We had such a wonderful stay at this Amish hotel! The entire place was spotless and beautifully decorated, creating such a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. At check-in we were greeted with free cookies, which were so good we couldn’t resist grabbing some again at check-out but they didn't have any out yet—such a thoughtful touch! Breakfast was delicious, and the staff overall were very friendly and helpful. (We did encounter one staff member who seemed a little crabby, but everyone else more than made up for it with their kindness.) This hotel truly exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness, charm, and little extras made our stay so memorable—we would definitely stay here again!

On the downside, the hotel is definitely showing its age. The bathroom design was awkward—the tub had very tall side walls that made it difficult to get in and out of, and the tight space by the closet made the layout uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was the pool and hot tub, which are badly in need of repairs. Pieces of the wall were literally in the water with us, which made the experience feel unsafe and unappealing.

Very nice- wonderful facility and breakfast food- much nicer than you get at many hotels that is free with the stay. Room was large and spotless with very well-made furniture. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Enjoyed a separate part of the room with it's own sink and mirror so that we could get ready in different areas. Staff couldn't have been nicer. The cookies in the lobby were a very nice touch!

Flatscreen TV was on the small size but did it's job! Could have used coasters to place our cups on as we didn't want to leave water rings on the nice wood of the tables and nightstand. We ended up using tissues to protect the wood. Would have liked to have had coffee/juices/ice water available any time of day in the lobby area, but found that these things were only available at breakfast.

The breakfast was the only complaint. The food did not stay warm and there was not enough seating. One morning we had sausage and sausage gravy. A little more variety would have been nice. We were here previously and it seems there was better variety. The lady caring for the area was very sweet and worked very hard.

Breakfast we love the Essenhaus and would be happy to stay there again. We liked our room. The two separate vanity areas was very nice and our location right by the elevator was extremely nice for us seniors. Our room was very quiet.

I really liked the atrium rooms! The little nooks of sitting areas are so cute. My son (9) loved the pool and hot tub, sauna room in the bathroom was neat. The shops attached were fun to walk through on our way to the restaurant. the buffet was good. My son was so excited for the free cookies and tic tac toe in the lobby! The rooms were quiet and cute. I look forward to the spring/summer when we can return and experience the rest of the rest of the grounds!

The breakfast was really picked over with 45 minutes left. I was able to make a waffle, but the warm options were gone.

Extremely clean! When you enter the hotel the smell is so inviting, super fresh and clean with gospel melodies. Everything was well made and taking care of to the fullest! The room was phenomenal. Again super clean, smell was so pleasant. Service was amazing. Greeter at front desk was so helpful, with great customer service. Fresh homemade cookies at the front desk(WONDERFUL)! Breakfast was homemade biscuits and gravy which were really good. This stay made my wife and I so happy. We have definitely spread the word about this place.

Beautiful resort and grounds! From the bike path, you enter the property through a covered bridge, through gardens and outdoor structures that are beautifully landscaped and maintained. The indoor decor is Disney-like, with comfortable seating areas and unique furnishings throughout. I think each room is decorated differently--not your typical cookie-cutter motel set up. We took advantage of the property's restaurant, bakery, pool and workout room--all were excellent. Breakfast was pretty good. Beds were comfortable. We could not hear any external noise from our room, even though we were there on a busy summer weekend. Wish we had booked a longer stay, but the Essenhaus will definitely be our choice when we visit the area again.

Everything exceeded our expectations.

The breakfast was good and the room was large to accommodate everyone. Fresh food was out. Love going to Essenhaus to eat the chicken dinner. The staff were great. The rooms were beautiful. Especially loved the quilted wall hanging.

The beds were ok but at our age we need our head and feet up so it is hard to adjust with pillows but on the other hand there were lots of pillows in the room and our granddaughter rested fine on the bed.

The breakfast area is massively huge. Lots of choices for breakfast but sadly only cold boiled eggs. The cleanliness of the entire place is amazing, even the emergency stairs are clean and looks great to the point of if compared to other places it they would be there main hallway.

The pool is on the small side, wouldn’t try to fit more than 10 adults in it. The hot tub is huge but located up some stairs that aren’t suitable for the older adults. Massive space for the pool area. Only cold boiled eggs are available for breakfast, no scrambled eggs :(

The room was really nice, the beds were comfortable. Always had plenty of space to park. The open areas through out the place were really nice too.

There was construction on the 2nd floor around the breakfast area. The breakfast themselves were underwhelming for the cost that we paid for the rooms. The shower in the bathroom lacks pressure or force so if you have a thicker hair it is amost impossible to wash your hair.

We stayed in the atrium... I love the cozy large room with the tables and couches and large pot belly stove right outside our room. The coffee always available. Cookies in the afternoon. Playing Mexican train at the tables in the breakfast area in the evening. The grounds are so beautiful for a morning walk on pumpkin vine trail. The little shops and restaurant in walking distance.
