Lovely, perfectly located place in the center of Bohinj, ideal for hiking. The hotel offers lots of perks that are not usually available like sauna (very reasonably priced), drying room, 24/7 snack bar, and very well prepared info about surrounding events/activities/hikes. The staff is very kind and helpful, you can see that they care about the hotel and people in it. You won’t find modern design rooms and apartments equipped with high-tech technology (all basic devices available) but you don’t need this stuff when you are in Bohinj region. Super comfy beds when you prefer a sturdy mattress like us, pillow menu option at the reception. We stayed as a couple in an apartment meant for four people and in the end it was a great decision because you can feel the extra space especially when you stay longer than 4 nights or when you are forced to stay longer inside because of the weather. The breakfast was great, many variants, good food quality and each day some small changes in dessert menu. After 5 nights we didn’t find anything that would bother us and it was hard to leave. When we compare it to our stay in Bled (also 5 nights) this place/surroundings wins. Need to be mentioned that we visited both places at the beginning of May when the weather was not optimal but mostly without people. During the season Bled will be really overcrowded (we could see it during the weekend).

It is impossible not to love this hotel. The large room is furnished with rustic simplicity, but that is the secret of its charm. It is equipped in a way that allows for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The balcony is large. Parking is always available. The breakfast is excellent, unusually rich and varied for a 3-star hotel. The hotel is clean, shiny and pleasant. The staff, a charming family, will do everything to make your stay pleasant. We enjoyed it very much and I highly recommend it. It is not superfluous to mention the hotel's proximity to the town center and Lake Bohinj.

We loved everything

Everything is great in this accommodation. They have spacious parking lot and for free. Our room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet is variety especially for the ones with dietary restrictions. The receptionist is very communicative and accommodating. And the best part is that everywhere in the accommodation, there are signs and instructions (even in English!) so you don't have to worry which way to go or how to use things. Very tourist-friendly place. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely go back in Bohinj and stay here again.

Nothing to complain about.

They were very welcoming and accommodating. Giving us a number of suggestions for walks and places to eat. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and set us up for a days walking. The room was sizeable and clean, and a good amount of cupboards/drawers. We would definitely stay again

Not a big deal and probably just because we're British 8-) There was no option to make a cup of tea in our room, although there was a fridge. Hot water was available in the breakfast area but tea/coffee was extra (not a problem as we tend to travel with our own teabags 8-)).

Very friendly and helpful staff, full of suggestions for excursions in the area. Beautifully arranged and decorated accommodation, including the public areas. Plenty of parking space on-site. Copious and tasty breakfast, including bacon, eggs done any way, etc. etc.. Top tip: they pointed us in the direction of a superb dinner at the Hotel Cristal (400m or so further from the lake), which gives a reduction of 10% for Hotel Gasparin guests.

Being really, really picky: the fact that the lakeshore is a whole 7 minutes walk away!

EXCELLENT LOCATION - less than 10 minutes walk from lake in Ribčev Laz. Travellers who stay in lake side accommodation have to endure the daily bell ringing at John The Baptist Church at seven o'clock each morning. At Hotel Gasperin we were far enough away not to be disturbed, but not too far away... :-) GREAT BREAKFASTS - very good range of hot and cold dishes with catering for GF, vegetarians etc. FRIENDLY STAFF - helpful with local information. HOTEL GASPERIN - offers a DISCOUNT on local service providers such as bike and SUP hire FREE CAR PARKING on site GARAGE STORAGE in the basement for bikes and other personal travel gear

FAMILY ROOM - had fridge and a dining table but could be improved if plates, bowls, cups and cutlery were provided. NO KETTLE - thankfully we brought our own electric travel kettle (recommended).

Fantastic location (and free to park) so we could leave the car and walk. Friendly, helpful staff, clean, the freshest eggs to order, very good choice at breakfast including cute puddings! Owner helped with dinner recommendations and areas to visit according to weather. Gorgeous terrace with mountain views to sit in. Huge room! Reasonably priced honesty bar. If I was returning to Bohinj, I’d stay here again.

Pillows were quite hard for us so a choice of a softer one would be good.

This hotel is so lovely and has an authentic feel. Great location short walk from restaurants, lake, bus stop, bike hire at tourist information and shops. Great attention to detail such as loads of storage, hooks to hang coats, large bathroom and a drying room. Amazing breakfast with a huge range of options including vegan and gluten free. Very clean, extremely helpful staff who are very knowledgeable on the area. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Good location, walking distance from the lake. There are several restaurants nearby. Room is big and clean, the beds are comfortable. Balcony was also great. This family room is a duplex room, we only used the lower part. The AC is upstairs that could be not the best if the weather is very hot (we had no problem with it). Bathroom is small, but it was very clean. Free toiletries is a bit limited. The hairdryer was very strong. Breakfast was very good, big enough selection and fresh eggs (scrambled, fried, soft boiled, omelette). Parking is free. Number of parking spaces is limited but we have a place every time. Wi-Fi was working great.

An electric kettle would be a great addition to the room. Sometimes you have to wait quite long for the warm water in the bathroom.

This is a lovely and well-run hotel in a good location a few minutes walk away from Lake Bohinj. Our double room was a reasonable size in the usual standard hotel layout, and had doors onto a divided shared balcony to the front of the hotel. Views looked across the road to the mountains beyond. The room was clean, tidy and well decorated; there was a fridge but no kettle, however there was a coffee machine in reception which is free if you don't abuse it (i.e. 0.5 euro per cup, but was not added to bill at checkout). Soft drinks, beer and snacks were also available in reception for a small fee. Breakfast was plentiful and well organised - cheeses, meats, cereals, saussage, eggs, pancakes, vegan options, bread, toast, fruits and more. The only thing they don't have is English Breakfast tea - but then very few places in Slovenia have that!

There was a little noise in the room, as you'd expect from most hotels. We could hear people walking backwards a forwards, and some brief machinery noise on occasion; maybe because our room was above the breakfast area.
