The location was superb, in the old part of the town [one of the prettiest places in France]- fabulous views over the chateau and the river Loire from our window. The hotel is in an older building, part of its charm It was very hot, but our excellent breakfast was served in a cool room built into the hillside [in 'la salle troglodyte']. We did not want [or need!] a cooked breakfast; there were fresh croissants and baguettes, freshly pressed grapefruit and orange juice, homemade yogurts, a variety of homemade jams, and different honeys, as well as meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals and nuts. A variety of teas, and coffee of course. The staff were very pleasant.
We did have to be careful going up and down stairs being on the top floor. Anyone with mobillity issues should ask for a ground floor room.

Location is great, by the river, opposite the chateau and in a beautiful village. My room was pretty and comfortable. We also had the family studio which was a few doors down the street and ideal for my two small granddaughters, and their parents. The restaurant over the road overlooking the river was very good. Parking was free and opposite the hotel.
Breakfast was good but I would have liked to be offered more coffee and hot milk. I was just referred to the cold milk on the buffet when I asked.

What a fabulous view overlooking Montsoreau Chateau. We had a charming attic that was prettily decorated and comfortable The area for breakfast was in a cave as the building was built into the cliff. The village was delightful
The shower pressure was poor. We arrived late but thankfully had made a booking at the restaurant opposite. The meal was delicious, but as with so many restaurants in France the menus are rather samey, steak & chips, something with foie gras or duck. Why are meals generally served with no vegetables? In our case, a delicious slab of veal and a dollop of polenta. We opted for cheese at the end of the meal, this had a large quantity of lettuce to cover the minute portions of cheese. The size of the trio of cheeses were reminiscent of the samples you are given at a food fair. It may seem odd reviewing what appeared to be an independent restaurant but I believe both the hotel and restaurant are owned by the same people

Lovely room looking over the Chateau, lovely staff , breakfast an excellent troglodyte experience
Wary about eating in Restaurant le Montsorelli affiliated to the hotel, having read a number of really bad reviews but gave it a try, and it was surprisingly good - don’t believe all the bad comments! However, they could do with improving the very simple caesar salad and to tone down the very bitter dressing. And, not unique to this establishment, please don’t insist having to tell the waiter what we want for desert before we’ve even started the meal. I, for one, don’t know what I will want, if anything, until I have finished my main course.

Stunning views of chateau, river and beautiful village from hotel and restaurant terrace, really memorable setting through needs careful driving through old streets. Hotel is set against cliff side: challenging stairs and streets would not suit anyone with limited mobility, and breakfast is in atmospheric cellar. Good meal at half board rate, although best dishes may need supplements. Do not expect all mod cons: room was comfortable, large and old fashioned, so much the better.

This was our second stay at Hotel Le Bussy (Previous stay 2022) As we were touring, the hotel's private car-park was very useful. Our room overlooked the Loire, with a good view of the adjacent chateau. Everything was very clean, and the bed comfortable. We had dinner at the adjacent restaurant, eating in the garden. The food and wine were good, and the restaurant was busy. Breakfast was in the hotel in a downstairs room at the back. A good choice of breakfast items and good tea and coffee. Very pleasant service.
Nothing. (the car-park was very full so I am not sure what happens if you arrive and there is no room; we didn't ask, but there may be additional parking along the road)

Location was good, parking in the restaurant car park opposite - not a big car park so there may have been an issue if it was busy, but no issue with dropping off baggage in any case. Room was decent size, comfortable with good facilities. Reception was easy and helpful.
There's no bar, which it probably needs given the nature of the town.

Wonderful location. Not the standard hotel. Room with view on the castle and the river. Wonderful breakfast in the cave room.
I don’t like taking a shower in a bathtub. The bathroom smelled like detergents.

Pure perfection! We had a ground floor room, with the perfect view of the Loire and the château. A gorgeous, cosy, but not small room with a beautiful timbered ceiling. The shower room and toilet are separate, so that's a bonus. Breakfast if served in the troglodyte breakfast room. Something that adds to the quirky charm of this hotel. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant across the road. Equally highly recommended.
Nothing to dislike 10!

Excellent breakfast with fresh juice and croissants. Central location in Montsoreau near the chateau with an easy walk to the river and the centre of town. We had dinner in the restaurant which was exceptionally good. Pleasant friendly staff. Free parking in the hotel grounds was welcome.
The lighting in the room was rather poor.
