Manager met us on check in, offered fresh baked cookies, perfect. Very professional and friendly. Great hot tub, pool, breakfast, fire ring, balconies on each room and dog friendly without an extra fee. Spacious rooms also. Staff worked constantly to provide that extra care and quality that you don't find much anymore. Breakfast was exceptional with the best coffee I have run across at any hotel. On check out the hotel attendant offered us a snack for the road. Very nice touch. We would love to come back.

Mattress was a little firm, but that is just a note from this traveler.

From the moment we arrived, Edward, the boss, was on the ball. Whether it was information or help with our bags, or just having a chat about us and where we were from. He even commented on my Clash tee-shirt, and how they were one of his favourite bands in his youth. So that was a great start to our stay. His son, also Edward, took the morning shift, so looking after breakfast was part of his job, and just like his dad, the attention to detail was fantastic. The rest of the team should also join in for some praise. The property was spotless and the pool area with its hot tub and fire pit was superbly maintained.

The weather, but that was outside their doing, also it would have been nice to stay a bit longer, to enjoy the hospitality and explore some more of the area.

Great full breakfast, Close to the ocean and Cambria with good resturants in Cambria. Very friendly staff, cookies in the office and coffee. If you want to go to Hearst Castle very closeby. We didn't have time to go on the tour but we went to the museum there. Highway one still closed below Big Sur so you can't take it all the way down from were it is to the hotel. Morro Bay is not very far either and we went there for lunch on the way to the hotel. You can walk to the ocean just across the street if you wish. It was a lot less to stay there than many of the other hotels in the area. It is not newer or a deluxe hotel but we enjoyed it. There is no elevator just steps but that wasn't a problem for us. There is a pool and a fire pit too.

The room was spacious and clean, with a small kitchen area including a microwave and fridge. Good cold and hot breakfast provided, with tea and coffee available all day. A great place to stay if you are visiting Hearst Castle. We walked and ate at the close by Big Sur Restaurant which provided good food at a good price. Supermarket (Cookie Crock Market) is a 10 minute drive to Cambria and provided a good range of produce. Overall, a good value place to stay on our southerly drive down the coast. Staff were extremely helpful in returning items that we had left behind.

The room was a great size ,beds were so comfortable,lovely pillows slept like a log .nice and peaceful too and very clean .Breakfast was included ,was expecting just a continental but no absolutely everything on the go,cereal,waffles,cooked breakfast,fruit,toast etc ,all served nice and hot and plenty of it .Pool looked lovely and outside area so clean and inviting too ,wish we'd had longer to enjoy it.Ate in the restaurant food was fabulous,the chef knows his stuff I had the seabass was sensational ,sauce was divine ,my partner had the seafood pasta and his was delicious too .Miguel the restaurant manager looked after us well and gave great recommendations on wine ,and was warm and friendly and took time to chat to.us .Edward the general manager was so warm and welcoming ,we turned up later than anticipated he gave us a choice of rooms and was so cheerful and lovely . Absolutely recommend this little gem ,everyone there gives their all and it really does excel at customer services and giving their guests the best experience..

Nothing at all ,could not fault it

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, great water pressure in the bathroom/shower, we had a bit of a view of the ocean across the street, the breakfast was great and included the best biscuits I've ever had, the staff was very friendly and helpful, they put out yummy homemade cookies each day, and they cleaned our room very well every day of our stay. It was a very pleasant experience and we would definitely stay there again!

It's an older property, which could maybe use a fresh coat of paint, but not bad.

We were on a road trip stopping at different hotels each night, and this was the cheapest but one of the best for value for money. A variety of coffee, teas, and snacks at reception and a great breakfast included. The room was large and clean. There was a separate restaurant and the food was really good. I chose this hotel for its close proximity to Hearst Castle. We would definitely return!

There was no water coming out of the shower. We did report it in the morning but had to leave before they had time to fix it. They were very apologetic, though.

Very nice hotel, excellent location, very quiet.The service and warm hospitality of the manager Edward, was especially nice. Nice breakfast and fresh free coffee all day long, and excellent homemade cookies served free of charge,. Heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi , free towels with garden fire. We didn't have time to use it, since we came for only 1 night. I am pretty picki tipe of person and i really recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Quality Inn in San Simeon (near Hearst Castle) along with our labrador retriever from April 29, 2024 through May 2, 2024. Our experience was exceptional from check-in to check-out. Morning breakfast selections included bacon, eggs, hot biscuits, make-your-own waffles, an assortment of teas, yogurt, orange juice, cereals, muffins, pastries and more. The refrigerator in our room was large enough to store our perishables and included a small freezer, which was the perfect size for refreezing our blue ice. It was a plus for my husband to have an outdoor hot tub available after an active day along with the extra towels that were provided poolside. I was especially thrilled that in addition to being pet-friendly, there were no additional pet fees for having our dog with us. Oh, and let's not forget the friendly touches that were available in the lobby such as fresh-baked cookies each day as well as easily accessible hot coffee and hot water for assorted teas, hot chocolate and instant breakfast cereal. We would stay here again with or without our dog in a heartbeat!

Of course, there is room for a couple of room improvements. Upgrading the room heater (which was old, manually-operated and beyond outdated) to a new, digitally-controlled thermostat would be a huge benefit. Although relatively minor, providing a larger capacity hot water/coffee maker in the room would be beneficial as well.

We stayed at Quality Inn for one night and had a fantastic experience. Edward at the reception was incredibly welcoming and made my family feel right at home. He even upgraded our room, which was a lovely surprise. The environment was spotless, and the breakfast exceeded our expectations—delicious and satisfying. My sons especially enjoyed their stay, making it even more memorable for our family. A helpful tip for future guests: don't miss the Elephant Seal Vista Point, which is just a 7-minute drive from the hotel. It's a unique and amazing experience worth checking out! If we visit San Simeon again, we will definitely choose Quality Inn. Thank you for such a great stay!
