As a solo traveller I opted for the single room with shared facilities as I was touring and wanted a safe base in the evenings but knew I would be out in the daytime and off early in the morning. Comfy bed, clean room, no issues in sharing a bathroom, nice touches like the mini fridge which I used, milk and juices, tea and coffee, kettle, hairdryer, toiletries, hot chocolate and some snacks. Watched the TV- all working. Great to have the heater for the chillier nights and after being soaked in good old Scottish weather. Clean linen and towels with an option which I didn’t use of my room being serviced through the day. I liked the quiet location as close to Pulpit Hill for great views and I liked that it wasn’t right in the town centre as that suited me also. It was easy to find and took me about 25 minutes walk from the station uphill and quicker downhill. Thanks to the host for helpful local information and being able to leave my luggage on my final day before my return journey home.

Breakfast is not offered, but the hostess provide snacks. Rooms are spacious, very clean and confortable. There is not parking at the place itself but nearby it

There are two floors with rooms. We stayed in the rooms of the ground floor and we hear some noises from the people staying above us. Not because they were particularly noisy but because of the building itself. The frigde inside the room could also get a bit noisy at times.

Welcoming and helpful host, good night sleep and great views from the nearby view point. The location is great to easily get on the ferry to Mull and back.

Pay attention that footpaths exist across the neighbourhood. Coming from outside the UK we are not comfortable with walking on roads to the ferry and back, so you can use them instead. The location is on a tall hill so it might not suit people with disabilities.

Don Muir is easy to get to, in a quiet location above Oban port. My single room was nicely furnished, with a very comfy bed and lots of welcome treats, including fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge. The bathroom (bathtub, shower, loo) across the hallway was extremely spacious and spotlessly clean, with plenty of hot water. Finally, the owner was really friendly and most helpful.

We enjoyed our 1 comfortable night. The host was very welcoming. The room was good for 2 people, and the extras of cereal and snacks were a welcome extra. There was a little fridge in the room, which is a great plus when travelling. We enjoyed the close by viewpoint as well as the walk down the hill to Oban. We would definitely stay again and recommend this lovely guest house.

Really well located, out of the main area, only a 10min walk into town. Really quiet location and near an amazing lookout point over all of Oban. Excellent host, really friendly and accommodating but not intrusive. Room was super comfortable and although there is no breakfast, the light refreshments in the room were a lovely touch. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if in Oban.

Booked this guest house last minute on our spontaneous mini moon, beautiful guest house, so very clean… it was perfect! Could not fault it. Our host was friendly and lovely and that viewpoint just wow! If you want a quiet little place to stay not far from town then this is the place! Complimentary breakfast in our bedroom was a nice touch too. Thank you for having us.

The view from the viewpoint nearby was great. The 'Welcome tray' was great and saved me from going back out to look for breakfast. Very much appreciated! It was a quiet location and the host was very helpful.

I should have printed out a map before coming because I couldn't get Googlemaps to work in Oban, so got lost! My own fault.

Breakfast was not included but cereal and a small fridge with milk and orange juice was left in the room plus tea or coffee and a kettle.

It wasn,t en suite which I had been made aware of but I had access to a toilet and shower and wash hand basin across the corridor.

I liked the location, views, quietness, and easy access to the center of Oban. I never have breakfast so I can't comment. The host was lovely and welcoming, I thought it was a great place to stay for going on boat trips to the islands.

Nothing much at all, sharing the bathroom would be my only mention, but it was absolutely fine, clean, and never occupied when I needed it. I was well aware that that would have been reflected in the reasonable rates.
