The lodges are in rainforest. The kitchen is well appointed with cooktop and microwave. A BBQ is located up near the pool a short walk away. A dehumidifier helps keep down humidity levels. You just remember you are in rainforest. The lodge we had had balconies on two sides which gave different views of the rainforest and enabled me (a photographer) to choose where the best light was. Because we were staying almost a week management washed and dried a load of washing for us at no charge. At night there is the opportunity to sit and watch animals of the night come in to feed including the striped possum. This is worth waiting to see. Other local attractions are not far away and include Lake Eacham (circuit walk where we saw a cassowary), Lake Barrine and Yungaburra. Hasties Swamp bird hide is less than 30 minutes away and is a good birding location.

The weather was not the best - it rained the entire time we were there. This made getting any hand washing difficult to dry. Even with the dehumidifier on a washing setting it took three days to dry. The bathroom had louvre windows on one end for ventilation. Unfortunately there wasn't an insect screen on this window so we kept it closed. There was evidence that there had been a screen at one time.

Location in the forest was amazing. Beautiful hikes through the rainforest just there. Nice wildlife. Quiet. Friendly staff. There's a pool and guest lounge if needed. Unit is spacious and has a full kitchen. Visit Lake Eacham, Lake Barrine and Peterson Creek to spot platypuses (go along the creek, do not go to the platypus viewing platform it's really hard to spot platypuses from there). DO not believe what they say about going at dawn/dusk and being very quiet. We learnt at the Australian Platypus Park that any time of day is fine, and you should keep talking to reassure the platypuses that you are not a predator.

You have to take a short drive out for food, but that didn't bother us too much.

The location is excellent for wildlife viewing, and there are plenty of little parks nearby to spend time during the day. The nearby lake is a beautiful spot to swim and the perimeter trail is good for seeing rat kangaroos. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a kitchen for cooking. The main reason I chose to come here was the nocturnal feeding station, and I got to see a sugar glider and a striped possum. The woman at reception was super super knowledgeable about the local wildlife and gave me tips on places to go to see specific things. The book they left in my room was also great for helping me plan where to spend my time while I was in the area.

I arrived after some heavy rain and the trail around the lodge property was pretty much impassable, but I'm not sure what there is to do about that given the recent weather.

The rainforest lodges were exactly as described. Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, bird calls all around, drizzle overnight, felt like we were far away from suburbia which was wonderful. The Lodges provided basic, clean and comfortable accommodation, everything needed to cook or bbq a meal, space to chill out and just listen and nice size pool for cooling down after a bushwalk. We were helped out incredibly well after a mishap and were not made to feel uncomfortable or upset. Truly brilliant staff! Lake Eacham was only 5 mins down the road, and many other Tablelands attractions weren't too far away either. Highly recommend, we stayed with our two grandchildren and all four of us enjoyed the few days away in the comfort provided by Chambers.

Could have stayed longer.

Our apartment was wonderful; it had everything a travel could need. The bed was comfortable. We really loved seeing the wildlife on their property. It was very cool that we could put out fruit for the birds and other critters. We finally saw a striped possum and a sugar glidercat their night “feeder.” It was a good surprise that they did a complimentary load of laundry for guests staying more than two nights. We could have easily stayed longer. The location was the perfect jumping-off point for watching wildlife in the Atherton Tablelands.

There was a “yoga-type” group retreat happening during the first day and one-half after we arrived. While they were there, access was restricted to the common room, including the coffee machine.

The lodge we stayed in was really lovely. It was very spacious with 2 big recliners to relax in, a good sized TV and good cooking facilities. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable with great linen. Nice fluffy towels, good sized bathroom and endless hot water made the place a pleasure to stay in. The staff were welcoming and even did a load of laundry for us, free of charge! We had a deck with table and chairs and birds came up to the railings to eat fruit and tidbits we left out for them. The evening brought sugar gliders, bandicoots and other animals to the viewing platform! It was amazing!

Nothing at all, it was a fantastic experience. We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect!

What a beautiful location! Being from Canada, I really loved the flora and fauna. Watching the animals come to eat by the viewing platform was a treat, but make sure you watch where you step heading back to your lodge, there were little (although very noisy!) frogs everywhere on the ground. The rainforest walk around the property was very cool, but please check yourself for leaches after. I found 2 on me and one had quite the feast by the time I noticed it. But that is my fault, I forgot to do the mandatory leach check after a hike by a stream. I was looking for the elusive platypus. The beds are quite firm and the pillows very high so if you need a flatter pillow, bring your own. The showers had very little pressure, but the soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion they supply smell amazing. The lady at the check in was very nice and helpful.

We loved the rainforest location. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. I spent an hour from 7.30pm looking at the wildlife in the viewing area and taking photographs. This afforded me the opportunity of meeting other guests who were friendly and also interested in experiencing and photographing the wildlife. We were disappointed that our schedule didn't allow us to fully explore all that the Chalmers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges offered. I'd definitely like to return in the future.

When we arrived, the lodge smelt very strongly of bleach. We needed to open all the windows to air the rooms.

Chambers wildlife lodges are located in the middle of the wild. Be prepared to wake up by the sound of birds like wheep birds. In the night you're invited to sit patiently and be rewarded by seeing nocturnal animals such as stripe possums. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They changed our lodge when we found ours stuffy and not possible to sleep at.

Nothing really. only the fan in the bedroom made a screeching noise during night. But, if you're a good sleeper, it likely won't bother you.

Lively amazing wildlife, gorgeous rainforest, peaceful place, great apartment- clean, fab comfy large bed, basic adequate kitchen, relaxing recliner chairs, walks around the property, rainforest viewing platforms, swimming pool and other communal facilities. Close to lovely Lake Eacham and Lake Barrine - good value & tasty menu at the local Lake Barrine tearooms. I recommend the scones! Also, numerous stunning waterfalls and quaint Yungaburra nearby. Don't miss the wonderful Curtain Fig Tree.
