I originally booked for only 1 night but because of weather conditions we were unable to take the ferry to our destination. Hotel gave us the same room for another 2 nights at a better rate. Staff could not have been more helpful. Taking our luggage upstairs for us as there is no lift. The hotel was in a quiet area but was only a short distance to train and ferry terminus. Also very convenient for shops and restaurants. I would book there again and recommend to others. Breakfast was good value for £10 each.

There was nothing about the Ranald Hotel that I did not like.

Staff was very helpful and responsive to questions and concerns. The location was very central. Easy to walk to restaurants, pharmacy and convenience store.

The room was cold and we weren't able to adjust the temperature on our own, but once I brought it to the attention of the front desk staff, they came up to check the radiator system and were able to adjust it so that the room was comfortably warm. Wish there was an elevator, but they were kind enough to put us on the first floor so we only had one flight of stairs for my 90 year old mother.

Very clean,modern room layout.Nice and quiet location but still central to town. Room had everything you need for a short stay, plenty of space. Staff were most polite and cheery, the breakfast options were refreshingly different- food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Great way to start the day! Everyone was very helpful and polite, definitely somewhere I will return to when I'm next in the area. Highly recommended

We were on 2nd floor- and as someone with 2 worn out knees, I wish there was an elevator!! But other than that everything exceeded expectations!

Good hotel in central location, very amiable as my fellow traveler could not manage the stairs so were given a ground floor room. Very clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic as when we arrived we were asked what time slot we had asked for however we were never asked when we checked in, it meant a rush of people and some grumpy staff to start with as they were not expecting this. Needs a bit more organising.

Lovely boutique hotel, well priced. Spotlessly clean. Very efficient and helpful staff. Good location, just a street back from the seafront. Nice breakfast ... not huge but perfect serving. Lovely personal service.

No private parking ... we got parked outside on street for 2 days but paid 2.60 per 2 hours between 9am and 6pm. There are probably other alternatives, we were happy to pay and have car nearby.

Central, jolly, modern hotel, room spacious, hot shower, tea/coffee provided. Staff helpful with regards parking. Lorne pub and restaurant just a minute away and a great choice for a drink.

Breakfast was fine but would have been nice to have a little more variety on hot options and a poached egg could surely be on offer for more than 1 in the four on offer. Room advertised an extra large double bed but it wasn’t much bigger than a double.

Has the advanatge of being within short walking distance of the railway station, the port and the facilities of central Oban. The staff were very helpful although a more practical area to store bags might not be a bad idea. Our room was very quiet and we enjoyed our breakfast.

No major issues - as I say above the staff were very helpful on bag storage but management might consider how this might be approved.

Very modern, clean, good choice of breakfast items and a nice change from the usual fry up. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Our room Was spotlessly clean.

Our room was a bit warm, but there was a fan I the room which was great. (Also it was a very hot day), we were on the 3rd floor and had to climb up a spiral staircase, no problem for us, but wouldn’t suit people with mobility issues.

Lack of parking. I was lucky that the pay machine wasn’t working but it would cause problems having to park elsewhere I think. The bedroom window is broken and doesn’t shut properly so it was quite noisy. And a person in a nearby room was drying their hair at 4.30am!

Room was clean, shower had hot water and the bed was comfy, pretty much all you need from a hotel. The lady in reception was there when we checked in and back again in the morning for breakfast, she was like a one-man band, very helpful and cooked a delicious breakfast. Best of all she did it all politely and with a big smile on her face.

Corridors smelt a little foisty, but not a major issue.
