The staff is absolutely amazing. we got stuck in a snowstorm, and were able to finally arrive although very late at night. Manager stayed in contact and left cards in a lock box for us to access rooms. the next day, her husband gave us a ride to pick up our car after the storm had ended. the nicest people and staff, hotel was clean, comfortable, food was great and always clean areas. I will always stay here when visiting Hofn.

nothing. I do not know of anything that stands out that I did not like. possibly parking might be tight in summer when peak season, but I do not know for sure. parking was easy during winter. even then, its worth staying here.

Very interesting property! Extremely kind and welcoming person at check in. I don't know where the error occurred, but we booked 2 twins but got a double (king). Our room happened to have a pullout sofa, which she made up while we had dinner. A very nice gesture, unfortunately that bed was noticeably less comfortable (too firm!) than the main bed. If I could confirm 2 twins I'd certainly stay there again. Breakfast was also good, and they even had beverage ice on request!

However the bed preference request got lost (hotel says they never received the request, so ??).

Breakfast was really nice, complete with carrot cake, all regularly replenished. Nice to have a choice of percolated and coffee machine coffee. Good array of cold cuts, cheese, skyr, croissants. The room was one of the biggest we had in Iceland, and a surprise was a small fridge, which we really appreciated. Very quiet place to stay.

Yes, it was a bit of a hike into town if the weather was iffy, but not a real issue.

Very cool conversion of an old milk factory on the edge of Hofn. Plenty of parking, nice view from outside, hip and bright interior spaces w/ references to the factory history, large breakfast room w/ an ample buffet (which was actually included, unlike all our other Iceland hotels), friendly staff, bright and high-ceilinged room (we had the family room w/ the loft) w/ a huge window (but decent shades). All-in-all a fun place.

A little noise from the hallway and, as w/ our other Iceland hotels, a smallish bathroom. But those are quibbles.

The breakfast was a typical Icelandic breakfast (cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, bread and boiled eggs) but the homemade bread they served was so delicious! It was by far the best of the hotel breakfast’s that we’d had our whole trip. They also had the hottest shower water of all the places we stayed in. It was nice to take a hot shower instead of a warm one for once.

Give an extra pillow. Idk if it’s an Icelandic thing that every place only gives 1 pillow per person but it would be nice to have 2 pillows.

We were staying here between locations. It was easy to get to, staff were very accommodating, breakfast was great, and our room was large and comfortable

We atayed in the outside room which at 1st wasn’t great (you could hear the lobby door close) but it was warm outside and the room had 2 windows which really helped with airflow, so it was great and the noise didn’t bother us.

Perfect location! Situated just on the edge of Hofn', includes everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable overnight stay. Our room had two queen beds, one on the main floor and one upstairs (in the same room of course). Very clean and plenty of space for our family of three.

Room was a little difficult to moderate the temperature. Our stay was during Winter, so on the colder side. Heating is hot water radiator. So changes in settings take a little longer than what we are use to. Oh yea, and the windows draw condensation due to their size (very large) and the radiator located right below them. Remember...it was Winter. Not a big deal, just need to mention.

Good location on the outskirts of Hofn assuming you have a car and easy to find along to main road into town. Good private parking in front of the hotel. The room was quite large and spacious and so was the bathroom. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Breakfast was basic continental but was good and staff were very helpful if items ran out. There is one of the automated coffee machines which are quite common in Iceland.

Overnight there was no heating or hot water - this was not the hotel's fault - there was a major supply pipe failure in town. However, staff didn't tell us when we arrived and we only noticed when we got back to our room after dinner and saw a small sign on the wall.

Unlike many "hotels" in Iceland that turn out to be little better than hostels upon a closer look, this guesthouse is in fact comparable in quality to a very good 3 star hotel. The room was very large, featuring a very comfortable bed, panoramic windows with awesome views and a spacious bathoom with modern facilities quite unlike rusty, leaky, smelly camping-style WCs we've had to live with at some other places. Everything was perfectly tidy. The place was a very welcome respite after a mouldy motel we had to stay at the previous night. There is no on-site restaurant, but the guesthouse is 5 minutes drive from the centre of Hofn. If you come in high season, you will most likely have to book in advance as there are very few restaurants in the town and they tend to be fully booked. Borislav, the guy at the reception, was incredibly helpful in a lot of practical ways. If you are reading this, Borislav - many thanks to you mate, it was really nice getting to know you! Given the place's very reasonable rates, I highly recommend this guesthouse. I am not giving good reviews lightly, for I do expect to receive quality when I pay for it. Milk Factory certainly delivers.

Unique location in a converted milk processing factory - although it really just looks like a nicely remodeled hotel with some photos and decorations reminiscent of its former role. We had a four person room which ended up including a loft with two beds upstairs, which we were not aware of. The stairs were wide and safe but could present a problem for some. The main room was quite small but nicely decorated. The upstairs loft included a small freestanding fan, which I used to bring in some fresh air. The bathroom facilities were fine and the rain style shower wonderful. They provided an included breakfast buffet that offered good quality foods. The hotel is located in Hofn, which was our favorite town outside of Reykjavik with lovely walking paths, nature and art trails and some good restaurants.

Rooms were quite small and it was relatively expensive - more expensive than the nice hotel where were stayed in downtown Reykjavik. There are limited accommodations in the area, so that is probably a factor. The grounds around the hotel are not attractive and it is just off the main road into town, but it was quiet.
