Staff were really friendly and welcoming, explaining all we needed to know, especially the man who was on duty Lovely room with en suite, bed comfortable, facilites for tea/coffee making, though I don't think there were any of the small pots of milk

It's in the centre of the city so expected it not to be quiet but wasn't expecting somewhere local to be blaring music out till about 4am. Staff said usually they are informed of any local late night events but weren't this time. Also people in room above us sounded like they were moving or dropping furniture around the floor for about an hour. At one point the whole ceiling shook. Again staff said he would speak to the guests We were only there one night

The location is only a short walking distance to the First Direct Arena ( approximately 5-6 minutes) We had booked to see a performance there that evening so it was ideal. Also it is not too far to walk from the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As a resident a 15% discount was applied when purchasing drinks at the bar!

It is located in very close proximity to popular venues which played loud music till 4am. It was difficult to sleep even when wearing earplugs. Brilliant though if you like to stay out and enjoy the nightlife till the early hours and don't want to sleep.

Staff are lovely, the beds are very comfy, more than 1 pillow each, you can come and go as you please after you have checked in, great budget accommodation, close to coach station, shopping and millennium square for concerts. Toiletries smell really nice, and i love the added bonus of complimentary earplugs and the tea tray.

I was in room 3, at front of hotel, and the Shop across the road blares music all night. It's 24 hour and they have speakers in the entrance. Mo idea how they get away with this as it's louder than the surrounding pubs! The complimentary earplugs help but not much. The Curtains do not block the light coming through, and the windows give off a draft, one of our towels had stains on. Fire exit was left open constantly by other guests.

Wonderful location, excellent room with a great view over the bustling streets! Bed was comfy, linen was fresh and clean. Really enjoyed the characteristic charm of the fire place and the way that the room kept its feel of the original building, yet felt modern too.

There were a couple of minor issues that didn’t affect us, but could see why they might affect other guests. Firstly, both taps in the bathroom were seriously loose, difficult to turn on and off. No hand towel, only bath towels. But like I say, none of this created an issue for us.

Location, room size and staff friendliness. Due to being a pub and close to other nightlife venues they supply earplugs and the windows do a great job in blocking out most of the outside noise. All in all a great couple of nights sleep.

The shower curtain was broken on arrival but I rearranged the hooks to make it work. Water pressure in the shower was lacking but that could just be a preference issue.

Location: excellent for theatres (opposite the Leeds Grand) and shops, fairly good for intercity buses and trains. Reasonably priced and comfortable for stopover and morning shower. Friendly downstairs bar.

Narrow, steep and quirky stairs not good for arthritic knees or bulky luggage. No lift -- it's a characterful old building, but as long as you're aware when booking, it's fine for a fair priced stopover for out of towners travelling light

Its central location and price , its very near to both the Arena and O2 Academy. Its situated in an area of qwerty Bars and Restaurants but not too far from the main shopping areas. A programme of renovations is underway and so a lot of the previous complaints have been addressed.

I was aware of its busy location and it was noisy at night as mentioned by others but my booking was on a Thursday so the noise did not carry on too much.

Lovely staff and excellent room

The area was alright if you was joined the 100's of party goers. But not suitable for people who are just going to theatre or concert as music was ongoing in pubs around until 4am in morning. It did say that the area was noisy but didnt think it was till that time and windows wasnt double glazed. Other then that Enjoyed it

Simon and his staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well-equipped. The location was central within easy reach of the city centre and the university.

Unfortunately the property is surrounded by other pubs and bars that play very loud music until late into the night. I therefore wouldn't recommend this property for a work trip (but definitely for a holiday!).

Fast and easy check in. Simon was friendly and helpful. Discount at the bar for guests. Plenty of room for 5 of us in the apartment. Near to nightlife and city centre. We contacted ahead and Simon made sure we had a hairdryer and enough cutlery and pots for our group. Plenty of tea towels, hand wash and toilet rolls provided.

Please be aware that it is very noisy at night due to the nearby nightlife. This goes on until the morning, so not somewhere to stay if you want a good night's sleep. The hotel does warn about this , so believe it! The shower is very hot and difficult to turn down. No bath mat either so the floor does get wet. One towel per person provided so you need to bring a hand towel or use a tea towel. No tin opener- there is now as I bought one. Simon did offer to refund the cost of this. Dining table wobbly so take care. You must lock the door behind you - it doesn't self lock and people can walk in off the street, or if confused about which room they're staying in.
