Great Location in the village of Connel just before Oban as you come from the south. Beautiful views out to the Loch. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious. Great restaurant and lounge. Beds were comfortable and room had everything needed. Free car park on site. Electric car charging points. Lovely old building which has been maintained and extended tastefully. The decor is very old fashioned but is charming and in keeping with the period of the original building. Check out is 11am instead of the usual 10am which we appreciated. There is a train station in the village and regular buses to Oban.

The room was very cold on arrival as radiator off. Might be an idea for the cleaners to turn them on when they have finished airing out the room. Towels were very old and a grey colour. I presume they had been originally white and need replacing. We would have loved a coffee machine at breakfast in order to have our usual cappuccino instead of filter coffee which was very strong. It would have been great if the bar had been open for coffee at check out instead of 1230. There are very few places in the village that sell coffee to have before setting off on the next leg of your journey.

We have stayed here previously and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Great pub food and nice rooms, but more expensive than previous stay.

Staying on the second floor with no lift for luggage could be a challenge if heavier cases were brought. We had requested a taxi to pick up up at 6:30am to meet a ferry day trip, but they did not show up on time so we had to drive into Oban and find parking for all day to meet being at the ferry by 6:55. We made it with 2 minutes to spare. When I phoned to follow up with the taxi request, their mobile phone went to voicemail - nothing to do with the hotel, but something to be wary of if relying on taxis for the future.

Breakfast was excellent and couldn't be faulted, and provided everything I could wish for. The breakfast staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking was close to the nearest exit, which made loading and unloading the car easier.

Whereas the breakfast staff were very approachable, staff in the dining room / bar were best described as polite and brief. Nothing bad, but just cold and detached. At £182 per night, I would have expected a classier style of room. The wardrobe was home-made, and although well assembled, the finish was poor. Door to ensuite was also a D.I.Y job, probably because there isn't an off-the-shelf door that narrow. Once a fire door is installed, and the O/H closer fitted, it doesn't take a minute to adjust it properly. Whilst the closing speed was okay, the latching speed was so fierce, the door slammed so hard it boomed through the whole wing on every operation, yet so simple to adjust.

So many things i could say that i liked the location is fantastic great sunsets across loch etive and beyond . Perfectly placed to visit oban or glencoe and beyond are within reasonable distance. Then on return you can relax infront of an open fire in the bistro or residents lounge. The staff are all fantastic from the girls at check-in to Soufiane the bistro manager and his team who are great food is fantastic we ate the all 3 nights of our stay and we both enjoyed every meal and the great service we got. The breakfast team are the same we had Roud on fri and sat such a nice guy we felt well looked afternice to sit enjoy the view at breakfast good variety of options to suit most tastes. Room was clean and tidy and well appointed rest of the hotel is the same and old building that has been nicely looked after a great place to come and relax an independent hotel that makes you feel like a guest rather than just another number and face through the door. The only thing i didn't like was the fact that we couldn't have stayed there longer . But definitely plan to return.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Falls of Lora, and it was an experience to remember! The hotel itself is beautiful, nestled in a stunning location that offers breathtaking views. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service, particularly from the owner, Michael. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We needed a ride into town, and Michael graciously offered to help. Not only did he arrange a ride for us, but he also went the extra mile by speaking with the bus driver to ensure there was room for us, despite the uncertainty. He even waited with us until we were safely on board. This level of care and dedication is rare, and it made our stay at the Falls of Lora truly special. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay, coupled with outstanding service. Thank you, Michael, for making our trip so enjoyable!

On arrival, the room we had been allocated wasn't suitable (our fault, nothing to do with the hotel) and as soon as I explained the additional requirement we had then they moved us without any issue to a room which was perfect. We couldn't say enough about the service we received. The hotel itself is very traditional and spotless. We both commented on the gleaming silver !! Food is great and very plentiful, in fact neither of us could finish the portions we were served. The location was perfect for our stay being just outside Oban, with its own parking, and a great starting point for exploring the wonderful surrounding area. We've already booked a return visit in February for a special birthday.

Lovely room 43 with 4 poster bed and lovely views . Staff great and friendly. Restaurant very busy in evening --full both nights . They had an excellent restaurant manager ,cant remember his name but it was something like Sofin . He was totally in control of the restaurant and it was so obvious to us that he had total respect from his staff . He was there when any junior waiter/waitress were under pressure and helped and guided them . Customers he was always willing to chat to them .Food good especially the proper kippers at breakfast

Nothing really

The staff was extremely friendly. We had an issue with our car and the woman at reception helped us in every possible way, calling around and helping us think of solutions. She also gave us great tips for things to do in the neighbourhood while we waited for our appointment to get our car fixed. The hotel is charming, with beautiful views around and clean rooms. Breakfast was lovely, although staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people. This didn't make them any less friendly and helpful, however.

The wifi barely reached inside our room. The only good spot was literally at the door.

A decent private parking area on the same level as the entrance made for a pleasant start.10 out of 10 . Then the professional front of house reception by the lovely Shona,her persona was uplifting with a great smile and a beautiful local Oban accent ,so soft and warm hearted .Shona even gave us an upgrade ,an unexpected pleasure this room with superb cleanliness,super comfortable bed and pillows, TV just the right size and two comfortable chairs to take in the views across Loch Etive and the dramatic sunset. Well done Shona ! The atmosphere is relaxing with tasteful chattels and a brilliant restaurant .Could not fault the chef or front of house .A very pleasant hotel in every respect ,even the beautiful private garden across the road is well tended. I can’t honestly fault anything, if you force me ,what can I say constructively? I think the lovely outdoor steps to the entrance might want a new set of Stainless handrails. Didn’t affect us but might be an issue for the less mobile .Can’t honestly say anything negative.

The property holds a true local spirit, inviting all guests to enjoy some time at the lounge room. Decoration is on point, drinks are available at the bar and the dining room staff was beyond welcoming, friendly and attentive. Room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view. Dinner at The Falls was exquisite.

Upon arrival, we were rudely received by a lady with little to no intentions of giving assistance to the guests: bad manners, interrupting when speaking, all with an annoyed expression on her face. Luckily the rest of the staff made up for that unpleasant first impression.
