Walking distance to Arts Performing Center for a concert was wonderful. Parking was easy. Lobby area and shops in Blue Gate Inn were great. Checking in and out was easy and quick. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean. Room temperature was perfect for an extra hot day. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms need a major update. Reserved two rooms for our group. Although clean, the rooms smelled musty and old. Peeling dry wall tape on ceiling that looked like attempted repairs that didn't take, patched walls with bad paint job over dry wall repairs, heavy curtains to pull shut versus blinds (may add to the old smell?), weathered and discolored bathroom counter and sink, and older toilets very low to ground. Location to concert outweighed the benefits of the room for sure, but next time will look elsewhere for something more updated for that price.

The gathering areas are plentiful, the outdoor one was my favorite! They have a large, patio area with lots of chairs, lights a water feature and a fire pit. The pool is largest than typical chain hotel pools. The breakfast was better than any continental breakfast anywhere, from creating your own omelette to other types of eggs, biscuits with gravy, baked oatmeal, French toast bake, potatoes, waffles, yogurt bar with fresh fruit and donuts. The options are endless.

The bed is right next to the wall A/C unit, so the person on that side has major temperature fluctuations while sleeping.

I love the hotel, shops & restaurant. The staff is always so helpful, friendly and kind. This was my second trip to Shipshewan. My first time was w/my husband. We were there for a weekend getaway and practically has the hotel to ourselves on that Sunday. We really got to enjoy just the hotel that time. This time I was there w/my best friend and it was a completely dependent experience. We had a wonderful time just sitting in all of the lobbies and not only visiting w/each other but with lots of other guests. We got there on Friday so we were able to get lots of shopping. And then we hit a comedy club in Goshen on Saturday night. On the way out of town on Monday, we found even more great places to shop. Next time we are going to bring our husband's. Couples trip.

I booked a deluxe suit and I found lots of dust behind the TV in the common room. And, I found cob webs on the lampshades in two of your lobbies. I cleaned the spats and didn't say anything because your hotel is far more clean than most. But it's something to think about. My problem is my allergies. And I used to be a housekeeper (management). So, I see things others never would.

We loved our room it smelled very nice , it was very clean and it was comfortable. The hotel is in a perfect location for everything. The only complaint I had was when we first got there we asked the front desk if we could possibly have a room with the little porches on them that we could see because with booking it didn't give us that option and the lady at the front desk said no because we booked through booking. But they did have wonderful places to sit outside and enjoy the night air. We're 2nd shift people so we stay up pretty late. But we will definitely be returning and this is definitely the hotel we will pick again and again.

For the price I feel like we could have switched to a room with the little porch with chairs on it. The shower had very little water pressure, wish it had a better shower head and nicer toilet paper.

Spacious room. Good wifi. Excellent breakfast. Good location. Nice lounges and conversation spaces. Nice pool.

Needed robe to go to and from pool. Most 'nice' hotels provide robes for this purpose. This was missing. Would like to see robes in my closet on my next visit. Will this occur? The Decafe coffee was not fully decaffeinated. I am negatively affected by caffeine. Therefore, I can detect caffeine when it is present. When I learned that the Decafe coffee had caffeine, I was no longer able to enjoy my morning coffee from the hotel. I really missed this amenity. I have to wonder WHY the hotel does not serve fully decaffeinated coffee in it's Decafe dispensers?

The hotel was great incredibly family friendly. Love the game room. Breakfast was fantastic, best hotel breakfast I have ever had.

Staff were horrible at communication. Waited at the front desk for a long time before someone who was cleaning the outside came in and said they would try to help me. The pool was down. I called before hand as this was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. I talked to the staff and they told me it was that they just put chemicals in the pool and it would be open in a couple of hours. I kept calling the front desk and then finally asked them if they could let me know if and when the pool would be open. Zero communication. It was down for 3 days. I was not the only one pretty upset about this. That made the game room full with families trying to find things to do with children. There should be an email or text that gets sent out to let us know if the facilities are not going to be in use.

Location was close to everything. Breakfast was included and it was a premium breakfast. The pool and hot tub were very good.

The location of the room. It was not a full capacity night, I wish we were offered a choice of room location. I am handicapped (have to use a cane) but don’t require special accommodations. It would have been nice to not have been so far from the elevator. It was very exhausting just getting to and from the room.

The breakfasts were great, the staff was friendly and attentive. The location was only a short walk away from the room. The pool and hot tub were exquisite.

I guess there's always something? The pillows were just a little too soft, the toilet didn't flush entirely. The coffee in the room was pretty bad and I was hoping for a USB charging port or two. Vending on the third floor was slight disappointment but my diet thanks you. Non of these would keep us from enjoy your establishment in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We loved that the concert venue was right next door. The free breakfast was great and the ice cream after the concert was great too. It was so nice and quiet at night too. And everyone was really nice and helpful when we asked about anything.

We loved our room except it was musty and damp and had high humidity, even with the air conditioner on. The carpet felt damp as well. As soon as we walked into the room the humidity hit. We turned off the air conditioner as it just didn't seem to help with the humidity. We had left it on for a couple of hours thinking it would help but then it was a little cold and damp. Otherwise, our stay was great and we will stay again if we come for another concert.

The property boasted great common areas including an ice creamery, indoor pool, hot tub and fire pit. The lobby served as a comfortable and roomy gathering space. The provided breakfast included most anything that you would expect along with a made-to-order omelette/egg station. The rooms were extremely large and contained a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel also honors the Amish community with photos and artifacts throughout.

While very clean and comfortable, the property could use some updating particularly in the rooms.
