Such a gorgeous place to stay. Great old school table service. The food was fantastic! Gorgeous puppers on the property. Our room was very cleanly, and slept three comfortably. Heard some odd noises in the night, but all part of the experience in an old house! We loved exploring the property, so many nooks and crannys to explore throughout the gardens, such a special place. A whole different world, such a short trip away 🥰

Everything was incredible. Such a rare and beautiful house and grounds. The beach is right there and is beautiful. The staff were so kind and helpful. We have traveled so much and this is as good as it gets.

Such a pretty old house and garden, lovingly decorated. -comfy bed -good shower -clean If you're into antiseptic impersonal minimalistic design, this is not the place for you. If you like to sit on a squeaky but comfortable 120 year chair in the breakfast room, with beautiful paintings and design elements everywhere and if you like to get a glimpse on what historical tasmanian houses looked like back in the day, you will love it here. There's 3 large but friendly dogs, just so you know.

Everything is just great! The house is full of history. I picked up a book randomly and the sticker inside the cover page shows the purchased year - 1954! There are antique pieces at every corner of the house. Even the guest book is thick enough and old enough to hold the guest notes back in 2012. Host was so kind and friendly. She introduced every part of the house on my arrival and even brought her dogs onto my pickup truck so I can take some wonderful pictures! Thanks very much!

If I had to sum up Hawley House in one world, it would be- Outstanding. Hawley House is a beautiful slice of history that has been wonderfully maintained by 3 generations. The current host is the most lovely human, kind, generous and an animal lover. The stables are so lovingly updated but not so much so, that they lose their historical charm. It's like stepping back in time with all the mod cons, like electricity and wifi- which might I add, is a free inclusion and works better than my internet at home! We had a rough night in Melbourne the night before, worse for our poor dog. Then a rough trip over on the spirit, making our poor dog highly nervous. The host was extremely understanding of his nervousness and lack of interest in making friends. That in itself is fantastic but in our experience, very unusual. We will be back to visit later in the year. This is a location not to be missed. If I had to sum up Hawley House in one world, it would be- Outstanding. Lovely, private location overlooking the property's dam and stunning Hawley Beach. On arrival we were welcomed by our hostess Sophie and her 3 magnificent and friendly German Shepherds. Sophie is a rare gem, friendly, helpful, generous and quietly very accomplished. She's also the Nigella of Tasmania, creating fine dining offerings beautifully presented for dinner. The home and stables are sensitively decorated according to the home's period. We loved our 3 days with Sophie, the German Shepherds and Horses. We'll definitely return in the near future !

Nothing !

Loved it! Such a gorgeous setting with wildlife abound. Great hosts! Lovely breakfast and very impressive dinner! I felt like I was dining at a Michelin rated French restaurant! And across the road is a quiet and beautiful beach. Couldn’t be better!

The gardens and scenery were wonderful to view. The room was spacious, comfortable and had all we needed. The host was friendly and ready to help with information. She provided a lovely breakfast with homemade bread and fresh fruit salad.

If you are after something slick and luxurious this probably isn’t the property for you. There is a bit of mud and lots of wildlife and a few beautiful well behaved dogs roaming around. This was part of the charm for us. Only suggestion would be better signage in lower car park. We and the people after us were confused as to where to park the car and where to go for reception.

the food overall was excellent. Breakfast was ample and the added cooked breakfast if required was perfect. The evening meal was superb, especially the scallop crepes. The location was not easy to find if you relied on the GPS, not quite where it should have been.. Nevertheless we found it. The grounds are interesting and we wish the family well in maintaining everything.

Nothing really wrong comes to mind
