Excellent location on highway one. The beach with a beautiful view is walking distance, and Hurst castle and other things next to HW1 just a short drive away. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi - they're somewhat rundown but excellent after a long day of driving / hiking. There's a restaurant with breakfast and dinner at the property. The staff was very kind and accommodated our late arrival (for which we are super thankful). All in all, AMAZING value for the price.

Check-in was easy. The lobby was very clean and nicely decorated. The room was a good size, clean, and looked newly renovated. Heater worked great, it was chilly and rainy so it was wonderful to warm up. There is a nice ceiling fan and really appreciate that it is on its own switch so light and fan can work independently.

Nothing, it was a great stay and would book again.

Room was clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful. Grounds kept well. Several restaurants within walking distance and their food was excellent! It is a short distance into Cambria and to the beach. We are looking forward to staying again next year.

Having a small table and two chairs for reading or playing cards in the evenings. We couldn’t use the microwave because we couldn’t plug it in but it wasn’t a game changer. We had trouble with the exterior door handle but notified the staff to correct it.

Stayed here many times. Wonderful indoor pool and jacuzzi. No one was using the pool and jacuzzi but me. The entire stay. Beautiful temperature on the pool you could actually get in the pool. The jacuzzi had fabulous bubbles. Beautiful interior courtyard full of grass picnic tables and chairs to relax in. You can hear the waves from your room. The ocean is maybe one block away. I will always stay at this hotel when I'm in San simeon.

Everything was great!

We stayed in #172, a floor unit for the disabled. We have stayed in the hotel many times, but never in a disabled room. I loved it! I struggle with the shower that I gotta step out of. This one, awesome! I could just walk out. Always clean room, always friendly service. The bed was so comfortable. We are close to convenience stores and places to eat. We could walk to the beach too!

Far exceeded my expectations! I spoke with the hotel staff multiple times before arriving and everyone was wonderful and helpful. I arrived late and there was someone to greet me. The room was better than I expected given the great low rate I booked. The bed was easily the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in while traveling. The fridge was larger than a mini fridge and worked really well. The room came with a microwave as well although I did not need it. I tried the coffee which was sadly watered down but honestly I find that at most hotels and is not the fault of the hotel. My room was spacious and clean, the bathroom had been remodeled and was beautiful. I loved their environmentally friendly measures of providing soaps in refillable containers and I never had any issues with being out of soap. Water pressure and temperature were great. The only thing I wish I had was a light over what is the closet area in the corner as it was quite dark. Super close to the Hearst Castle, the lighthouse, and elephant seal viewing. Many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel but many more only a short 5-10 minute drive away. I only stayed for two nights/three days but if I didn't already have plans to move on I would have stayed a few days longer. I will definitely be back!

I wish there was a light in the corner where you put your luggage. It was very dark sometimes and hard to see what clothes I wanted to wear without moving my entire suitcase over to the bed.

The pool is very nice and the location is fantastic as it across the street from the beach!

The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating is the two front desk gals were pretty cold. They didn't even acknowledge me when I approached the front desk. It was obvious I was an interruption. The younger, smaller gal mumbled so softly I could barely hear her and it was obvious she was new. The taller gal rolled her eyes at one point in the check-in. There was a VERY nice guy at the front desk who SMILED, spoke clearly and was VERY helpful. Also, FYI no hair dryer in the room if that matters to you.

Located across the Hwy from the beach. Great value for your money. Walking distance to little stores and restaurants. Had room upstairs with balcony of garden/property views. Big comfortable king sized bed. Room was clean and fresh.

Noise levels were higher than I’m used to. A lot of families with small children and dog barking.

We stay here all the time we love the indoor pool & jacuzzi. The manager is awesome and always helpful. The rooms are small but cozy. Huge grass center courtyard that our little service dog loves to run around in. Very pet friendly!

All the obese, loud & obnoxious kids in the pool all morning. There are no lessons on manners for children anymore it seems.

Location was great, literally across the road was the beach. A few restaurants were within walking distance. I booked a room with a chimney and it was useful and made the room comfortable without having to turn on the heater. The room that I was given was on the second floor #282 facing the beach. This hotel had a headed indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The room was cleaned daily, even without asking.

It did not have an ironing board. I asked the front office for an iron and they provided one. Front desk staff were always very helpful and welcoming.
