The rooms, bed, breakfast is all excellent.

SELF CHECK-IN WAS A NIGHTMARE. ALMOST EVERYONE had MASSIVE DIFFICULTIES to do SELF check-in. I took 25 minutes and waited another 20 minutes to get check-in as another person in front of me was STRUGGLING to check in. Another person who checked in earlier tried to help us check in with our booked number also gave up to help us and walked away after trying to help us. Saving COST on LABOUR is SELF DESTRUCTION for a business in the long run & NOT all people are computer literate. Due to this NIGHTMARE, I WILL NEVER EVER WILL STAY in this hotel again, even for A FREE STAY. MY LAST CHECK-IN. Thank you

Great location with a tram stop right outside that took us into town, comfortable room although quite compact

Really happy to have air con provided as it was 35 degrees whilst we were there but it was very loud. Quite expensive but potentially normal for the country

Location is really good. Sound-prood windows were just perfect as it was quite noisy outside because of the transport. Room was clean and fully equipped. Bathroom is extremely tiny.

Unless I asked twice about possibility to give us a breakfast box one day before check out and got the confirmation that the hotel will prepare it without any problems, on the spot it tuned out that they don't have the boxes and they can give us just a piece of bread with cheese and yogurt. Thus, we couldn't use an already paid opportunity of breakfast because of the quite an early check-out and had to buy something to eat for breakfast in the room. I didn't understand the point and what is more important, didn't understand why then the hotel confirmed to me twice that they will be able to arrange it

The room was very nice and directly at the tram station and in walking distance of the Zurich HB. The breakfast was also very good.

The mail you get for online check in did not work for me (the buttons to check in did not work) this should be improved, even when the online check in was completed successfully one does not get any feedback (no mail etc) what to do next and how to get the room key. When at the the self check in at the hotel at least the doubts are dispelled when one can easily key a card there. Another issue is that shampoo and soap is provided but the dispensers are made thus nothing comes out and one has to hassle to get enough shampoo to shower wasting a lot of hot water in the process….

good value. Although we paid more than the hotel typically charges, we were there coincidentally during the one of busiest weekends for the city...... the techno parade. It was also extremely hot the two days we were there, and the room is without adequate a.c. The bed was very comfortable. The staff person receiving us at check-in was excellent. We did check-in before 5 PM.

the portable room handler was barely adequate.

We had a delightful 3-night stay at Sorell Hotel Rex in December, leaving with happy memories. From the prompt response to my room request to the detailed pre-arrival email, the seamless check-in process set the tone for our stay. Arriving early, we were pleased to find our room ready and exactly as requested—a lovely space with a stunning Zurich city view. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a full-size bathroom and high-quality touches like goose feather bedding, soft towels, and convenient amenities such as a coffee machine and yoga mat. It was quiet, cozy, and perfect for a longer stay. The breakfast buffet offered fresh, high-quality options, including locally sourced products. We appreciated the efficient service during busy moments and the all-day refreshment corner with complimentary drinks and snacks. The location was convenient, with easy tram access to the airport and city center, and the peaceful residential setting made it a serene retreat. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional, enhancing the overall experience. Sorell Hotel Rex is inspired by Susanna Orelli, a pioneer in women’s entrepreneurship and a supporter of the Zurich community. Staying in a hotel with such a meaningful legacy added a special dimension to our visit. We highly recommend Sorell Hotel Rex for its exceptional hospitality, comfort, and inspiring story. We would gladly stay again!

Great 3-star (I would call it 3+) hotel in a beautiful quiet area. Very clean and modern. Swiss standard. Has a nice shaded patio guests can use 24/7. Main train station is 20 minutes away on foot, or 5 minutes by tram. Also a 5-10 min from the No. 10 tram, which connects directly to the airport. Really good wi-fi. The immediate vicinity is great for walks and sightseeing Zurich art-nouveau architecture. About half an hour walk to the lake, 10-15 min to ETH and Uni. Zurich. Trams 7 and 15 stop right in front of the hotel.

Having to order meat separately at the buffet breakfast was a bit annoying (I never bothered to do it) - I don't understand why it's so "wasteful" to put a platter of cold cuts next to the cheese platter. No staff present after 5 pm is a bit of an inconvenience - I got by just fine, but I could see how less tech savvy people would struggle. Bakeries, cafes, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel close early - but this is just normal in Zurich. Luckily the downtown area is just a 15 min walk away downhill (or 3-4 stops by tram).

Nice little hotel with helpful staff in a convenient yet quiet location. Trams 7, 14 and 15 pass close by (about 100m to the stop), offering easy access to town Excellent breakfasts with complimentary coffee and bread/pastries throughout the day

It was not the hotel's fault, but the room was quite hot due to the recent heat wave. Staff were very understanding and cooling fans were in all rooms

Nice cleaning service, nice beds. It was a big pleasure to slep there after hard working day.

Online-door opening. It's really a big problem when your phone is over especially. I faced twice with the situation that I had to charge my phone first on the ground floor. The story with free enterance tbh is not safe at all. It's easy enough ro reach the hotel for any person who just knows the code or who just caughts the moment when other guests are leaving.

7min access to the main station through the tram, the tram stop being 1min walk. Self check-in at 9pm went smooth with proper guidance from Jemma, who helped us with luggage drop in the morning. The room and bathroom were clean, cozy and of modern design. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of options. Friendly Ana provided us ample time to stay in the breakfast lobby even after 5pm, as we needed it. Great staff. Total value for money.
