knowledgable of the surrounding district. We didn’t eat in the hotel so I can’t comment on the food. The only thing that lets it’s down is the bar area which was very quiet and dated. I didn’t have high hopes for The Columba but it was a pleasant surprise and just amazing value for money.
