Beautiful grounds

You should state the pool restrictions- I clearly booked for me and a child- we got limited pool use - I only booked this for me to be able to spend form time with my daughter in the pool in the lovely hit weather- if you had stated your pool restrictions I would not have booked - very misleading and when spoke to member of staff about it- they blamed booking.com day guest where also prioritised- all in all not worth it only got 1 hour in the pool 9am 10am disappointed! If that’s the case please mention it on booking as it’s so misleading. I have never complained on booking.com but I will about this and I’m a regular bookings customer ..with at least 7 more bookings this coming year.

Very friendly helpful staff. Food was excellent. We dined at the Tudor Pass. Fabulous food. Lovely to meet the chefs. I'm sure we will return. Enjoyed walking round the gardens. Will be even better later in the year. Comfortable bed. Shame it's so close to M25 but our room faced the other way so not a problem.

We were unfortunate to have a crowd of unruly guests on our corridor who returned at 2.30 am knocking on doors - including ours! and running up and down the corridor. They even tried to get in the room which was quite disturbing. We then struggled to get back to sleep only to be woken with the same behaviour at 8am when we'd hoped to lie in. Unbelievably inconsiderate behaviour. I did tell reception on checking out. Not much hotel could have done except perhaps reminding late arriving guests to be considerate of others. It spoiled what would otherwise have been a perfect Valentine's evening.

The Great Fosters is without doubt one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The hotel and grounds are superb. Super close to Heathrow Airport. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel special. The reception staff were super welcoming and attentive. I love to take my friends and family. Every time I visit the UK I need my time at the Great Fosters, really feels like home to me!

I stayed there for one night following a flight cancellation

Booking our room we received added VIP to the Apartment at Bicester. Not knowing what this was, it made a perfect start to our mini break. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted with kindness and professionalism of a 5 Star hotel. We went for dining experience too which was superb. We were totally relaxed and rejuvenated

The bar experience was slow in coming round to ask for refills but the staff were friendly

The Dinner in The Tudor Pass was first class and was well above our expectations especially the 'Reverse Menu' concept was really really inventive by the Executive Chef. The wine pairing was first class and produced some really interesting combinations.

The quality and skills variation of some of the staff was and is unacceptable at a 5 star establishment. The Bar Staff in particular were very poor in their execution of providing a correctly mixed cocktails and Pimm's with some struggling to provide even the simplest of drinks. The appearance of some of the staff was very poor, almost scruffy, ill fitting, trousers, shoes and general their general presentation again unacceptable at a 5 star establishment. The suite we had was a little tatty in places and did present value for money.

The room was lovely. In a new building and had plenty of space and air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great.

Breakfast was very disappointing. We were told that it was a buffet when we arrived. Many things were missing and not replaced while we were there. We had to ask for toast. There was no selection of jams or honey - just some clear red jam in a little glass bowl. Who knows what it was. After we had finished eating we saw other tables had ordered eggs and eggs Benedict. This wasn‘t offered to us at all. The other issue for us old folks was that there was no telephone in the room. Just a tablet with a QR code - no instructions on how to use it to contact the front desk or room service. In fact we used it to order a bottle of wine, got a confirmation of the order, but the wine never showed up. We weren‘t billed for it so obviously we did something wrong!

I am so glad I found this hotel. I was not expecting anything as wonderful so was pleasantly surprised. It makes all the difference to a stay when every one of the staff are helpful and friendly. It was my birthday and I was kindly upgraded to a wonderful room and it really did make me very happy. The place is immaculate and well looked after and the grounds are incredible. Thanks so much!

Staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and well tended. The shower was completely updated and had very hot water. I will definitely stay there in the future when I visit my daughter at Royal Holloway.

I struggled a little bit with the in-room tablet, due to internet issue. I was also sad that the spa had a no refund policy, as I made a mistake with my booking and couldn't change it online.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Lots of history and original features. Front of house staff amazing, warm, friendly and extremely helpful.

The bar service was extremely poor, waiting 20 minutes to be acknowledged or served. The main restaurant we waited 5 minutes to be seated and this only happened when a colleague told the manager we were waiting to which he retorted “I’m busy” his colleague told him we were guests, some 2 minutes later we were seated. we ordered including drinks and these took 25 minutes to arrive along with our starter. A bit of a Faulty Towers experience wrong cutlery etc. However the food was good but certainly not value for money.
