Very cute hotel in a beautiful residential neighborhood in Amsterdam. Close to transportation to get anywhere in the city. We felt like we were living in Amsterdam temporarily. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

Room was very small but we expected that.

The hotel is located close to Rijksmuseum/ Van Gogh museum 10-12 minutes by walking. Nathalie (I hope I’m spelling it correctly!) was so helpful and friendly to us from checkin to checkout. The room was spacious, we stayed as 3 with our 4 year old and king size bed was comfortable for the three of us (we also had a small sofa bed which we used to place our stuff). The breakfast was freshly prepared, neat and delicious, the lounge area was small but perfectly enough. I love such boutique hotels with tasteful design. The amsterdam architecture overall has steep stairs but the hotel had an elevator so it was pretty convenient for us. Thank you for the lovely hospitality!

We arrived in the evening so we didn’t recognize the heater was off. When we returned back to the hotel, the room was pretty cold. It took a few hours to heat up but then it was all fine. It’d be very helpful if you guys could turn the heater on before the guests check in :) I already gave this feedback during the checkout but wanted to make sure others don’t experience such thing.

LOVED everything about this hotel! Beds were comfortable, showers were great, lounge area to make your own afternoon drink was delightful, staff were friendly, location was great (easy access to commute anywhere but also in a quiet area), air conditioning was nice and cool. We were a family of 5 with two young children and two small dogs and we all loved this hotel. Will be back! We were worried about parking but there were plenty of spots to park our car right outside the front door of the hotel for free. Can’t recommend enough!

The property is cosy, homely yet elegant, you feel relaxed and comfortable. The shower was nicely made. Mattress is comfortable, Tea-coffee station is very useful. All staff is very kind and professional ready to help. Really very good team: all receptionists, breakfast hostess Natalia and house-keeping. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable!!! Breakfast is also very good in quality. As we stayed four nights it was finally too much of the same. But for 1-2 days excellent. I liked location a lot. Extremely nice, quiet, real Amsterdam neighborhood. Not very close to touristic attractions apart from Museum quarter and Vondelpark.

Twice we had broken towels and with stains. Once I told it at the reception and they say that this was surprising, but when in a day we got another one with a big hole in the middle, then obviously I would suggest changing laundry. As this is not acceptable for 4 star hotel and less for such a nice one. For me the bathroom was too cold, though the mirror in the bathroom is heated was still missing warmth and the aircon in the room didn’t help. And I would vary at least some products for the breakfast. For a long stay you wish variety.

The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, and it felt updated throughout. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was excellent, and we really appreciated that snacks and drinks were available throughout the day. The room also had a fridge stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks, which was a nice touch. One of the highlights for us was being able to pick up fresh salads for dinner and then use the hotel’s lounge, cutlery, and plates to enjoy our meal in a relaxed setting. Would definitely recommend it if mobility and being out of the downtown core are not an issues.

Our stay at this hotel was not what we expected. The constant banging of the door every time the person in the neighboring room went in and out was incredibly disruptive and woke us up several times. The room itself was very small and not comfortable for relaxing or watching TV, which made it hard to unwind after a day of sightseeing. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the airport shuttle service, but it turned out to be a QR code for a taxi service. We ended up paying 75 Euros for the ride, which was a far cry from the convenient shuttle we had anticipated. Additionally, the hotel was located quite far from the downtown area. Given our mobility issues, this made it difficult to explore the attractions, as getting around required extra effort and time.

What a find! The perfect little hotel in Amsterdam’s Museums and Concertgebouw quarter, 5-15 minutes from most of the museums. An elegant 19thC townhouse exquisitely converted, with fastidiously creative design at every level, from the spaces themselves down to the imaginative approach to the smallest fittings. An original ground floor living room has been attractively converted into a lounge, with honesty bar and coffee and a beautiful little outdoor terrace peopled with many well maintained small trees and shrubs. That’s also where breakfast is served (the best omelette I have eaten in ages). And the welcome (it feels demeaning to call it service, it’s much more personal than that) is outstanding – friendly, omniscient, nothing is too much trouble. Understandably and entirely reasonably they don’t do dinner, but instead give guests a little leaflet with a thoughtful critique of all the bars, coffee bars, bistros and restaurants within walking distance, divided by cuisine. They have personally checked out each one they say, and I’m sure they have. And all this at a price that’s more than reasonable for such a choice location and beautiful hotel experience. It will be my go-to Amsterdam base for my future trips!

Great location near the museums. Lovely sun room for breakfast or a lol prosecco in the evening. Fun, eclectic decor in the living room. Spotlessly clean room with a modern bathroom. Appreciate the lift/elevator as the stairs are typically Dutch (steep!). Kind staff. Nice breakfast. 10 mins walk to museums, which is my goal when traveling! Would definitely stay here again!

Rooms are small by US standards, but that’s to be expected of a room in a city center in Europe. For me it was fine, since I was traveling solo and with only a carryon suitcase. But I really don’t see how two even small suitcases would fit in the room at all! Just keep in mind or book a larger room if you need the space. Just a minor note/warning to those who don’t travel light. Really lovely hotel, though!

My other part of the family stay at De Ware Jacob boutique hotel in a different room was just as delightful as my previous experience! The location remained unbeatable, allowing me to easily access a variety of attractions, shops, and restaurants just a short walk away. It truly is the best place to be for anyone wanting to explore the area without the hassle of transportation. The hotel’s facilities continually impressed me, offering just what I needed, whether it was a cozy lounge area or convenient amenities. Each aspect of my stay was thoughtfully considered, making it a haven of comfort and relaxation. I left De Ware Jacob with yet another memorable experience and can confidently say that this boutique hotel is a standout gem.
