We love Pinestead Reef, and have stayed here a number of times. The location is right on a beautiful beach, so the view is second to none. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. You genuinely feel at home. You can fix your own dinner in the full kitchen if you like, or pile your takeout leftovers in the full fridge and nuke them for lunch the next day. And the ducks who've taken up residence there are fun to watch, but the rules are not to feed them. That's hard, when they show up at your patio door right when your Door Dash arrives! Staff we've encountered are really helpful and nice. The pool and hot tub area is an attractive space, although the hot tub is rather small. There is a sauna, although we didn't use it.

We've had this same room before, have requested it, but it's beginning to show some wear, and needs some updating. The bathroom sink dripped and drained slowly. Our last night there, it became a steady non-stop stream. We were checking out early, and notified the front desk right away. They were sending maintenance to fix it immediately. The ceiling over kitchen area needs updating, as dark areas have appeared that I didn't notice previously. Some of the furnishings are showing their age, and the carpet looked blotchy when we arrived. Nothing a little brefreshing can't fix. We'd stay again!

There were a few things that we really liked during our stay! We absolutely loved the view! It was very peaceful and perfect for sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise while drinking coffee! We also really liked the pool area! It was very clean and had floating devices for us to use! We also really like the game room!! We have never been to a place that has a game room! We loved it and enjoyed our stay very much!

There was only two things I didn’t like about my stay. First thing is that nobody came to empty any of our trash cans. When they got full we asked for them to be emptied and was told to just take them outside to the dumpster. The second things is nobody came to get dirty towels and replace them with fresh towels. I did bring some towels from home so we had enough but that’s not the point. Neither of these things were a very good look for them!

Location and views were perfect

The only thing is it’s a little out dated but we can get past that , we had 2 rooms with living , kitchen and bedroom (non smoking ) they both smelled like marijuana. Thankfully it was decent out so we kept the screen doors open as much as we could … after we made some sausage for breakfast the next day the smell had dissipated, we had a one year old traveling with us … we didn’t complain about it to management . We know there’s not much you can do for that .

We stayed in a two room suite on the ground floor with its own deck and direct access to the beach - fabulous. The kitchenette was well supplied and had everything we needed to make supper and breakfast. The staff were exceptional in helping us when we had a problem with the bed configuration that had been inaccuartely described on booking.com, providing an extra room despite being very busy. Evrything was clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic stay and will be back for longer next time.

Loved this place. An adorable little apartment with fully furnished kitchen and private bedroom. The building has seen some years, but the rooms have been freshened up and are quite comfortable. A great shower with safety rails for us oldsters, and elevator transport to the 3rd floor. The view of the East Grand Traverse Bay is incredible, of course, and we spent a lot of time enjoying it from the large balcony! We purposely came ahead of the Memorial Day opening, so it was very quiet and peaceful! Will be returning for sure!

The beds weren’t as comfortable as I’d have liked, but that’s my only complaint.

Location and view are perfect

A little dated but that was ok. Room was very clean and tidy however even though no smoking (we had 2 rooms on third floor) on smelled like cigarettes and the other had a marijuana smell. Fortunately it was nice and we just aired it out through the open screened door wall. We didn’t feel the need to complain about it , but with babies it was a little unsettling having that initial smell greeting us .

Our room was very quiet. Being in the main drag, and pulling up seeing a bunch of windows, we thought it would be really noisy. Seeing that those windows were in the hallway and the room faced the water was a wonderful surprise. Our room was clean, comfortable and larger than a usual suite. It's not one of the newer, fancier hotels in Traverse City but, if you like homey rather than glitzy, this is a great choice.

There were a few minor repairs that could be made in things like switch plate covers but, overall, we were impressed.

The size of the room was beyond my expectations. The view was amazing.

I chose two adjoining rooms for my stay and that was not given at check-in. The staff did upgrade our room to a 2 bedroom with shared living/kitchen. It was fine but not as much privacy as i wanted when i booked the rooms. It was also spring break so there were very loud teenagers running up and down the halls throughout the evening and knocking on the doors as they ran past.

I was on the first floor; loved the beach walk out access! Also, loved the main patio area off the living room but also the smaller patio off the main bedroom. Having two full bathrooms was excellent.

Exterior upkeep left something to be desired. The back door leading to the patio was surrounded by cobwebs and large spiders. We had to clear the webs with a broom and kill the spiders so we could actually use the door. It would have been nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit or in the hallway outside the unit.

I wish I had a ground floor room.

The bed was a little to hard. Kids running up and down the hallways. Not alot of pans for cooking with. More utensils like a spatulas. We have stayed other times and had great experience we will continue to stay as long as we are able. We will be coming back up in February 20th through the 23rd for my birthday weekend. Having family over to help me celebrate my birthday.
