Absolutely charming and wonderfully peaceful. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. It’s a genuinely family atmosphere with beautiful views and in the nicest part of high Bergamo. Our room was very comfortable and clean and we liked it so much we stayed an extra night. Breakfast was tasty and freshly prepared. We took their recommendations for local restaurants and ate extremely well from a great little inexpensive family run trattoria in walking distance to a very interesting Michelin starred restaurant at the top of the hill with breathtaking views. A very pleasant experience and more than we expected

Would have liked a bath rather than a shower but could have requested that if we’d booked a suite. Will do that when we come back !

We spent 2 nights in Bergamo in one of La Valetta’s Junior Suites and cannot recommend the property highly enough. It is excellent value for money, owned and run by an extremely friendly and helpful family. The location is perfect and the shuttle service to the Citta Alta efficient and reliable. We hesitate to give anyone a 10, but after experiencing so many unrealistically flattering reviews on Booking.com we were delighted to stay in a property where the accolades are genuinely deserved.

Beautiful property with kind and welcoming staff who went to every effort to make sure we had what we needed. The room was large, clean and quiet - equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was perfect every morning. It was a really lovely place to stay - felt like a quiet retreat from the city.

The location is a little far from town if you’re on foot. It’s only a 20 min walk down a pretty quiet road, but if you have a large suitcase plan ahead for your arrival! Once there, it’s totally fine. There is a complimentary shuttle at specific times in the day, and the hotel staff is super accommodating for other times. This is not a negative about the hotel at all, just a heads up for anyone without a car wanting to stay at this lovely little hotel!

Everything. Prior to arrival, we were advised of a road closure and given alternative instructions. On our early arrival, we were met by the owner, Mario, who very welcoming and helpful. Room made ready at short notice. Breakfasts were exceptional, advice regarding places to eat, where to go and what to do was valuable and the entire experience was outstanding. Mario, Graciella and Giacomo are delightful hosts for whom nothing is a problem.

Friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. Hotel was in an excellent location being only a 15 minute walk into Bergamo and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Rooms were both clean and spacious with lots of character. Member of staff recommended a restaurant nearby which was very good and reasonably priced.

Little difficult to drive to - windy and sometimes narrow country roads but wouldn't put us off coming again.

Given the brevity of our stay, it's difficult to pinpoint any particular aspect that we didn't like about La Valletta Relais. Perhaps the seamless experience and excellent service left little room for dissatisfaction.

We thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay in a lovely large, airy and spotlessly clean room. The staff are fantastic and very helpful and informative. Breakfast was exceptional! The free shuttle bus to the old town and back is a bonus but we also walked to and from town which took about 10-15 minutes. There’s a lovely garden area and terrace to sit and enjoy some drinks. We will definitely return and recommend highly.

This place is a gem. Professional, tasteful and in an area that was lush, green and attractive. Five minutes walk from church and a great local restaurant. Opposite vineyards. Great area to run and cycle and just 20 minutes to walk to the historic part of upper Bergamo which is otherwise a nightmare to park in! The staff were without question the most pleasant of people, the breakfast comfortable, great coffee, pastries and cooked eggs etc if you wanted it. Would like to return.

Not really anything, narrow road to get there????

The place is wonderful. The owners are the nicest and most helpful people we have ever met. The rooms are kept in great condition, the cleanliness is maintained at a high level, the food served for breakfast is always fresh and delicious. The location is in a beautiful setting quite close to the old town and at the same time it is a very quiet area. We will gladly return there more than once.

A wonderful hotel set in beautiful countryside about a 20 minute walk from the Citta Alta. There is a free shuttle to get in and out of the city at set times, but also available at very reasonable price if needed at other times. The views and countryside around the hotel are stunning. The family who run the hotel are so friendly and helpful, and able to give great local advice. There was a great choice of breakfast options and a well stocked mini bar in our room. If I get the opportunity I would stay again!
