The hotel was very good and the position perfectly we had a really good view from our bedroom window of the Christmas market and townhall. I am from sheffield it's s second home for me so can say the position of the hotel was perfect. I did feel the room.could do with a bit of tlc as the lamp shade was cracked and a couple of tiles in the bathroom where broken. Also there was blood on the wall.by the wardrobes. But all in all we were pleased with the room .as it is 30 years since my daughter had visited sheffield. The girl on reception was very helpful and polite but we did find the young man rather abrupt. After all this we will.return to the hotel possibly later in the year.

Staff were outstanding, to the level of 5 star. They could not do enough for customers - they were very well trained in customer service. Of particular note was Robin, who excelled. The room was very spacious and equipped with everything needed and the bathroom was fitted with a bath and a separate shower. The location was excellent, the service was excellent and the hotel facilities very good. The bar and restaurant area were lovely.

I would say that there needs to be a little TLC in the rooms - for example the bathroom needs some soap next to the sink and also next to the bath. The spa has the potential to be excellent (as it has spacious facilities), but it needs regular cleaning (mopping up the excess water on a regular basis to prevent slipping).

Excellent communication leading up to our stay by advising about car parking, considering our requests for arrival times etc. Friendly staff who were welcoming and accommodating on our requests. Although our rooms weren't ready on arrival we were able to leave our suitcases with reception which enabled us to explore the surrounding area. Breakfast was included and provided a nice variety of breakfast choices to choose from. The location is central to Sheffield city centre and literally right next door to the Crucible and Lyceum theatres. Loved the bar/breakfast/restaurant area offering comfortable seating which is light and airy. Our room was spacious, quiet and well laid out, decorated in neutral colours. Lighting was subtle and not glaringly over bright. Bathroom had a separate shower which is so much easier than getting in and out of a shower over a bath. Loved the hand/shower soaps.

I'm being really picky now because there was not too much to dislike. Limited choice on teas/coffees at the bar, i.e. no specialty teas or coffees. Pillows were a little uncomfortable for us.

The hotel is in a great location. We were going to the Lyceum to watch a show and had booked into Miller and Carter for dinner, so the hotel couldn't have been better placed for us. The receptionist who booked us in was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The communal areas are quite nice and the side of the building looks out into the Winter Gardens. We had booked two rooms which were opposite each other on the 4th floor. One room looked over the Winter Gardens and we could also see the Crucible and Lyceum. The other room looked over the Millenium Square - both really good views. The rooms were quite basic though, and quite tired looking in places. I didn't feel that the rooms matched up to communal areas.

I'm disabled and was given a disabled room. Large with a walk in shower. Plenty of chairs to sit on and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There were no fact sheets to tell you how the heating worked or how the safe worked. There was no fresh water for the kettle. You had to fill it up from the bathroom. Breakfast was extra and I think 12.00 per nite for one person is too expensive. Who eats 12.00s worth of breakfast. Maybe they could offer a lighter breakfast for cheaper.

Well, went there stopping over for the snooker final..... brilliant Hotel right in the centre. All the staff were so helpful and friendly..... as if they really enjoyed their jobs, which was a great experience. Checked in by Amanda, who throughout my 3 night stay could not do enough to help and was a credit to the Hotel. Please recognise this to her. My room was immaculate and great view of centre. Full credit to room keepers.

Nothing, Food was excellent, served with a smile and a friendly chat, just what it should be like.

Check in process was easy room was ready on arrival. Staff polite informed customer of the free use of spa facilities just wish we knew this prior to arrival as didn’t have any swim wear. Room was spacious, it was an accessible room even though we didn’t need this. Location is amazing for Sheffield centre. Breakfast was delicious and staff in breakfast room very lovely. Would definitely stay again if in Sheffield for a show or night out.

Wish we had known about use of spa facilities being free to use as we would have brought some swim wear

Chairs were dirty in room Fridge light flashing on & off Didn’t seem to be cold/working properly Empty shower gel & shampoo when I went to use it ( was replenished after I mentioned it to reception staff but not put in shower, left on the side of sink) Had to figure out how to change the empty container!!

2nd time stayed here,perfect location as we're going to City Hall for concert. 5 mins walk also to car park & only £13 50 for 24hrs. Lovely rooms and breakfast also tropical covered garden next door. 8 mins from Kelham Island museum a must and free,along with Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet wonderful.

Our 1st night room 126 had a humming all night from main aircon unit outside. However staff were very helpful and gave us another room on 3rd floor or option to pay £15 for privilege room on 5th floor, well worth it,great veiw.

Spacious room, excellent views, clean and quiet. USB sockets and great Yorkshire tea available. Free use of the spa facilities downstairs was a huge bonus!

I think there should be hand lotion and conditioner provided in the bathroom, just because it’s pretty standard and really useful, the shampoo was really nice. The pillows were a strange size - on the small side but full, maybe more standard pillows should be available. The spa facilities were great but could definitely have been cleaner, need some updating. But as mentioned excellent bonus for the room.
