Everything, Great stay, rooms above pub but still very quiet. Lovely and clean can't fault it. It's a credit to the cleaners. Everybody friendly and welcoming in the bar. Staff great and locals welcome you, to enjoy a chat or play a game of pool together. Would definitely stay again, can't wait to go back. Nothing we didn't like, if we had to say something it would of nice to have a breakfast first thing before going out for the day. They don't do meals but this is in no way a criticism. There is a burger bar connected to the pub for convenient food and we did sample it and plenty locals picking up ordered food whilst we were there. The welcoming guide in the rooms gives a list of nearby cafes for breakfast and also nearby restaurants for evening dining which is very helpful of the pub.

a nice cozy little room (room 6) with tea/coffee making facility and biscuits topped up every day. the room was nice and warm and the bed was comfy enough. the bar was quaint and showed Premier football on tv and you could play pool for free with some very friendly locals.

Just a shame they no longer serve food, maybe they could strike a deal with a local to put on a breakfast ? maybe the cafe at the bottom of the lane in Benlleck (Bradleys) would be interested, i'm sure this would go down very well with clients.

Clean and comfortable. Its a Shame they don't do food in the evening as you would need to drive and you can't have takeaways in the bar. Apart from that the bar prices are reasonable it's well located for driving out to explore and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

No dislikes. Worth noting that you would need to drive to get most places as there isn't much within walking distance. This could either be a positive or negative but worth a mention.

The bed was really really comfy, and the room was quiet and warm. I had the best sleep I've ever had at a hotel or B&B. The room was really clean as well. The owner was a great bloke who was really helpful and friendly. I'd travelled alone and when sat in the bar he made an effort to talk to me and made sure I felt welcome and at home. The other people in the bar were really friendly too. They served an excellent Glaslyn Ale brewed by the Purple Moose Brewery and the bar service by all the staff was excellent. I had a wonderul time in their company. It is really well situated being near to beautiful resorts like Benllech, Molefre and Treath Bychan and is close to the A5025, which encircles the whole island, which makes it the perfect spot to be based during your stay.

There was nothing not to like. Everything exceeded expectations.

No breakfast available which made my stay a bit disappointing as it was Easter weekend and the area was very busy. I had to drive quite a way to find somewhere to have breakfast. I have stayed at the California on several occasions in the past and the breakfast and staff have always been excellent

I very much liked that all rooms contained an en-suite bathroom instead of a shared communal bathroom like many other similar type places that i've stayed at. Also it was only a very short drive to Benllech which has a beach and supermarkets.

Having stayed there for 5 days, i wish i had access to a fridge to keep my milk fresh, as my stay was during a heatwave.

No food available at the property , which was a shame as it’s nice to get up & have cooked breakfast , but was an option to order in a breakfast box the night before for £5 , which was good value , we just went out to a local cafe , literally 5 min drive & had breakfast with a view of the sea .

Only negative , very squeaky floor in bathroom that woke sleeping parties if you had to get up in night to use bathroom

Large car park Nice clean room, with tea, coffee and biscuits and a comfortable bed Great to have the pub downstairs and it wasn’t noisy Good to have the option of getting a takeaway and eating it in the conservatory There was a good Indian restaurant about 5 mins walk away as well as a Burger place next door

There was nothing we didn’t like apart from the shower not draining very well

On a freezing cold, snowy day when we needed a warm, cosy room, this fitted the bill very nicely. The room was spotless, with a well-stocked tea and coffee tray. The heating was on, thank goodness, and stayed on till late at night - and was on again next morning. Toilet/shower room was small, but towels were fluffy and toiletries were provided. The Hotel doesn't provide meals at the moment, but there is an Indian restaurant close by, and next morning we went down to Benllech where there is an excellent Deli that does great bacon baps.

The bed was a bit lumpy, but was ok for one night. On our way out, we noticed some of the other rooms, which looked bigger.

The location was very scenic and quite quiet. The staff were very friendly as well, easy to talk to. The views from all the windows were amazing as well. Really good location to see Snowdonia Mountain Range and the sea.

The bed could've been a bit softer although that's my personal preference from softer bed at home.
