I liked the chocolate croissants. My biggest challenge was only eating one!! There were other items I failed to try because the croissants with chocolate were so superior I just ate them every day. Also, this hotel has a lot of history. I enjoyed hearing the story of the hotel and reading the pamphlet. I also liked getting to know the history of the hotel from the current owner. This hotel has been in his family a long time. I like that there is a long term story of culture associated with this hotel!
This is difficult to answer because there was nothing that I can find wrong with this experience!

I stayed here due to another accommodation cancelling my stay when I arrived in Chamonix in the evening. Booked one night as an emergency. The man at reception was very helpful. I ended up extending by another 4 nights. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, location is right in the town centre although it can be a little loud at night sometimes but I didn't mind. The staff are absolutely excellent especially one of the ladies who was on reception most days.

I love the vibe of the Hôtel, it has this old school traditional check in corner, the common area feels like a comfi antique museum. Just a warm energy, I can understand that some might think it’s outdated, but I simply love it. It’s clean, dust free, and well maintained, which is important because if that would not have been the case it would not be inviting to sit downstairs at all. The have this little room where they have a hole collection of gemstones, and even here you could not see any dust on the shelves, little signs that show that they take good care of their hôtel. Same in my private room, bed was comfi, and everything was clean and wel put together. And I simply loved the staff, you can see that they all love their job, but also this place (hôtel Richmond, and Chamonix), and that shows with positive energy and good vibes.
Honestly, I have no comments on something I disliked. Albeit, I only stayed one night so I didn’t stay long enough to perhaps notice something I didn’t like.

Hostess was glorious! Location is right in the heart of Chamonix. Easy walk to get to major sites. 5 min stroll to Aguille du Midi cable car. The room was comfortable and had a great view of Mont Blanc. The shower was superb!
The hotel is a grand old dame of Chamonix. It could use some TLC and refurbishment but it has great bones. The rooms are comfortable and the reception area is cozy. So no complaint to use it as a base to hike, ski etc.

Everything. The staff were so warm and welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town and right next to all the ski bus stops. The room was delightful, the style of the property was beautiful and traditional. The games room was great for adults and kids alike with table tennis, pool & table football. A beautiful breakfast room with views of mt blanc.

Rooms a nice size with a small table and 2 comfy chairs. Clean. Comfy bed. Parking good. Staff very nice. Love the old world charm of the place, built in 1914. Very close to everything.
Shower in a very deep bath without a shower curtain to contain water. No handles on the wardrobe doors, bit hard to open.

the location: right in the heart of Chamonix, you can’t be closer than this. 1 minute walking to Chamonix center bus station. staff: the most amazing experience I’ve had in years of travel room: the room is clean, recently renovated. I am OCD, the level of cleaning is very good. the staff offered help with all our questions and activities we had in mind parking: the hotel has its own parking others: dog friendly, and still clean. if you want to transpose in time, this is a vintage experience you won’t get anywhere else
there is nothing

The hotel is on main street in busyvarea but it's set back and is very quiet. I thought I was getting a regular room and it was a suite. Staff were wonderful and so helpful! I extended my stay an extra night and they honored the rate I paid with Booking no problem Loved it and would stay again.

It's a 1914 building that preserves some of its Belle Époque charm, the well-preserved original floors and some original furniture in the common areas make you feel like you're in a movie. I loved staying there and was imagining movie scenes, balls taking place in halls with wooden floors and decorated bricks from the Victorian era. It makes you go back in time and imagine how many things happened there, including German and American soldiers who passed through there during the war. Very charming and clean building, our room was recently modernized and redecorated. Then you can choose your room style as they have modern or vintage rooms. Our room had a wonderful balcony overlooking Mont Blanc, not forgetting the bathtub with a window also overlooking the wonderful Mont Blanc. They have a nice game room with ping pong, pool, pacal and foosball. The ladies at the reception are very friendly and willing to help you with everything you need to have a good stay. And, of course, they speak fluent English. I really enjoyed the experience and I hope the hotel manages to maintain its original features.
It's not a negative point or a complaint. It is expected that a building over 100 years old requires maintenance and I imagine that it is not easy to keep a family business operating for so long without suffering the consequences of competition. The hotel has enormous potential to attract many more guests as it has a differential for preserving original features. I would invest first in the external area, recovery of pavements, sidewalks and gardens and signage. Later, in the internal area, I would gradually make improvements while preserving the original characteristics of the building as much as possible. With the advent of instagram, I would create an instagram page and rebrand the hotel as Vintage Hotel and collab with vintage niche content creators to promote it.
