The breakfast was very nice for a budget friendly hotel, and the whole property was very clean. The best part of the hotel was the staff- the customer service was outstanding and everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. That personal touch was the reason I would highly recommend Hotel Ilha to any traveler.

Honestly, there was nothing to improve. I think it was a great option in a great location for a competitive price. The rooms were fairly basic, but that is what I would expect for a budget friendly hotel.

The hotel is in a central street of Angra do Heroísmo, in a walking distance to the most relavant places, as the Town Hall, the Cathedral, the Garden. It is also near the sea, making it easy to go to the beach. At the same time, it is surrounded by different kinds of restaurants, shops and near a book shop that is also a caffé. The room was nice and clean. Comfortable, though not too much. It was a nice place to arrive to at night for a good sleep. Breakfast was simple, but good. One could eat enough to go on until lunch time.

The location is perfect, close to the marina with the favourite icecreams, the beach, very central. We also like the Donna Amalia cake for breakfast! Our room was on the streetside what gave nice views. The lady at the reception give well-informed information. Better than the tourist office actually! It is also possible to rent a car here, but we did not know that beforehand. Airconditioned room.

We had a very pleasant stay but the bathroom could need some renovation. There was a request not to use the bathtub in case of overflooding. But you do want to shower.

The hotel couldn't be located in a better street in the centre of Angra do Heroismo. It's small and cozy, with character and with very friendly staff. The receptionist helped me with information on public transport to get to the hotel and she was very attentive throughout the stay. Clean room and bathroom.

I would have liked something warm for breakfast, like eggs, but overall I had a great stay.

Hotel Ilha is a great place for so many reasons. Its location is perfect for visiting Angra, but even more importantly, the reception staff is exceptional; friendly, welcoming, helpful and fluent in English. Also, the hotel could not be any cleaner, whether its your room, common places or the very nice breakfast room, everything is immaculate. A very nice, simple breakfast of fresh local breads, rolls, cereals, yogurts and jams as well as coffees and teas are put out daily. Loved the place and hope to stay again any time.

Nothing, however if you have physical limitations, you should know that it is on the 2nd floor and above with no elevator.

I had a great stay here! The hotel offers excellent value for money and is located very close to the city center. You can even see the ocean at the end of the street, which was a lovely surprise. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and everything went smoothly. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it.

Everything was ok

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city of Angra and we were able to access everything easily by walking distance. When the staff was around, the customer support was also great. The first night we stayed at the hotel my husband couldn't sleep because of weird noises. We asked the front desk if we could move rooms and they upgraded us to the suite for no additional charge which was extremely generous of them. We were on our honeymoon and the staff also left us sparkling wine as a gift in our room.

The hotel was almost never staffed, including during main business hours. We had to visit a different partner hotel next door to ask questions and to check in late.

Agreeable, clean, central, comfortable, easy going

Too bad that the breakfast was so poor (no choice, cheap, no quality stuff) The comfort of bedrooms can be very different. I had first a large breezy lovely renovated room on the street with a fridge, and a small crappy room on an inside court with no fresh air the second night.

Excellent location and beautiful building in the centre of town. We had everything what we needed, parking space, good breakfast and good restaurants around the hotel. The last day we were leaving early morning. Breakfast was ready for us at 7.20am. Really good place to stay in during holidays.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful, especially the cleaning staff who also oversaw breakfast, whenever I needed something they always helped immediately and were very kind! The hotel is located in the city center, so it has a great location. It's clean and cozy, the breakfast options were nice, but slightly limited. It's an excellent choice for the value.
