We loved that the concert venue was right next door. The free breakfast was great and the ice cream after the concert was great too. It was so nice and quiet at night too. And everyone was really nice and helpful when we asked about anything.

We loved our room except it was musty and damp and had high humidity, even with the air conditioner on. The carpet felt damp as well. As soon as we walked into the room the humidity hit. We turned off the air conditioner as it just didn't seem to help with the humidity. We had left it on for a couple of hours thinking it would help but then it was a little cold and damp. Otherwise, our stay was great and we will stay again if we come for another concert.

We always enjoy coming to Shipshewana and staying at the Blue Gate Garden Inn. I have lost track of how many times we have stayed, and it has always been a pleasure. It is a great location because it is right next door to the Blue Gate Theater; we always partake in the wonderful shows. The breakfast at the Garden Inn is top-notch and we enjoy the pizza shop and game area.

The last two visits we have noticed the beds have become so uncomfortable. It is to the point where we wake up with back, knee, and hip pain. I don't remember ever having this issue before, but after the second time and I'm not sure we want to go through this again. I don't know if you did something different with your beds, but they are like lying on a table.

Great hotel. Everything from the staff, location, cleanliness, awesome breakfast buffet and all the extra fun stuff is top notched.

The only thing I had a problem with is the parking. Me and my husband are still young enough and able to walk so it wasn't really an issue for us. But we did come across an elderly couple that had walkers that was having a difficult time walk all the way to the front door. The problem is when there is a show next door they all park at the hotel so when hotel guests come back after dinner or being out for the day there is hardly any parking and if there is parking its on the last row by the road. I feel like maybe there should be more consideration for hotel guests especially the elderly and handicapped.

The Blue Gate is such a charming hotel for its large size. The decor is fun with all its figures, including life-size livestock and a farmer on a tractor! The pizza/ice cream parlor was fun and yummy! The best part was all the spaces for guests to sit and visit, and they did, which was so cool to see people enjoying the hotel instead of just going to and from their rooms. The guests ranged from families with young kids to mature adults. There was something for all to do. Our group consisted of a grandma, mother, and two teen daughters. We all had so much fun together and laughed so much. It was an expectedly great time, and we will be back!!

I have no negative comments for this stay.

The Inn was right next to the venue we were going to for a concert. Clean, comfortable, decorated beautifully. Enjoyed our weekend stay very much. Good breakfast, lots of choices for food. The staff was very friendly. Sitting outside by the firepit was really nice. The courtyard was beautiful with the plants, trees, little pond, lights, and firepit. Check-in and checkout were easy.

The only thing that I can think of was the ice machine on our floor was out of order, so we had to go to other locations to get ice, but other than that, everything was great. More tv channels would've been nice.

The Inn was very clean and comfortable. Most everyone was friendly. Served my purpose perfectly. The Performing Arts Center being right next store was very convenient !!

Was hoping to obtain.a room just a bit cheaper for a one night stay. The breakfast room served a lot of food and was a pretty good value,... Didn't care for the coffee or the omelette,... The ingredients need improvement to taste correct,... Was more of a diced egg wrap. Let's say the delicious orange juice and the other food saved the morning 🌅 lol,... Overall,... Not horrible by any means and the entire staff including the omelette maker was very friendly,... Just wish I had went for the waffle instead,...

The room was pretty basic as far as hotel rooms go. It had all the amenities to make the stay enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable. As far as amenities, there was a decent pool and hot tub which is a must as far as I'm concerned. By far, the best thing about this hotel was the breakfast. There were so many good choices for any type of diet and they even had a woman making specialty omelets. The breakfast went above and beyond the usual complimentary breakfast.

Starting from my first impression, the reservation desk personnel were not very personable or upbeat. They didn't seem too happy to be there. Second, the icemaker was not working on the 3rd floor. Third, I was under the impression that the Blue Gate Restaurant was attached to the hotel and it was not. I also didn't realize that everything was going to shut down so early every night. The fact that there is zero alcohol sales anywhere in the county also came as a surprise. I suppose the whole Amish life style is to be experienced but I think that the early closure of restaurants and stores and the zero alcohol should be mentioned in the description. There wasn't much to do in the evening. Thank goodness for the pool and fire pit area. If I come back I will bring my own alcohol.

Location! We had tickets to a. Concert at the Blue Gate Theater, right next door! Walk across a driveway, and we were there. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Omelets made to order, several hearty entrees, bakery fresh pastries in addition to things often found on a hotel buffet. The room was spacious and clean with wonderfully soft pillows. The view directly out the window wasn't picturesque, but in the distance was a farm. The fire pit was open until 11, and the indoor pool closed at 10:30. There were plenty of indoor gathering places and an arcade. Easy, close parking.

The room was absolutely immaculate. The cleanliness of the room made my stay very comfortable. The furnishings were new. The bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, I couldn't have had a nicer, more comfortable room. I felt very at home there. I look forward to staying there again.

The front desk staff could be a little more friendly. The sheets were microfiber material, which is very warm for sleeping. Cotton would be expected for a hotel of this quality. Also, the velour blanket was very worn out. The view from the room left a lot to be desired as well; photos are attached.

The hotel was beautifully decorated,clean, family friendly and quite inviting. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was the BEST complimentary breakfast offered ANYWHERE. We were happy the breakfast hours ended at 10 AM. All other complimentary breakfast offers end at 9 AM. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed by everything about this hotel. We will definitely be back!

We hated to leave! It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
