Amazing breakfast, the best I have experienced for a long time. Super comfy bed and bed linen. Friendly staff and smart reception area.

Only one coffee pod in the room, and it failed to work properly so I never got an in room coffee. Long dark hairs in shower cubical. The room was an odd shape, and very small.

Excellent all around. Great staff and management that accommodated all our wishes over our week-long stay. Very clean room (we got an upgrade), excellent furnishings and an especially nice bed. Very large bathroom that was extremely well equipped and had great towels. Breakfast was superb: a combination of buffet and hot-to-order options, accompanied by excellent coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Excellent location that was just a few steps from the tram stop that got us to most places we needed to go. Just Wow.

Very minor items. We were there longer than most, so we would have liked a few more shelves to lay out our stuff. The shower is a 'wet room' type that took some getting used to.

This boutique hotel is easily a 10. I am not personally a fan of the-old town experience, as loud and co.. This being said, the premises inside are top notch and the people that run it are of the kind. It is an aristocratic place with an atmosphere of a kind. I thank them all for the experience provided and wish them to remain the same. A special nod to Cornelia- most beautiful and elegant lady running the norming show and not only. Fully recommend this hotel for an experience of a kind in Bilbao that is the city of the future, nothing similar in Europa that I have seen. Kaixo, Bilbao. Thank you. Gracias. Multumesc.

What a great find! The quality of this little hotel certainly belies its modest two-star rating! Tucked away in Bilbao's old town this is a lovely historic building, but with very smart modern rooms. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, the bed super-comfortable, and everything sparkling clean. All this and a lovely friendly check-in from the lady on the desk. It was also surprisingly peaceful, despite being slap bang in the middle of the old town.

The closest parking I could find was about 10mins walk away, which might put people with heavy bags off, but otherwise this place is impossible to fault.

The staff, the dining room/hall, the medieval area and proximity to covered market and airport bus.

Everything was good about the property.

❓Bar did not serve a glass of cava...just a bottle...so I had to have a GnT instead...in Bilbao I wanted CAVA! ❓The bar does not serve any snacks or pinchos ❓strange cold under-cooked poached eggs for breakfast...why?! ❓the room was a bit hot and stuffy...even with the air con. The duvets were too warm. ❓A bit odd having the sink in the main room not in the shower room.

The hotel was stylish and in a great location, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast was exceptional and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Although the hotel was very clear about having no parking, guests should be aware that the nearest 24hr parking is about 20 min walk from the hotel & costs approximately €22 per day. A minor point: one morning breakfast got exceptionally busy with many guests arriving to eat in quick succession- the buffet was not replenished for 20 mins & other guests who’d arrived after us were served before us. It was very frustrating.

We stayed at Goien for a long weekend in Bilbao for my partners birthday, and couldn't recommend it more. The boutique hotel feels really new and clean, with a breakfast great, and overall a lovely feel. The staff were particularly helpful and accommodating (they organised a bottle of champagne for my partners birthday in the room), and the location was perfect, situated within the centre of the old town. We would highly recommend and look forward to hopefully visiting again soon. Thank you Goien for a lovely stay!

We couldn't think of anything as it was such a great stay and amazing value for the money.

This is a simply GREAT little boutique hotel in the fast developing old city center of Bilbao. Beautifully renovated rooms in a classic building right on the classic old town streets of the city. You can walk to the Guggenheim along the river, less than a half hour. A limitless number of restaurants, bars and plazas are all within minutes. The hotel itself is very exclusive, with few rooms, a small very nice staff. Somehow, even the breakfast is first rate. Perfect choice for our first visit to this underrated destination in northern Spain.

Elegant, quirky, very very comfortable (good bed, heat, shower during very cold winter). Room was well lit rare during travel and nice for someone who reads nightly. Fantastic location for me. In old town, two vegetarian friendly, one literally next door and several more within 5 minutes. Right by river, easy 30 minutes walk to Guggenheim. Staff were also just lovely, beyond the call of duty. And,. I didn't ask and received a room upgrade.

Nothing. It's a very well thought through little place. If you want unusual, affordable, character, tis the place. I've stayed in much blander 5 stars.
