The Bull is in a really good location, it's a quirky old building with loads off little rooms shooting off from the main bar area. The bar area is quite small but functional. We had an evening meal which was very nice, the steak was delicious. Our room was nice, quite compact (a small double) but fine for what we needed. The Bull appeared to be the only pub open in Fairford so the bar was quite busy.
As mentioned the bar area is quite small, it would help if the bar was cleared of 'bar hangers' once they had been served as it was a challenge to get noticed due to the amount of people there.

The entire hotel pub feels cosy and very well looked after. There are tonnes of little details and superb decor. The breakfast service and food was very nice, great quality all across from cutlery, crockery, offer range etc. Service was always prompt and helpful.
The rooms have a simple lock. Access from the street to the rooms it worryingly easy - literally anyone walking in could turn right take the stairs and in 2 seconds have access to the hotel part and the hotel rooms. The rooms have a single lock, from the outside and nothing from the inside you can lock the door or anything. Access to the pub and restaurant is all done though the same door. I will suggest to add a second lockable door.

Great cheerful staff in an atmospheric pub. Bathroom facilities very good given age of building. Even the continental breakfast was very generous in terms of quality.
The room was overly warm despite us turning the radiator off and leaving windows open. The floor boards naturally creak - not a problem when you are the one doing the creaking, more disturbing when it is the occupants in the room above doing the creaking.

The overall feel of the Bull Hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly. And the Hotel was nice.
I didn't like the fact that the Hotel didn't really cater for plant passed alternatives. I looked at the dining menu online, and they were a number of dishes that I could eat. However we were there over the weekend, as we attended a wedding on Saturday, and we wanted a nice Sunday dinner at the hotel. Unfortunately, my dietary requirements were not met on the Sunday dinner menu, which was not the same as what is advertised on the website. There was also no plant based breakfast option. There was a lovely vegetarian option. I am also lactose intolerant, and again, unfortunately, the breakfast menu did not really cater for this. And again, as it was a Sunday, there were not many notions locally either. Apart from this we did have a very lovely stay..

Location, comfort of the room and above all the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
A lot of the decor, especially on the ground floor and on the initial stairs up was very tired, with signs of wear and tear, not helped by the fact that the colours chosen were extremely dark, thus showing every knock. Why do such places choose such dreary, dingy colours which do not wear well? Such a shame, as above ground level. The decorations were lovely and light, and in very good nick.

The inn was very tidy, clean and cosy. The staff was exceptional. I loved the location as it was quiet and the room we were in was at the far end so it was more peaceful. We also had dinner at the restaurant twice. Dinner was very good and we enjoyed our meals. The hotel is situated at the high street which made it easy for morning walks around the area.
As the inn is at least 500 years old, the flooring was wonky so had to be careful when walking around. It actually is one of the charms but just needs to be a tad more careful. Overall our stay was lovely.

Lovely hotel, decorated nicely . Food was superb . Relaxing. Easy to get around the Cotswolds from this location. Coop opposite if you have forgotten anything, however plentiful supply of bathroom requirements.
My room (21) was very small , no wardrobe, no drawers to put things in. It would have been nice to have a decent mirror in the room. The room was at the top of a very narrow and steep staircase which may not suit all. I perhaps had not read the small print but I did think breakfast was included in the price. The piped music in the breakfast room was lovely but it was different to what I could hear coming from the kitchen. The FREE WiFi reception was a bit hit and miss. Staff, as lovely and relaxed and casual the ambience was, it would be good to see staff identified in some way.

The Bull Hotel was perfectly situated in the very picturesque village of Fairford in The Cotswolds. We had a very roomy twin room with lots of cupboard space & coat hangers. Also a good shower with lots of hot water. The food in the evening was lovely & the gammon & steak were of a good quality & really tasty and also cooked to perfection. It’s a very old hotel full of character but as with the majority of these old hotels it is on lots of different levels so anyone with mobility issues needs to ensure they book a suitable room.
Service at breakfast was very slow but sadly this is a staffing problem reflected across hospitality. We could have done with a mirror in the bedroom, the only mirror was in the bathroom and when two of you are trying to get ready at the same time this proved difficult, especially when the mirror was full of steam from showers.

We had both breakfast and dinner during our stay and the menu, quality of the food and service was excellent. The hotel is priced well, is welcoming and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly and we would not hesitate to stay there again. It was a very good experience.
The bathroom in my room was a little dark and needed more clothes hanging space but other than that everyone in my party were more than happy with everything.
