We were very warmly welcomed (including our two dogs). The bedroom was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The dogs were treated to sausages so were not left out. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and therefore an asset to the business. Special mention must be made of both Alice and Helen who were unfailingly pleasant and hardworking and went out of their way to provide a very high level of service. They are to be commended. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Red Dragon Inn which proved to be the perfect base for our enjoyment of Kirkby Lonsdale itself and the Yorkshire Dales.

Clean and modern rooms. Nice atmosphere in the pub. Staff were friendly, particularly the lady who served us at breakfast. Breakfast tasted amazing- i had the Walkers Breakfast!

Only downside was the parking situation. We couldn’t get parked close as it was busy when we arrived. We did notice that all the town car parks had restrictions 7 days a week from 8am-6pm. We arrived after 6pm but would have had to go out at 8am to pay for parking which would have been annoying. We managed to get parked on a street with no restrictions but was a 5-10 minute walk. This was fine as only had a small bag each but if we had more would have been difficult.

We booked the Red Lion at the last minute on the basis of reviews we had read on Booking.com but were unsure how we would find it in reality. However, from the outset we were pleasantly surprised. Our room request was acknowledged soon after contacting the property and was honoured on arrival; the room itself was extremely comfortable and well laid out; the range of teas and coffees in the room was outstanding! The location is excellent. It's right in the middle of Kirkby Lonsdale and whilst we feared there would be a lot of road noise there was none that we noticed overnight. The staff were all welcoming, helpful and cheery. All in all an excellent experience. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay at the Red Lion.

Absolutely first class, all staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious and served by a lovely lady who was delightful and cheerful ( sorry I didn't get her name) pub area is very nice and our server ( Shaun) is a really nice person who knows exactly how to serve people in a polite and relaxed manner he is an asset to the business. All in all this is a terrific place to stay and we have no hesitation in recommending it. Thanks to everyone who made our visit a memorable one. Kind regards Frank and Linda.

Nothing at all it was great.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Dragon, it was clean and comfy. The bar has a good selection of cask ales which were all on form. We had a great breakfast. We arrived after 6pm so were able to park in the Market square which is only a short walk away,(200m approx) We then used our parking app to purchase our parking ticket in the Morning to save running out at 8am. Beware, this does not work on Market days! Check the signage.

Clean pub, excellent food, lovely staff. Excellent bedroom, comfortable bed, clean room, nicely decorated. On the Main Street next to the tourist places and other pubs and restaurants. Brilliant breakfast lots of choice of hot and cold food. Peter the chef, the butter curry was great and Sharon served us breakfast and couldn’t do enough. Quality products used at breakfast and quality tea and coffee selections in the room. We can’t wait to come back and I’m very fussy and I travel a lot.

I contacted the accomodation a few weeks back to check whether the room had a bath and was advised no but I could change the room. I received an email to confirm the room had been changed. The room we were allocated did not have a bath. It wasn't a massive deal so I didn't mention anything until we checked out and Sharon was very apologetic. The shower in the room wasn't very good, maybe it's the water pressure.

Big room, comfortable bed, convenient easy walking to everything in KL. Best breakfast , really beautifully cooked and presented , worth the visit alone. Good value for money.

I don't mind other folk bringing dogs but a dog which barks very loudly everything the bell sounds to say a meal is ready to be served from the kitchen is funny the first time is bloody annoying subsequently and even more so over breakfast. Dog is a slow learner, owners were inconsiderate, staff should change the sign to "well behaved dogs" To be fair they did recognise the problem and stopped ringing the bell over breakfast.

Beautiful property in very good condition and well looked after.

Our room was ridiculously hot. I can only assume that the radiator valve was faulty as we were unable to turn down the radiator. There was also no way we could open the window to get fresh air and cool down, so my wife and I were uncomfortably hot and were unable to sleep for most of the night without resorting to soaking a couple of towels in cold water and covering ourselves with them.

We had a very warm welcome and our room was spacious, well-furnished and clean. We had booked a table for dinner and the food was excellent - as too was the breakfast the following morning.

Kirkby Lonsdale has small and narrow streets - which are mostly one way and we had to park down the road and walk up with our luggage ( I think there was a pull-in outside but it was full at the time). I didn't pick that up from the information given about the accomodation - but it is a minor moan!
