Handy location, nice size room, good it has a lift, very comfortable beds with good sheets and pillows, nice toiletries.

The room had a blind missing to one of the windows looking over the Hbf: very bad! The shower hose was the wrong way around so I unscrewed it and fixed it correctly for you: no charge! Check in a little unclear and unintuitive.

The location of the hotel was really ideal. It is conveniently located about a block from the main train station, by the back entrance, so it's an easy walk with luggage and then easy to get back to the train station to catch a bus or tram or walk anywhere in the city. It is probably a 15 minute walk from the Old Town area. I really liked the room design and access to a coffee machine. The access to the roof terrace was really enjoyable as well; it's a great spot to bring a snack or a drink and relax. The bar on the ground floor is convenient too.

The self check-in process was pretty straightforward, but a little slow since there is only one machine. It would have been great if there were two machines so multiple people could check in at the same time.

I really enjoyed my stay here - friendly staff, good facilities, great coffee machine for early risers, cafe downstairs, and an excellent location for the train station and public transport. I lucked out and found a deal on the deluxe double, which had two windows for cross ventilation. But there WAS some sort of air system in the room, I happened to stay when it was cool, so I shut it off. Great bed, excellent shower and very good windows to block sound. In fact, I never heard anyone on my floor and yes, I had neighbors. Very quiet. I’d definitely stay again as I got real rest here and certainly recommend.

I don’t get the pillows?? Very flat and uncomfortable. Most hotels have pillows with different heights rather than all the same flatness - literally on the mattress?? Also, it’s the norm around the world these days to have a mini fridge for guests. Switzerland is my 59th country, and it’s one of the only countries I’ve visited that isn’t providing one. There’s plenty of room, and Switzerland is well aware that it’s very expensive for most visitors.

Centrel location.

Put are passports into safe come to get them out next day ,and put out code in safe would not open went down to reseption ,no one there had to go to sister hotel to get a members of staff she came over with her code and a set off keys that didnt work over 2 hours had passed and missed our train to the rhine falls as it was our last day we wernt leaving with out our passports very dissapointed so had to walk around zurich before getting are plane home.

We booked this hotel because we had an early train to catch, and the location couldn’t be better — it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the main station. The room was small but cozy, clearly designed for a good night’s rest. The bed was very comfortable, and the design — especially in the bathroom — was stylish and well thought out. A great place to stay for a few days. We also really liked the bar instead of a traditional hotel lobby. It had a nice, intimate atmosphere, almost like a gentleman’s club, and the bartender was very friendly

Unfortunately, the cream provided for coffee in the room was spoiled - it seems it hadn’t been replaced since the previous guest. But honestly, that’s a minor issue and didn’t affect our overall impression.

The beds were very comfortable. The location is great because it’s near the train station. There was a very good breakfast in the sister hotel a block away.

Because it is a self check in hotel, there is no staff to help you if your key card quits working.

The location is great, also the hotel room view was nice and had a lively vibe. Theres's a great cafe downstairs, with super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel room had everything you would expect and was spotless clean.

The shower holder was broken and it made it very uncomfortable. I spoke to reception and they did offer a free breakfast as compensation, but it would have been nicer to get that solved. Also there were two beds with a noticeable space between them. Not ideal.

The location was super good just a few mins walk from Zurich HB train station. I was just having an overnighter before my next train the following morning. I booked a small room and yes it was tiny but it was a one night only. A lot of restaurants of varying quality around too. Staff at the cafe were great and there’s a self checkin at the counter of the cafe.

The room was missing the remote for the tv haha but also the self checkin was a little impersonal however this didn’t take away from my use as a one night only hotel.

Planned as just a quick stopover for work, I´d be happy to come back and stay for more nights! The rooms are small but cozy, really comfy and large beds. Cute little cafe / bar served by super friendly staff, perfect to wind down with some beers, wine and snacks / baguettes. Fantastic location just behind the train station and bars and cafe´s all around. Spotless !

Checkin is a bit cumbersome since it´s fully automated and you stand in the restaurant typing your details into a screen so everyone can walk by and see it, but in the end it´s no trouble at all; so just a bit to get-used-to.

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the main station, making it very convenient for travellers. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. For Zurich, the hotel offers good value for money, which is not easy to come by. Overall, I would recommend Boutique Hotel Josef if you’re looking for a well-located, affordable option in Zurich.

There’s no shower curtain, so water tends to splash everywhere, which can be frustrating. The cleanliness was average – it could have been a bit better. There’s no chair or table in the room, which made it a bit uncomfortable when trying to do anything other than lie on the bed.
