Loved my stay and hope to come back again! The room, the breakfast, the ambiance and location were great! It was so nice of the hotel staff to keep my luggage for a short time after my checkout. Loved the bikes so I could ride to the beach.

There was nothing I didn't like, but if I could give a suggestion .... the young woman who first checked me in wasn't very helpful with knowing about the local hot spots. I asked about the beaches and restaurants and she just didn't seem to have much information. And when I went to the beach behind the Ritz Carlton I was BLOWN away with how absolutely stunning it was! If I hadn't found it myself, I wouldn't even know about it. The staff should be letting guests know what not to miss.

Really nice atmosphere at this quaint lodge which is extremely well located on Route 1. Nice little outdoor heated pool and a hot tub too which can both be used till 10pm! We were only using as a base as explored from Pacifica to Carmel over 5 nights and over to Saratoga near San Jose for a concert. It was ideal. Self-service breakfast is really nice with small but varied choice and in a really cosy cute room. There is also Joe's Diner over in the car park. We had two really good evening meals there and the staff were very friendly. Great stay.

Our welcome when we arrived was a little cool and not quite the bubbly American welcome you imagine which after a long journey from UK was a tiny bit disappointing but no biggy on the whole. The hotel in places is a bit tired looking but we found it kind of charming and we mainly only slept and ate breakfast there. Could have done with more than 6 hangers.

I love the fact that we were able to have our dogs with us! I thought it was also a very helpful and adorable package that they gave us when we got there for our dog. The brochure in there that told us of all the dog friendly places locally was super helpful and appreciated! We didn't have to do any research on our own.

I was bummed that we couldn't leave our dogs in the room while we went out to dinner. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and I had reservations at the Ritz-Carlton that I had to cancel because we couldn't take our dogs there. Our dogs are trained and they are amazing and could have been left in the hotel room for a couple of hours while we went to eat. But instead we missed out on a wonderful opportunity to celebrate his birthday. That was really the only downside.

Our room looked updated. However, they placed the lamps directly over the nightstands and very low so you hit your head when reaching for things. Silly design! Also, I couldn't get my phone to long onto the wi-fi, but my ipad worked so I just used it. Only had coffee from the breakfast bar it had lots of bread options w/ scrambled eggs and sausage. Great location and staff. Short drive to hiking along the beach and a short drive to restaurants.

I couldn't get into the wi-fi. The front desk tried to help but I think they would have needed to "restart" their router and I didn't ask them to do that.

This is the 2nd 'golf' hotel we have stayed in this trip and they are certainly the way to go! Yes, it was more expensive than we had been paying but Half Moon Bay is a bit pricey. We booked quite last minute when our flight was cancelled and we found ourselves with a few additional days. The large top floor room was lovely and had a private balcony (walls at side so couldn't see others) overlooking the golf resort. Little kitchen area with sink and fridge was separate. Bath is always a bonus for me. It was mostly really quiet (small child down the corridor on night 2 excepted). The breakfast was lovely with a range of foods and was in a very nice room - not like the very standard and stark rooms you get in the chains.

Nothing!

Pool was great. Making snores on the fire pits were great. We loved the little room that had coffee and games all day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall great hotel for a family weekend trip. Lots of fun activities for kids and in close proximity to downtown half moon bay. Room was clean, cohesive and had a fridge which was great!

Lots of texts and emails about check-in and check out, as well as little notices about room cleaning and such it was too much info and repeated info I already gave or was given at check in. Only fruit at breakfast was bananas. Would have loved some berries or other fresh fruit. Water had a bit of a strange aftertaste.

It was my bonus daughter's 15th birthday so we wanted to celebrate her with one of her fav. things - the beach! The Half Moon Bay Lodge was the perfect celebratory spot! It was so conveniently located to beaches, trails, dining, & more. It was the perfect balance of quaint & grounded luxory. The outdoor fire pits & hot tub was perfect after being splashed in the tidepools. My husband loved the pillows lol. And, while I had intentions of using the gym & sauna we ran out of time. The staff was super helpful & knowledgeable. (and the bagpipes at the Ritz down the street added an amazing sunset serenade experience!)

I would love earlier check in time so can make the most of it!

I like the nature around it and fresh air, lots of green trees and flowers, very vacationing atmosphere. Breakfast was very simple, but waffles with lavender half moon bay local honey was something special and really delicious. The quality of teas provided for breakfast were really outstanding and nice. All the staff were surprisingly nice and helpful. And new renovated bathrooms were fancy and clean, I really like shampoos and soaps provided, they were smelling blissfully.

If we you are in the room and your next door neighbours are on their balcony talking, it sounds like they are in your room and you are a part of conversation. But that is something no one can change, that’s how it all was originally constructed. You just need to accept the fact. Pillows themselves are yellowish and dirty if accidentally open a pillow case. They need to be either washed or renewed. And it was not very comfortable to sleep on those. But that is a fixable problem.

Great balcony

No AC. Phone did not work. We heard lots of noise and conversations from other guests.

Loved the location and all the nice places to sit on the property. Our room had a lovely golf course view and we could see a little of the sunset from our patio on the second floor. It was a quiet place. Old tiles in the bathroom were cool and the bed was pretty comfortable.

The breakfast was really disappointing. Those eggs and sausage were absolutely disgusting to be honest! Could only eat the oatmeal and drink coffee because of dietary restrictions. Would have been nice to have some fresh fruit. Get your ice machine fixed on the 2nd floor! For the prices paid per night, come on. Didn’t like that there hasn’t been an elevator installed after all these years. Makes it difficult for a person who has health limitations like me to go up the stairs. And I love the top floor for a view. I didn’t realize you had no elevator!
