This is a lovely little hotel just off the A1 in Belford Northumberland. It's an old building and some of the decor is a bit dated but tbh I think that adds to it's charm. The room was clean, large and comfortable. TV, Ensuite with bath and shower, tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and seemed to genuinely care if we'd enjoyed our stay or if not what could be done to improve it. We had a slight issue with the water in the shower being too hot but tbh this was better than it being too cold! but we mentioned it on check out. I received an email prior to arrival to say there would be no restaurant facilities available and this was fine with us as plenty of options around the hotel but I would love to stay again and try the restaurant when it is open. They did offer continental breakfast and hot breakfast buns for the morning - we didn't have this but it's good to know there was an option. This hotel was great value for money, We've stayed in several places in Northumberland before who have charged a lot more and the accommodation been a lot worse so we will definitely be returning to the Blue Bell Hotel. Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel had only reopened a few days before our arrival and not all facilities were in place, eg the kitchen was not fully functional, meaning evening meals or a cooked breakfast were not available, but they provided very good bacon or sausage sandwiches. The staff were all friendly and helpful and our bedroom window had a good view down the main street of Belford - more picturesque than it sounds :-)

The ability of the hotel to provide evening meals and full cooked breakfast - that may now be in place.

The hot breakfast choice was limited owing to the recent kitchen fire but the staff were great in ensuring the choice was as good as they could make it. Unfortunately this meant the restaurant was not open for evening meals which was disappointing however, despite this, I enjoyed my stay. I would have no hesitation in staying in the future.

The only thing I didn’t like was not being able to get an evening meal at the hotel although clearly that was down to the unfortunate circumstances of the kitchen fire.

The Blue Bell Hotel was good value for money. The breakfast was beautiful and was included in our stay. It was very dog friendly. They even left little dog biscuits when they cleaned the room. Thank you for that. Lovely hot water every night for relaxing baths. Dinner was excellent ( complements to the chef). The staff were lovely. Nothing was a bother to them. The hotel was a great base for everything we wanted to do. I'd definitely recommend it. Parking outside hotel was free. No electric changing points but super chargers were 2 minutes away.

The church clock dinging every hour lol. In our room no 10, we could hear the boiler stopping and starting all night long. So maybe ear plugs for them lol. Had a lovely stay. Maybe need more staff as there staff were run off there feet.

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful team member who got us settled in, made sure we could get a drink from the bar and checked our restaurant reservation was all ok. The hotel was beautifully kept, with a good choice of local drinks in the bar and locally sourced food in the restaurant. Our room was lovely and clean and comfortable. The hotel made clear that hot water would take a bit of time because of the age of the building so we were OK with that. Dinner and breakfast were great and the staff could not have been more welcoming. A lovely stay

It was good - as noted the shower wasn't the greatest but if you stay in a very old building you accept those kind of things, especially when everything else was good.

This is a lovely old hotel with lots of character. Our room was at the back overlooking the garden with a view of the church. We especially liked that we could hear the church clock chiming. Food was really good. Having a cooked breakfast included in the price was excellent value. Plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in our room. Would definitely stay here again

Our bed had clearly seen better days and was a bit creaky.

This hotel is the centre piece of the village and is easy to find. Our room was large and comfortable. It had a bath and shower which was welcome after a long walk. The hotel is quaint and has a lot of history. Great location for walkers and visitors to the area.

On our visit the restaurant was closed so no availability for any food on our arrival, cooked or otherwise. We were told only a continental breakfast would be available. In the event helpful staff cooked us a bacon sandwich.

Staff were very helpful at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting is lovely. I had stayed at the Blue Bell almost thirty years ago, with my family in the annex, so it was great to stay in the main part of the hotel.

It’s difficult to criticise because part of its charm is the age of the place, but my room was a bit tired in decor and the bathroom was dated. This may not be the case throughout the hotel.

Brilliant location, people really friendly Hotel has been there for 100's of years, so steeped in local history. lots of places of interest to visit just didn't have time, will stay for longer next time.

Not much to do at night, only two other pubs, chippy really good but closes at 8 pm, but it's still early in the year so cant really complain. no other shops to speak of local newsagent open early and shuts at 11 am, however local o op store 2 minutes walk sell most things.
