Easy check in and check out. Cases were looked after in a secure room, so we could go out for the day without the cases. Tram stops right in front of the hotel. Room was clean, beds were good and clean, bathroom was good and clean. I thought the rooms where maybe small and noisy being so close together but the room seemed very quiet. In the hall we could hear the neighbors talk but once the door closed there was no noise coming into the room from other guests. We slept with the windows open to doze off and wake up with the city sounds.
The room could do with a re-paint. There are some water stains on the ceiling in the room and bathroom. Remote to the TV wasn't working great.

On arrival we were given a room which turned out the air conditioner not working! It was 34C outside. The room was small n no safe deposit not what I expected from the price I paid. The receptionists were quick to address the air conditioning problem( the maintenance guy said the ac not working) n changed us to another room which meet all my expectations with the size, safe deposit box n air conditioning working straightaway. Thank you receptionists! Location was excellent despite in a tourist area , it was quiet.
The lobby was very warm . No air conditioning!

As a frequent visitor to A-m , i was suprised by good quality of room / on upper 4th floor /. Looks like freshly renovated , small but appropriate for couple without bulky luggage . Only 10 minutes lazy walking from Central station and 5 minutes to Dam . Paid non- refunding rate to Booking and was not asked for 50 eur cash deposit . Check in and out are both smooth and without waiting . Hotel’s lobby area is very cozy , with comfortable couches / occupied most of time haha/
Consider really very thin walls , so everyone can hear “ playful “ couples or ever sneezing at night , like in your own room . If somebody cares…

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the hotel is affordable, central, and we found it to be clean, well organized, with attentive and courteous staff. The rooms seem to be bigger than your regular hotel room in the center of Amsterdam. There are stores and restaurants all around within walking distance. We took a train from the airport to Amsterdam Centraal and it took us about 7 min to walk to the hotel with heavy suitcases - a win! We were also able to check in early - if your room is available early, you can check in for 5 euros per an extra hour.
This would be neat picking really, but I wish the shower had a door. The toilet smelled a bit, but it must be the sewers.

AVENUE HOTEL IS AMAZING! THIS WAS OUR SECOND TRIP TO AMSTERDAM AND STAYED BOTH TIMES HERE. IT WAS MY WIFE AND MY 18Th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND THE STAFF WAS SO WONDERFUL! NOT ONLY DID THEY GIVE US OME OF THERE BEST ROOMS BUT TO OUR SURPRISE THERE WAS A SINCERE HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CARD ON OUR BED WITH CHOCOLATES❤️ I TRAVEL TO EUROPE EVERY YEAR TO SEE FAMILY IN LONDON AND ALWAYS EXTEND THE TRIP TO GO TO MY FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD”AMSTERDAM “ AND WILL ALWAYS STAY HERE. THE BREAKFAST IS INCREDIBLE AND DELICIOUS, IF YOU ARE TRAVELING TO AMSTERDAM FOR LEISURE,BUSINESS OR JUST TO VISIT
EVERY THING WAS PERFECT. NO COMPLAINTS. THE AVENUE HOTEL IS THE BEST.

Room was not the biggest, but was totally what I've expected. It was very clean. They've cleaned the room every day. New towels and everything. There was shampoo and shower gel. The location is just perfect. Very central, close to the biggest attractions and museums and also the train station. Next to the hotel, there is bike rental, which is really nice to have.
There is hardly something that I did not like. If I have to write something, that would be the breakfast. Breakfast was more than okay, just it could be improved for sure.

Really disappointed that you got paper cups in the room for what we paid we expected proper cups for our drinks and not have to use one paper cup for our stay 🙂

The hotel is centrally located with ease to both walking distance to the central Station, car park and the tram stop outside. The room was comfortable and very clean. Beds were comfortable and had all the facilities needed for our stay. The twin room was on 5th floor with a key card lockable door and lift to access room. The windows were fully operational and was able to open them safely with secure glass to cover door way to be able to view out. Considering it’s next to the road it was quiet with windows closed. We had a full bathroom with a full size bath and fresh towels including shampoo and shower gel dispenser on the wall. Coffee/tea making facilities. The vending machine and coffee machine in the lobby area was a great touch aswell as a luggage storage if needed on a ticket basis. The breakfast was delightful and catered for all our needs with fresh rolls, cheese ham aswell as saad and fruits. The hot food option was well stocked. Self service was also great. The parking facilities are underneath the hotel with entrance across the street the hotel sent us a link to pay for the parking in advance which also offered a small Discount on the total cost for our stay.
The only thing we didn’t like was the walls in the rooms are very thin and could hear other guests in there rooms but it didn’t put us off staying or getting a good sleep. The room did feel like it was slopping but it’s an old building so this is to be expected. The bathroom didn’t have very good ventilation being in the middle of the room so became steamy quickly which you can see some small damp spots but again nothing to complain about just noted.

Definitely the thing we liked best was the location. We did several day trips and being just a 5 min walk from Central station was great! We also took advantage of using the tram stop right across from the hotel to get to the Rijksmuseum. The staff were also very welcoming and called our room to check that everything was good. The handwritten personalized notecard and Stroopwaffles at check in, and another left in our room along with a bag of chocolates on our last day were nice touches as well 🥰
The cost for the room we had (family room with a 3 bed loft) was very high but what you can expect for Amsterdam, unfortunately. When we first entered the room, we noticed a strong mold smell coming from the bathroom, but somehow it was all but gone after the room was cleaned the following morning.

Since our flight was delayed we lost our transfer in Amsterdam and had to make a last-minute reservation for the night. This hotel seemed to fit our needs and it did. It’s very close to Amsterdam Central Station, so it’s very easy to get there from the airport. Also, it’s located next to the center of the city, and close to the red light district. The beds were confortable and the breakfast was quite nice for the price, as Amsterdam is an expensive city.
Due to an overbooking we had a room change and stayed in a room at cellar level, which was understandibly noisier as it was next to the street. However, that did not impact our visit, since it was for a night only, but light sleepers should take this into consideration and book a room in the upper floors.
