The location on the mouth of the loch was beautiful. The staff were all really helpful and cheerful. We stayed in room 8 which had a great view.
The room had been recently refurbed so decoration was good And bathroom was well appointed and finished. Unfortunately it seemed they didn’t change the carpets which looked tired, spoiling the impact of the room. Also the throw at the bottom of the bed felt unnecessary and looked a little tired.. fresh white bedding is all that is needed. Also one point for breakfast the tables sat against the pillars of the window rather than the window itself benefitting from the best feature of the hotel. Simply repositioning the juice table to another wall would allow all tables to have a fabulous view for all guests who were seated… small thing that would make a big difference

Beautiful view from the breakfast room. Plenty of space between tables. Good menu choice and cooked to order. (eggs with the most orange yolk I've ever seen!) Food served promptly and staff checking that everything was OK.
Room was fine.... (dog friendly) but small issue with en suite. Glass shelf over washbasin is an obstacle. Bumped head couple of times. Toilet seat is very low and problematic for elderly arthritic guest. (Maybe a small grab bar would help?). An information folder re facilities etc would be appreciated. This is the norm in most places.

A picturesque location about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Oban , right next to a lovely beach which was great for paddling , collecting unusual shells and rocks with the kids and den building. There is a lovely little walk above the beach which takes you past a local airport with some interesting planes . The sunset was beautiful and restaurant and bar has a terrace that overlooks the beach. The food was excellent with wide variety of choice for breakfast . The decor is very atmospheric and traditional looking and the kids enjoyed sitting in the game room playing chess .
I found the pillows a little thin but brought my own to replace .

We found it as a base to walk in GlenCoe, aiming for Buachaille Etive Mor but others could have been closer but others were too expensive or booked up. I found I could have a continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast that suited to my restricted diet - I refused meat and eggs for 70 years which was often awkward. A veggie cooked meal without meat or eggs, pastries and cereals with fruit available. An evening meal from the hotel wasn't available but they permitted us to order delivered food and use their dining facilities. Simple.
Only woken too early by a false fire alarm - but the problem was quickly and efficiently dealt with - almost immediately tod us very quickly that it was a false alarm. The location could have been indicated the position of the hotel more clearly, with more obvious signage.

Plenty places to sit inside and outside of hotel. Short walk to lock etive. Feel you are sitting underneath the bridge. Food was fresh and tasty, bar staff lovely. Plenty outside seating to enjoy the sun. Stayed in the junior suite. Newly refurbished and was absolutely spacious and beautiful. So much natural light. The wallpaper and panelling gives the room a modern but boutique feel. Would highly recommend this room. Big cupboard space too to hold your luggage and plenty coat hangers.
Wad told at check in thst Bar shut at 10pm...

We had to book this hotel on short notice, and it turned out to be a truly pleasant surprise. The hospitality was exceptional — the staff was courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The location is excellent, easily accessible and well connected, which made everything so convenient. What stood out the most was the traditional breakfast — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and care. Highly recommended!

The location is stunning with great views. The weather was a massive advantage admitedly, the sun was shining and it was nice and warm. Our room was large and comfortable and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and it's clear how much they want to make sure people want to enjoy their stay. Good bar service with a nice range of drinks. The restaurant was quite busy for dinner but it was all managed really well. The menu was varied and good, and the food was absolutely excellent. Defintely worth a visit even if just for a meal.
I have to say that I'd struggle to find anything that I didn't like - one minor point is that I felt the shower cubicle in our room was quite small, so difficult for a bulky person to navigate - just something to be aware of though - it in no way spoiled the visit which was realy lovely.

The breakfast was delicious, bed very comfy. Staff very accommodating, the lovely touch that the cleaners did was setting up my daughters pillow, teddy & eyemask up on the bed.
The windows in room 10 particularly in the bathroom didn't shut properly & it was very draughty which made the room very cold, I had to shut the curtains to keep the draughts out. The staff gave us a heater which made a big difference but the windows really need looking at there was a big gap at the top right of the bathroom window when it was closed. I wouldn't usually bother but it was very stormy & raining on this afternoon.

A handy location and a lovely view from yhe dining room. The young staff in the evening were good and trying hard, we were asked to open our own wine as the person serving admitted she had failed miserably. We didn't mind at all and suggested she bring a few more bottles so we could do some training. 😀 Seriously though we know how hard it is to recruit service sector staff in Scotland post Brexit and we really appreciated the kind nature and hard work of the young people serving us.
The beds were very hard. For some reason the chef ground a lot of salt over my cooked breakfast thus spoiling it. Without tweezers it's impossible to pick lumps of salt crystals out of the underside of a breakfast mushroom!

Lovely quirky hotel on the waterfront, big & spacious rooms, dining area & plenty of lounge areas to sit & relax 😀 All of the staff were lovely & friendly & went above & beyond to help make our stay comfortable & they fed us really well too!
It's a little bit isolated but there is a bus close by that's takes you into the centre of Oban.
