Private room was spacious, there was a private bathroom, we had booked shared bathroom so nice bonus. Clean, free water at bar and I think a reasonable price for accommodation l, especially over the May Day celebrations.
I was disappointed at the professionalism and attitude of many staff here. We had to wait almost 30mins to check in because if a backlog of people waiting to check in, and only one person working, I expect better from a established hostel like the people. Also on more than one occasion, staff seemed annoyed when I asked them something when they were talking to friends/using phones. Typical big hostel, great facilities and rooms as they’ve got the money, but the staff have to personal connection to the place and don’t care about the customer service. HOWEVER, Sara was lovely, very useful even though she had just started.

Overall a really nice spot, it felt roomy and made for an easy launching point to explore the old port area of Marceille. The rooms and bathrooms were large, and it was relatively easy to find privacy. The breakfast deal (4 euro for coffee and two pastries) was also the perfect portion to start my day.
Only real issue was that someone stole my bag (outside my locker) to steal two pairs of pants and a few sealed snacks. However, after I alerted the staff about this issue, they quickly found it, and ensured I had access to a larger locker for the rest of the trip. So, unfortunate experience, but outside the staffs control and they were able to remedy the situation once alerted quickly. Additionally, they had a group book their quieter workspace the entire time I was there, which made it difficult for me to find a quiet space to work remotely.

Friendly staff, great brekfeast for 9 €, or smaller for 3 €. Nice place, everything clean.
There is no ordinary kitchen. There is a nice place wirh kettle, microwave and fridge. No sink. The dishes are washed by staff in the brekfeast/entry room. No problem, just good to know.

We chose the hotel for its location, near the main station and close to the traditional quarter 'Le Panier'. It is basically a hostel, and we were not expecting very much comfort. We had a two-bed room with bath, and it was indeed furnished in a spartan way, but nothing was lacking. The WiFi worked well. Breakfast was a buffet served in the lobby, with tables in the inner courtyard, not spectacular but quite satisfactory. The staff were friendly and uniformly helpful. The hotel was quiet except for an occasional loud door closing (a sign in the lobby asked guests to be considerate and avoid that, but some forgot and let the door slam shut). The decor was simple but fresh and pleasing (patterns in white and blue, in the style of Matisse's 'cutouts'). The building has a classic exterior and is a protected monument; it ollos like an office building or a former government office, but was in fact originally a cigar factory. All in all a very pleasant stay, with no problems of any kind.
The breakfast could have been better (but one can say that of about 90% of hotels everywhere).

Good location and infrastructure. Great patio and vibe.
I arrived late and there was not toilet paper in my room, and supposedly it could not be replenished until the following day. So even if I was supposed to stay in a room with private bathroom, I ended up going in the one outside (not to mention that the one in the room was very dirty - I understand it’s responsibility of the people using it, but maybe a simple carpet would avoid people spreading water all over with their feet). I also think it’s quite weird for a hostel not to 1) offer shower gel and mostly 2) have a luggage room, even though there’s one fairly close.

Good location, clean and modern, good size room (private single). Felt comfortable as a solo 36yo female. Location can feel a bit sketchy on arrival depending on direction you come from, but not to worry, it's actually nice and close to a main road with shops and supermarket, and easy walk to Le Panier and other locations!
Was a bit strange not to get a hand towel or bath mat, for a private single room. Just the one small bath towel. Some more info about what the two breakfast options consisted of would have been useful. As I didn't know, I didn't bother waking up to find out.

+ conveniently located + safe neighbourhood + nice atmosphere + friendly staff + I stayed 2 nights in a girls' dorm (4 beds) and had really nice and considerate roommates. Our room even had a private balcony (see my 3rd picture). + the room and the bed were comfortable, but:
- the bathroom was so tiny! I measured the shower using my arm's length and estimate it at 40 x 60 cm. Therefore I cannot recommend booking a private bathroom (rather save the money and use the common ones). Hence the deduction of 1 point for comfort and equipment. - No baguette at breakfast or croissants from a boulangerie. The pastries served were industrial prebaked ones. I'd have loved to be offered really good French bakery products even if this would have meant paying a little bit more for the breakfast. Additionally, there was neither cheese nor vegetables available at breakfast. - Every morning there were problems with the WIFI. My electronic devices were connected, but there was no connection to the internet (maybe an overload?)

Clean Safe area Curtain for your privacy Comfortable bed shelves to put your things above the bed You don't have to wash your dishes Someone of the personal was helpful and smiling...
and someone not. I can understand that sometimes we can have a bad or hard day, but a smile to the customer can be appreciated. Moreover, if someone is doing the effort to speak in your mother tongue, doesn't reply in English; respect it , be patient and be happy that someone wants to learn and improve your language. I was in a 8 bedroom, and were available just 6 locker (the math in not an opinion). In addition, 3 locker on 6 were broken, so totally useless. This is very unsafe, because you don' have a place where you can put your stuff.

Cl and comfortable. Patio is very good.
The bathroom in the room is too small. The kitchen doesn't have any things to cook., just have a microwave and an electric kettle.

The location was very good. I arrived late around 9pm, but since it's on the right at the edge of the main road I felt confident to leave and explore the old Vioux-port. it's around 10mins walk from there. Breakfast was great. The reception is good. It's more to the casual side but that's totally fine. And yes, reception comes after you enter the bar side door lol. There's also an art gallery or something, which is cool. I didn't have time to check. Also there is a study room kind of thing.
Big flaw, the lockers were cool but nothing big fits, I had to remove some things from even my backpack to fit. No way medium to large luggage will fit there. My floor didn't have a bathroom at all, only floors 3, 1 and 0 have it. It wasn't a big problem for me, but it might be for some. I did not see it (didn't expect to look for it tbh, no other hostel had this way) while booking it though so my bad, they tell you that. One elevator is not enough either in my opinion, I had to wait a few minutes in both times I travelled up.
