I was in Zurich with two friends to attend the Santana concert. The Hotel Sternen was very conveniently located at only 10min's walk from the concert venue (Hallenstadion). We had booked a triple room which was so spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel staff from the receptionists to the restaurant staff were amazing, so friendly, polite and welcoming. The hotel was modern and charming. A pity we didn't have time to try the "O" restaurant because it looked great:-) I would definitely stay here again!

It's not a huge deal but it would have been nice to have blackout curtains in the room, otherwise there was nothing we didn't like.

Loved the location of this property, very easy to find. Only 1min walk to tram stop, with trams every few minutes and 5min walk to railway station with frequent trains into Zurich. Surrounding area to property was extremely safe with plenty of shops, cafes & restaurants. The property was gorgeous, so clean and welcoming throughout. It was quiet at all times. The room facilities were superb with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The room size gave plenty of space to walk around. The bathroom facilities were amazing with hot water at all times and facilities fully working.

Bath towels could have been larger and more fluffy, but this is a minor point!

- great communication between staff. - very, very clean. the beds, mattress and linen were literally like they were just bought at the store - great location with many different public transportation options. just a few meters from train station. - very good restaurant inside the hotel, good food and lovely service - our standard room was perfect in size - very friendly and helpful staff :)

- our room was facing the street and in the night it got a little noisy outside, but it's nothing a pair of earplugs couldn't fix :) - hairdryer in our room did not work, but it did not bother us

We were pleased with the location as it was near to a lot of places and tourist sites. The staff were also friendly and the hotel was really clean. The balcony was also perfect as we had a beautiful view.

The price was too much and i dont think the hotel was worth what we paid. the sofa bed was really uncomfortable as it was really hard aswell when slept on. The TV was also in a place where it was hard to see it. We asked if they could wash our clothes, which they did, but we were surprised with the amount they charged us for not a lot of clothes.

Oerlikon is a good base for travelling around Zurich. One stop to Zurich HB and on the line to the airport as well as a stop for lots of trams, you can get most places easily. The hotel isn’t too far from the station - albeit you’d feel it with heavy luggage. We’d travelled overnight from Hamburg and were grateful to be able to drop our things in one of the rooms, which was ready despite it only being 11.30 in the morning. The room decor may not be everyone’s choice but I rather liked the read and dark grey-brown wood and power themed pictures. Makes a change from cream, beige and brown. Room was relatively spacious, including slightly larger than usual shower and in room safe better than average. Kids loved that there were a few more English channels than usual on the TV. Aircon really works properly. We went from 30 degrees down to 19 during our stay and needed to adjust, which it did. Hotel gets the basics pretty much right.

Beds were really soft, which left me with back ache but others may like them. Actual doubles rather that twin mattresses together. Breakfast was a bit meh - only hot option was eggs which didn’t get eaten much so if you were later to breakfast it was pretty rubbery. Decent choice though and Bircher muesli was delicious though. The hated breakfast coffee machines made an awful cappuccino - always a shame but in hotels with hundreds of guests I understand them - here however the breakfast room was quiet quiet and slow and it would make such a difference making hot drinks fresh. Pictures in the breakfast room showed the history of the hotel which was nice. Wouldn’t take much to make the whole thing feel a bit more special. It’s just a bit functional.

The room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the radiant floor heating in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and had some good views of the city. Everyone of the staff members we talked to were great- very helpful and knowledgeable (and helped us get on the right tram, etc). The room has exterior blackout blinds which helps to not only keep the light out, but also cuts down on the sound. Parking was fine- it's about a block away, but in a covered garage. It's 20CHF per day, which sounds expensive, but compared to other parking within Zurich, really isn't bad.

Facing a main street with a tram line, it can get a little loud, but it's not terrible. I thought there was a fridge in the room, but there isn't (oversight on my part). Neither are a deal breaker.

Everything was great. The nearby tram and train station makes it very convenient to travel across. The staff were very helpful. The elevator was down for two days when we were there, however, the staff were very accomodating in allowing my elderly mom to use the service elevator multiple times. Very polite staff and front of house.

Nothing to complain about.

Location was good. It's in a relatively quiet neighborhood well communicated with the airport and the city center by Tram (around 20 minutes to both destinations), which in general works very well. Staff was nice and efficient.

Limited selection of hot options for breakfast (only boiled and scrambled eggs), and also more fruit variety would have been nice, but the breakfast was still good. It was not cheap.

The room was beautiful and spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the option of opting out of breakfast and just paying for coffee/croissant a la carte which was perfect fo us. We loved the location in the Oerlikon section - super easy to get to "downtown" and then only 19 minutes by tram to the airport.

Even though there was a no-smoking sign in the room, it smelled like smoke for most of our stay. We tried to air it out by keeping a window cracked the whole time, and it did get better by the last day.

The bedroom was very large and there was plenty of space. The bathroom was also a good size. The bed was exceedingly comfortable. Everything was very clean. The breakfasts were good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is outside of the city centre but it is feasible because two trams stop very near the hotel and go to the centre of town. One of them is the No. 10 tram which is a short ride to Kloten Airport.

The hairdryer in the bathroom wasn't working. Apparently it gets too hot which isn't much good as the purpose is for hot air to dry my air. However, the reception provided me with an alternative hairdryer which worked very well.
